Go to Palmer Woods, Rosedale Park, Indian Village, Sherwood Forest, drive up a notch and you will be in the Boston Edison district with Manisons. So when people are breaking their necks to move here EVEN THOUGH YOUR SHOWING THAT PART IT IS A REASON WHY! TAKE A TRIP TO THE MIDDLE EAST, OR LA NOW WHATS THE DIFFERENCE. I'm not that familiar with Detroit but I noticed the same as you mention in Dayton, Ohio. 25 years ago a mass of wrecked homes. Nowadays lots of 'em are getting fixed up, property taxes going up, etc. Same in Vegas where I am now. No more cheap, falling apart homes these days. All bought up. Hopefully whatever ugly happened to the USA in the 1960s and 70s is gone forever.

When viewing the daylight drive-throughs, there must have been a time when courtesy globe lights were in every yard. It is interesting to see that some of them are still functioning. Some areas actually looked 1950s quaint and cozy. This was fantastic, Charlie! Thanks.
Those familiar "globe lights" were sold by Detroit Edison. In the old days, your electric bill had info on how to purchase one from them. There was a discount available for seniors and low-income families.

It's heartbreaking to see home after home still standing in long rows without a light to be seen when so many need housing in cold weather or hot!😪 Homes just like them stand strong and proud and filled with people in London Ontario only 2 hours as the crow flies! Houses that because they are livable bring decent prices and were built to last! If I had a magic wand I'd wave away all the burnt out buildings and strip the owners of the livable empty, boarded ones and give them to the general public to refurbish as what they are meant to be - homes!
