    I had some questions about my custom wall mounted logo, so I made a video explanation about it. Using the Creality Ender 3 I printed the face surface of the logo in black PLA, and then swapped to clear filament after 7 layers to give it transparent edges. With the inside lined with WS2812B addressable LED strips, and controlled via a NodeMCU with Aircoookie's WLED firmware installed - the entire thing can be automated via Alexa or customized through the WLED phone app. I hope this can inspire some others to try a project like this. Enjoy!

    imo, you do a really good job at making these videos! You are super clear and easy to follow along with, especially for someone like myself who has not yet made the leap of investing in a printer so I'm at the very beginning of being able to express art through 3D printing. again, great job with the video, it definitely am inspired in a lot of ways after watching your video

    Awesome vid dude, can see you're putting a lot of effort into your production and editing, also noticed the sneaky vertigo/dolly zoom about a minute in.
    Great work, I can appreciate how time-consuming D.I.Y projects take when you're filming every step of them. Also had a giggle at just sending it after shrink wrapping everything prior to testing, another trait I carry 😉
    I look forward to the next vid you make 😁✌

    Great project! I think making the walls thicker or offsetting the L.E.D's would disperse the light better, making it more of an even glow and hiding the individual diodes. This is how it's done on computer peripherals or PC components. Instead of 3d printing the face, you could also have a solid piece of acrylic laser cut at a lot of local maker spaces (maybe not as easy with C-19 lol).

    • @Coltography
      @Coltography  4 года назад

      Thank you - and that's a really good idea. I briefly thought about it when I recorded the voiceover at the end showing wall thickness and you're definitely right, the diffusion would look awesome. Will have to try it

    I wouldn't keep the printer on the desk close to you. It can release harmful chemicals and microplastics into the air. And prolonged exposure might lead to problems later on.
    I'd buy a cheap vented enclosure, which also helps with the printing of ABS.
