I like the shopping and hunting, it’s like treasure hunting and frankly it’s an important part of the game, and teaches us viewers what potential is out there
Honestly I quite enjoy seeing the shopping spree. I enjoy seeing what you, a veteran, jump out of your seat over to get idea's of what could be really funny for me and my friends to try out on our coop save
If you bought specific tier 1 or tier 2 weapons (for the rarer weapon types) instead of skipping them you'd probably be able to upgrade them to tier 4 before you find a high tier one in the wild, as having the Arrow mech or AI-controlled shredder mechs in the squad means you will probably vaporize or break any useful weapons in enemy mechs, which only leaves you with damaged or low tier weapons upon rebuilding them. The only Battlemech I know with 10 ballistic hardpoints is the original Bane (Kraken). Bane - Clan UAC/2 *x10* (five per arm), Machine Gun x4 Bane 2 - Clan UAC/10 x4, Machine Gun x4 Bane 3 - Clan LRM 15 x8 *(EIGHT)* , One-Shot Streak SRM4 x1 Bane 4 - Clan UAC/20 x2, ATM 6 x3, Clan ER Large Laser x1 Bane 5 - Clan RAC/2 x4, Clan LRM 10 x2, Clan ER Large Laser x1 Bane 6 - Protomech AC/2 *x10* (five per arm), Clan ER Medium Laser x4 Bane 7 - HAG/40 x2, Clan Large Pulse Laser x1, Clan ER Medium Laser x4 Bane XR - Clan RAC/2 x4, Streak LRM10 x2, Clan ER Large Laser x1
Every since this game came out, shopping for better parts has been a big part of this game. The mechlab is important as well. Personally, I live for DPS because I use much smaller mechs. There is nothing like obliterating multiple assault mechs with a medium mech.
Harjel still has a very good use even if you have black carapace and hardened ferro. Combine it with hardened armor. You get x2 armor for x2 weight, and with harjel it's self repairing. It doesn't repair as well as hardened ferro but there is a lot more of it, and it works great for melee mechs since they don't really need weapons aside from maybe a couple lasers to take out vtols. A single LPL is usually sufficient, or even a hyper laser if you're using TSM instead of hotseat. Alternately you could use a couple ER medium lasers as flyswatters for lower heat and make use of quicscell heat sink removal kits to free up weight for more armor.
Hi Baradul, about Kingcrab, in my own experience, for more stable damage output, it need to have about 6 double bin of AP gauss ammo and 4 AP guns ( instead of 6) 1 double bin of clan missile and 1 missile launcher, clan XL engine, armor hardended ferro, 2 Clan ER M Laser, NO spede leg actuators, compact gyro (give 2 slot in CT), clan EW + AP, rest is armor it up, with additional armor (if have free slots).
Hardened ferro doesn't increase weapon heat. It gives more armour overall but also takes up more space. If you got the slots and weight, it's superior but you can fit black carapace into more builds although heat may be a problem.
Hardened Ferro is the best of the best, extremely expensive. It needs to take up 2 slots in all areas minus the head. It will mess up a few good builds, but you gain the best defense available in YAML.
You can change torso stuff on the Direwolf HO. It's my favorite mech other than maybe my Melee Atlas. Kraken and Kaiju (Which is actually named Ebirah BTW) are pretty close second.
Bara, there is an Atlas-IICP or something with a similar name that has the PIRATE quirk that lets you overload the mech. The basic Atlas-P is not the mech that lets you overload it.
I love your Triple 0 KC! I don't think it is necessary to apologize for the building segments, Surely the majority of us are here for that part just as much as the testing of the builds in battle. I am mostly light/medium pilot from MWO, but I installed MW5 this year and it has really helped me appreciate heavy and assault mechs in a new light. I have this feeling I'm moving away from piloting locusts and assassin's and Im starting to pilot things like Orion's or Atlas's now.
are we doing daily's till the expansion comes out? shopping is a major part of the game if you want better stuff. i only play vanilla and when i get some c-blls i go shopping, maybe in the late game its not so important but it is in the early game when those medium and heavy mechs are really good
In my experience, the AP Gauss cause pain upto about 5-600m. If you could find double bins, triple your ammo, and just fire all the damn time, I bet you could break 8k damage.
So... you've discovered the Blackjack Arrow? I am not playing modded (yet), but in vanilla MW5, the six MGs basically melt through armor. I regularly take down assault mechs with it.
