Born and raised in the city stop going to one area which is Linwood area. Detroit has affluent areas alll over the city. And that area is being redeveloped. Go to Palmer Woods, Rosedale Park, Indian Village, Sherwood Forest, drive up a notch and you will be in the Boston Edison district with Manisons. So when people are breaking their necks to move here EVEN THOUGH YOUR SHOWING THAT PART IT IS A REASON WHY!
TAKE A TRIP TO THE MIDDLE EAST, OR LA NOW WHATS THE DIFFERENCE. TAKE JOBS OVERSEAS AND WIPE OUT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND SEE WHAT YOU GET.

I'm not that familiar with Detroit but I noticed the same as you mention in Dayton, Ohio. 25 years ago a mass of wrecked homes. Nowadays lots of 'em are getting fixed up, property taxes going up, etc. Same in Vegas where I am now. No more cheap, falling apart homes these days. All bought up. Hopefully whatever ugly happened to the USA in the 1960s and 70s is gone forever.

Freezing cold and dark too. That and the high crime was tolerable when the factories were pumping out cars and big paychecks.
    I miss old Detroit.

    Hey there, Wrong Way Peachfuzz!.➡🚙!😄!
It's heartbreaking to see home after home still standing in long rows without a light to be seen when so many need housing in cold weather or hot!😪 Homes just like them stand strong and proud and filled with people in London Ontario only 2 hours as the crow flies! Houses that because they are livable bring decent prices and were built to last! If I had a magic wand I'd wave away all the burnt out buildings and strip the owners of the livable empty, boarded ones and give them to the general public to refurbish as what they are meant to be - homes!
As a Canadian who lived within waving distance of Michigan I remember what it used to be like. I pray that it will be that again!
PS you do know that a stop sign actually means you come to a full stop, right?😁👍
