You are very lucky! I was a long time fan of Conan O'Brien, and I think he had his best work during his tenure on Late Night. However, this election cycle was more than I could stomach, and I haven't watched anything of his in about a year. In my opinion, he's an elitist who's become grossly out of touch with the American people outside of his isolated little studio, and those in his studio audience, as well as Southern California in general. And I'm not naive enough to blame just him. Unfortunately, most late-night TV has gone that direction. Even SNL. It's a real shame. He gave me many nights of laughs during Late Night, and I was a devout fan of his. Then Leno screwed him over, and he became bitter (like Letterman before him). But I sympathized with him, and followed him to his new show. Not anymore. But I still have fond memories. You were very blessed to be able to work on his show, and I hope you too have happy memories of the experience.
One of my biggest regrets I’ll ever experience is not seeing Levon play live before he passed. I should have just walked to Woodstock for one of his rambles.
read his book and decide: There are always two sides to a story. { I tend to believe Mr Mark L Helm] How about you?? This Wheel's on Fire: Levon Helm and the Story of the Band
My wife and I were lucky enough to be at this show.... amazing experience and Norm Macdonald and Gordon Ramsey were hilarious as well earlier in the show...
Does anyone notice that after Levon finishes the first song, Conan comes from a different side of the stage to thank Levon. I just realized that because Levon's back was to where Conan and the others were seated, and he would have had to get up and walk around the cameras, to the other side to see Levon performing.
Scott Dimond I often try to incorporate some of Levon’s techniques into my own drumming. It’s a lot of fun honestly, he had such a unique way of playing.
At least a handful of people were aware enough to clap at the intro to 'The Weight'. My first exposure to The Band was in !973 at Watkins Glen, playing with The Dead and the Allman Brothers.
That's Larry Campbell who for many years was part of Levon's Midnight Ramble Band. His wife, Teresa Williams is to his right. To his left is Amy Helm, Levon's daughter.
I was lucky enough to be a camera op on this show back then. Surely a highlight of those days...

This night was surely a one of the best.
I think you're a God damn liar I think you you wouldn't know how to operate a camera if it's stuck up your ass...
I had the honor to work as Levon's road manager in 1981 with the Cate Brothers. Changed my life. Thanks Levon and Sandy❤
Amen 🙏🏼
He's with the heavenly Father now ⭐✨ ✨
Heart wrenching performance. Phenomenal album too. He held his voice together for this performance,

I saw him a few times. He opened for the Black Crowes towards the end👍

I will never stop listening . I saw his show at the Beacon . I knew them that Levon's days were numbered .
Still listening in 2023
Levon Helm is a national treasure! God bless him and his family.
What a great story sound and feeling. Levon looks none too hale, but he gives it all he had and sounds great.. Big and great band.
Imagine the jam sessions going on in heaven with Levon, Rick, and Richard
I miss Levon 💕 fantastic
Wish I could've caught this when it originally aired, good performance.
Hard to watch him struggle like that. Love Levons music.
I think that might be his daughter on that drum
Oh Levon.....you’re the best! Miss ya, sir!
Such a master, I almost didn't notice him drop a stick. Didn't miss a beat!
Kick ass performance and musicians

This brings me to tears!
Somehow I always come back to this performance. My only regret is I wasted years not listening to Levon.
Fortunate to be a witness. God bless you, Lee.
Awesome man and music, thanks for posting!
Fuck. Levon was a fighter.
The Lion in winter here...still making great music.
Amen Hi David
😊
I've always knew I was a ⭐✨
That's called a groove drummer folks, priceless stuff!
dasbear10 and groove drummers know that's what it's all about. Levon was one of the best.
I just read that Levon was an influence on JJ Johnson so I'm checking him out. He is solid and tasteful. Great drumming.
Scott Dimond I often try to incorporate some of Levon’s techniques into my own drumming. It’s a lot of fun honestly, he had such a unique way of playing.
Typical media. Y'all should have allowed the song to be sung in its original version. Mr. Helm!? I get it. Thank you!
No doubt about his greatness.
0:20 A Train Robbery
5:30 The Weight
Americana music... close your eyes and see them marching down Bourbon St. Nuttin' else touches Levon and The Band.
The best.....
God bless.
The fact that this has 25 comments makes me wanna move to Iceland

Came back with his soul!
this is too painful to watch
Way to gut it out after the cancer. ♥😎🥁🥁🥁
Who is the acoustic guitarist playing for Levon.
That's Larry Campbell who for many years was part of Levon's Midnight Ramble Band. His wife, Teresa Williams is to his right. To his left is Amy Helm, Levon's daughter.
He looks like a young Steve Earl!!