@Baradul Could you show us your active mod list please? I am trying to get the same operations as shown in all your previous videos so I can play MW5 on my own system and I'm running into a few issues. (I fixed the crashing issue I had previously)
did i see that right, I LXP Laser (Improved Large X Pulse Laser? ) oO hope u try them out sometime, those Heavy Lasers dont seem to be the end all be all * ^^ *
How would someone make a mech variant of their own to put into the game? I have a couple of different ones I’d love to play. A Mad Dog variant and a Bushwacker variant.
is that a bug to lose all engine heatsinks with the Radical PDHS kit? oO was wondering why weight of the KG droped to 95 and no heatsink slots are shown anympre after the swap of the kits...
If you pause at 28:13 when he is looking at Radical PDHS, you can barely see in the text "Does not allow for additional heat sinks in the engine" right above the heat efficiency. Gotta read the fine print. Radical DHS allows heatsinks in the engine, Radical PDHS does not
Instead of a Banshee-P you would be better off with an Atlas-P. Its effectivly the same but gives you 5 more tons to play with and has more of a variety of Hardpoints in addition to being able to wield a melee weapon with Melee Specializtion.
But the Banshee also gets Hulk smash quirk for more melee damage and cooldown. So it outperforms the atlas in pure melee damage I believe, but yes, the Atlas has more weapons/hardpoints choices.
For the love of the gods man look at medium rifles... I am pretty sure 3 stacked with you ballistic stuff will kill cockpits with one shot pinpoint. Definitely 4 will. Light rifles are fun on light mechs for back shots.
Even heavy rifles are fine. They all have great damage, and people look down on them for super long cooldown. But if you focus on overheating a mech first with your primary weapons (inferno srms, plasma rifle/cannon, etc) and only use the rifle to leg or headshot, then it becomes a very useful weapon. Otherwise, unless your aim is good, you tend to miss shots against moving targets.
@@thegreatlarry9454 yep. Just heavys are well, heavy lol. And the cool done is very long as well as range sucks compared to med. Besides if you miss the cockpit what ever you did hit is pretty borked. Even just one med is great in vanilla if used right.
Can't put any self-repair in the head, would be too overpowered. I usually run armored cockpit for that reason, to be able to last longer in warzone and other never-ending missions.
Making a guess: Blackjack BJ-A, 6 x Gatling machine guns, 3 x Flamers(C) (+supercharger, masc, jumpjets, armor NSS, AMS, for a scout which can kill a distress call mech with 45dps with t1 weapons - or 50dps with TC advanced balistic for a less speedy solo build, but more ammo for a full mission)
@@victorlapin2080 Well, that's the only hero Blackjack! :) As for the weapons, I don't really think that's what he'll build, because I don't remember buying/looting such stuff (unless he did it off screen, as he said he did some store checking). But these are, I think, the most dps + weight efficient ones. He was buying (heavy?) machine guns x4 or so, iirc.
Probably would survive most low damage weapons, since it will repair. But one good hit from a high damage weapon will still take off a leg or other part before repair kicks in.
I have a question ??? Why does Mech Warrior 5 showcase a squad of mechs as just 4 vehicles??? Because in most modern day military’s,, a squad is a unified unit of 12 to 24 members. Depending upon how the unit is organized. A fire 🔥 team , is a section of a squad,, that is between 4 and 8 members or appox. 1/4 to 1/2 a squad, I think they have kind of over looked that little fact here in this game . A platoon,, is usually a group of 4 companies which hold 2 sections each. A brigade of soldier’s,, usually consists of 4 platoon’s each,, and a army Division is a war monster,, that usually contains appox. 4 brigade’s of troopers in it.😊🎉😊
You should leverage upgrading weapons more. Even if its a little expensive its better than trying to wait for higher tier stuff at this phase of the game.
If anyone has these items try building an Orion with an AC20 of some kind, Clan Advanced SRMs, hardened Ferro armor and supercharger/clan Masc. It's a mega fun brawler.
So annoying to go through entire industrial zones with zero AP gauss on sale. Built a Dire Wolf with maximum number of gatling machine guns instead. 120k ammo goes down range ridiculously fast.
I think the modding makes this game too complicated, personally. Worrying over all the little technical details really takes away from the stompy-stompy / shooty-shooty time.
I like the shopping and hunting, it’s like treasure hunting and frankly it’s an important part of the game, and teaches us viewers what potential is out there

