Thank you for all that info, I have been wondering for a while about the primary elements in a Dutch pour. You have answered ALL my??? and I am very happy with what you had to say. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Erica, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time you took to experiment and find a way to use our pigments successfully in a Dutch pour!!! I’m primarily a Dutch pour artist and tried initially a number of ways to make the pigments work - unsuccessfully! The is life changing as your results are flip pin’ stunning!!!!! You are my HERO!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my brother these days :)
Hi Erica, this piece is beautiful, love the colours you chose, and the cells are just amazing. Thank you for your time, I've enjoyed this video very much. x
Thank you so much. I tried the Polypour with Primary Elements in a Dutch pour and it didn’t work which surprised me as I was under the impression that Polypour was for fluid art. You solved my problem. 👏
Firstly your Dutch pours using the primary elements are fantastic and the colours are so vibrant and glossy. Thanks for your information on mixing the PE it was extremely helpful as I have heard conflicting reports about them and even though I have a set, I’ve been reluctant to use them. I’m looking forward to experimenting with the gloss gel. 🥰
Thank you so much for making this video….I have just bought some primary elements and really struggled in the UK to find something to bind them with to do a pour. Really appreciate your time and effort. If it wasn’t so expensive to buy from the USA (import taxes/duties etc) I would very gratefully use your code too. Marvellous.
Oh Erica!! Both pieces are truly stunning!! Thanks for all your hard work 😓 on figuring this out. Just beautiful!! I just got some Colourarte Payne’s grey in and that color is gorgeous!! I’m not good at Dutch pours. But I’m willing to give it another shot. You’ve inspired me!!! Thanks’
Absolutely one of the BEST Dutch pours I have ever seen! Been tryimg to decide which pigments to purchase between PE and another brand but after seeing this, I've now decided on PE! Gorgeous x x x 💕🤗
Totally love this. You did a great job. Your explanation of what to use with the ColorArt pigments was wonderful and I am going to try it. Love your paintings. Thank you for sharing
Hello Erica I am a newbie to your channel... wow what you do with just paint and water and no floetrol... thank you for sharing I am learning more and more everyday day.
Just amazing work ,,I live in Ireland too ,,so I watch your videos very carefully to see what products you use so I can buy them ..again wonderful work. Charlie
Beautiful, Erica! You’ve got Kanella madly excited about this - she can’t keep still! Bless you for showing us how to mix primary elements. I use mostly Pebeo mixed with PVA glue. Seems to be ok. Sometimes I add a bit of dragonfly glaze to one or two of the colours; that’s always fun! I’m in Wiltshire England so not too far from you in N. Ireland. Love & hugs xx
This was an extremely informative video and your Dutch pours were absolutely gorgeous. That Indian Spice is amazing. I've also been experimenting with adding something to the paint in a Dutch pour, in conjunction with water, to use less paint & make it stretch further. My favourite mix is floetrol/Elmers Glue All and Liquitex gloss medium, but I'm still working out the ratios. Too much glue and it becomes rubbery and doesn't glide properly, but too much gloss medium and you don't get the cells. It's a toughie. Also, just to add a big thank you for filling my order for Colorarte products - it was well packaged, arrived very quickly and the surprise gift was a lovely thought. I'm saving up to buy some more Colorarte goodies from you in the future 😁♥️♥️
Thank you so very much for sharing this. Kanella pointed this out for me when watching her latest video. I was just wondering if they could be used for a Dutch pour. Thank you so much for sharing this, I know it has taken you a lot of time and paints to figure this out. I appreciate it very much. Thanks again.
I love this. Do you think I could pull this off (loving this color combo) with your glue recipe and with regular Artist Loft/Liquitex tubed paints? It seems like I would need to use an awful lot of Amsterdam paint as it's or the base. thankyou!
You give a lot of great tips Erica! So have to settled on a formula to extend the base paint other than water, to use with the top colors of Golden medium and the colourart pigments?
Hi Erica, love watching your videos. I'm new to all this and as yet haven't tried doing a dutch pour. I don't have any primary elements but have some cosmic shimmer mica powders. Do you think these will work instead?
Thank you for sharing your mix with primary elements. I've also wasted a lot of paint, so I'm going to try your recipe. Also, please can you tell me which brand of resin you used, and do you always use the same one?
hi erica i just bought the primary glitz elements and been watching some of your bloom poor videos tell me how much ml paint in the puddle on a 20 inch round board regards from Austria bettina
I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now, and I really enjoy them. Question: Is a White base necessary for dutch pours? I'm doing the top of a night stand, but I don't want to use white as the base. I'm thinking more of a deep chocolate brown (Sargents Acrylics), and then I have golds and turquoises to blow out on top. Any advice? Thanks.
How come you didn't use the polypour instead of the gel? Sorry if you've answered this already. Also have you tried any other micas with this gel to make dutch pours. I bought some micas from a gal in australia when she went out of business and I was thinking maybe they could do what your primary elements are doing.
Hi Erica, Angie here. This may be a stupid question but does this always have so many bubbles? I’m trying to follow this and mine is extremely bubbly. I have tapped it on my table several times. Thank you kindly in advance. Hope you’re having a wonderful day
Your work is a absolutely amazing. I’m so interested in giving it a try myself but wondering what you do to get your canvasses ready to sell. What is your process for varnishing etc.? Any tips welcome, thank you 😃
Tape the backs before you pour. I like to varnish with a coat of resin. Watch some videos on this. I don't have any as I'm new to varnishing with resin but Tammy Anderson Art has a great video on this!!!
Great video and beautiful results as always. It’s a joy to watch you creating these amazing arts. Thank you for all the guidance. 😍🌺 I have a question to ask if that’s OK. Can we use house paint for black base, as we do with white? Vida from London. 🙏 🌺
In case Erica doesn't get to this, yes you definitely can, if you're talking about blooms. In fact any colour really as long as you can get the consistency right and it's not overly gassy.
@@cbrm3067 Thank you very much. I have a coffee table, which I want to do and thought using Amsterdam or Arteza would be too much to use as base. This would be great. Thank you again for your guidance. 🙏❤️
I have never used the golden fluid. I plan to get some at some point. Dying to try them. I would say give it a go on a small scale like an 8 inch canvas and see how it goes. I will most definitely try it out when I get some! ❤
Will a primary element pigment dissolve when added directly into a semi transparent acrylic paint? I’m assuming it wouldn’t work in opaque because it would mute and cover its sparkle
Depending on how much paint you add. You will loose the true colour of the primary Elements. I like to add some of the "bling it sparkles" (check them out the colourarte website) to my tube paints sometimes to make a shimmery colour! @@EricaHughesArt perfect thanks! Sometimes I purchase paint and it just lets me down in the shine department so always looking for something to give it a boost 😊
I think you get that poor result of your base paint mixed with Floetrol, because of the Amsterdam paint, it happen to me... the colours on top laced differently...and smaller...Try a different brand for base...
Thank you for all that info, I have been wondering for a while about the primary elements in a Dutch pour. You have answered ALL my??? and I am very happy with what you had to say. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Gorgeous colors and the shimmer looks awesome. Beautiful painting.

Watching the replay.
Can you do the Golden gloss gel with pigments and don’t add too much water for a bloom?
Those are stunning!! Great info! Thank you so much! Is the Gloss Gel you used the same thing as “gel medium”?
I've used the pigments with golden gloss and Aussie Floetrol and I don't get cells. only wonderful colours!

Very disappointed to find Color Art doesnt offer Paypal option for payment. I wont use anythg else- too risky.
