Bought the Sanlida Hermit X10 ILF in October of this year (2024) and shot about a thousand arrows with it. I loved the bow until yesterday when the upper limb delaminated on me when I was almost at full draw. A loud crack right in my face. For some reason the arrow, nock end, hit me right above the eye. No injury but it shook me up. I have had a bow to delaminate on me before, but not so catastrophically.
@@patmurray2382 wow, that’s the first I’ve heard of it but I guess any of them can, I’ve had several different limbs delaminate on me and risers actually break during full draw just not any of the Sanlida bows but I’m glad you didn’t get hurt and will guarantee you they’ll make it right with you if you’ll let them know especially Nathan and Nicole.
On my southwest Spyder the riser cracked and limbs warped. It was as light as a feather. Limbs are going to go bad but I had to throw out the entire setup!
Been shootin my Hermit X10 now for about 7 months. Being new to Archery, I have no experience with recurve bows at all but I can honestly say I'm an ok shot with my Hermit inside 15 yards at 20 yards my group opens up, I,m a work in progress, my Archery & walk with Christ. Thank you Jeff, you Rock
I’ve got the X10 limbs on a Tbow riser. Total investment of $350. I shoot an elevated rest with a Gunshy quiver. Easton 6.5 hunter arrows 400 spine 50gr inserts 200gr Crimson Talon Cleavers 532gr total arrow weight. TTT string double silencers 170fps 45# @ 27. Luv this setup!!!
bought it after watching some of your videos and I love this thing, kind of sad to see my custom longbow collecting dust. I found the flipper rest pushed my arrow way out of center, so I cut off the plunger part of it and stuck a piece of Velcro over that, worked great. I tried the Segway strap-on but the hood is way too flimsy for me, I like to hang my bow from the quiver hood as well so I went to a great northern quiver side mounted to the riser, so much better. Made a perfect shot on a nice buck with it and my confidence with the trad bow is higher than ever, thank you Jeff!
@@jeffreyconley9190 Thanks brother, I sincerely felt that I needed to share my personal experience with this bow, still can’t get over the quality they put into it for so little money. It just fits me perfectly.
I was going to buy the black Hunter from big Jim’s but then I seen Amazon had the hermit X8 back in stock and I went that route. It’s pretty nice bow it was only 150 bucks. I like the wood because it’s warm and it’s a 2.2lbs
Do you adjust the tiller any when running an elevated rest or still running even? 3under. Great bow. Tack driver. Shooting dragon 9 vanes with that rest with great results. Thanks!
I just got a f261 from China ordered a nap rest to try out. Just doing some draws in the house feels so much smoother than my Martin hunter I've had since 2010. Once the rest comes in I'll try to get it tuned up but excited to try. I would have tried this x10 but I been cursed with shooting left handed 😂
Wow, this actually looks like 20% bow and 80% custom made changes. So basically Sanlida provided a raiser and two limbs, all the rest (a custom string with 4 puffs and 2 whiskers, limbs with 2 backings, 2 dumpers and a quiver that further absorbs the limb resonance, a custom flipper rest) was added by you. Well done, that is a lot of effort put in to make this bow work :)
Jeff I have been looking at the Oberon Recurve and the Sitkan TD. I have a 29in draw length witch bow would Suite me the best. I really like the way the sitkan looks but at 58in just not sure. David
So many good bows out there. I have a good performance bow the das dx5 with bosen longbow limbs and samick r3 foam core limb . My black hunter longbows are crazy fast. My left hand w@w black elk with kinetic honoric limbs and old mountain panther limbs. These bows lights out shoot great!!! I'm left handed so the hermit x 10 riser only comes in right hand. I just ordered a 19 inch junxing f261 ilf riser in left hand should be a fine hunting riser as I shot the 17 inch riser for years with accuracy!!
Quick question, the Sanlida bow advertised on Amazon and Sanlida Outdoors website does not mention the X. Just says it's a Hermit 10. Im not sure if there is a difference or not? Hoping someone can let me know. Thanks for all your reviews and helpful videos!
Have you tried the GunShy Archery quiver on the Hermit X10 45 lb @28a ? I have close to 29 inch draw-length. With a Serious Trad Star 500 shaft, 100 gr. insert and 150 gr. field point 460gr. arrow, I get 166 ft per sec. I am using the same flipper rest.
I also had a n issue with sanlidahermit 10 limb: cracked while shooting. I personally prefer those of bosen limbs they are more sturdy and use a high modulus carbon and cross carbon while sanlida uses a cross carbon layer only over foam
How does this one compared to the Cairn or Sitkin? Have to do any adjustments to tiller or brace height like the diy project build(sanding limbs)? I’m looking to make the switch from the compound side to trad. Looking for a right out of the box budget bow.
@@derekbaggett189 completely different animal! It’s way more advanced and adjustable and you can literally make it fit any style you want to shoot plus it has around 3# of weight adjustment with the tiller bolts 👍🏻
@ what tiller/brace height are you running for 3 under release on this Hermit X10?I’ve never shot traditional and been watching your budget bows to figure out which one to get. Compound wise I’m shooting 29” DL and 60-65#DW. Looking at either 30 or 40# recurve.
@@davetoms63 yes absolutely! The tiller bolts are completely adjustable, also make sure to run some Velcro where the limb butts touch the bolt heads, that’s where some vibrations come from during the recoil of the shot on ILF bows.
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 I've been shooting in my backyard at hay bales I did order a hog 3D Target that should be here pretty soon but I went to the 3D range I just found out we had one here locally and it's quite a bit different than shooting in the backyard.
Thanks, I’m 66 young, have many wood recurves, and longbows, made the the aluminum brackets on black hawk first compound, they sent me one. This x10 is great definitely shoots better than all my bows.🙂👍

7 inch brace height is the solution for Chinese bows.

G'day Jeff,
Do you know what happened to the 62" version Sanlida were planning on releasing?
Cheers mate Pete

I have the Hermit X10. What do you recommend for a stabilizer? What brand and length.
How does this bow differ from the Sanlida X9 Miracle (cuz I just bought one hoping to use it for hunting). Thank you!