Same, this is part of the reason I like this channel - he shows the shopping and build parts.
You need to make LOOT PINATA a t-shirt with an Urbie on it!

I love Battlemaster 1GHE. I can make them sing the enemies destruction:)
I love the shopping and building aspect of this episode. Great stuff!!!

What's really cool is watching my AI Pilots obliterate assault mechs with smaller mechs.

Shopping and building loadouts is like half the game! I play it mostly to tinker with Mechs haha.
Bara I love the exploring and planet jumping for equipment. It helps a lot to see what you find in the stores!
Hardened Ferro is the best of the best, extremely expensive. It needs to take up 2 slots in all areas minus the head. It will mess up a few good builds, but you gain the best defense available in YAML.
Yeah the weight penalty and two slots in every component are more costly than the c-bills
I once played an Endgame Battlefront , the spawns were so bad that the base was dead before I was even out the hanger
I won't spoil it for you.... but there is a VERY GOOD ppc to be found in game. I came across it last night.
Pretty baby would LOVE it !!!
Build episodes are fun because we get to see the new toys!
You can change torso stuff on the Direwolf HO. It's my favorite mech other than maybe my Melee Atlas. Kraken and Kaiju (Which is actually named Ebirah BTW) are pretty close second.
i was thinkin Hohiro is probably well suited for that, right? love it myself, mix clan gauss and trip erppc in my case..
Bara, there is an Atlas-IICP or something with a similar name that has the PIRATE quirk that lets you overload the mech. The basic Atlas-P is not the mech that lets you overload it.
Need to find the MGCANNON2's only 43 million each but 4 of those outdamage everything. If you get the Bane2 Lady Killer mech you can equip 8 of them.
not scooping up all the clan ammo double bins when they're found is f'n wild
Don't worry about taking time to shop. It is part of the game.
Finally a super olking crab

Your videos popped up and made me reinstall mw5. You may not be running it in this episode but what mode added the clan invasion and conflict zones?
I think the YAML family of mods and Coyote mission are the ones you are looking for
In my experience, the AP Gauss cause pain upto about 5-600m. If you could find double bins, triple your ammo, and just fire all the damn time, I bet you could break 8k damage.
Yay ! Another daily dose of crazy mech builds 🥳
The Orion at @31:10 and the Quickdraw at 31:20 are so derps! :D
Nah mate, the gear hunting and building is very enjoyable :D
Please do a build around the PPCs with capacitors. I am interested to see how they work.

Yes please!!
Just be aware that once the new DLC comes out most mods will stop working
I actually appreciate you spending your c Bill's to science weapon and internal systems, instead of mine.
For real, i would like to see a full plasma build.
Bara get the zoom mod. 4x zoom will change your life (and headshots). 8x zoom if your pc can handle it. I find 4x is good enough

Hey @Baradul I tried putting some mods on my install but it broke the game. I assume you are playing from steam. I am on epic. Any suggestions?

Which mod are using to identify hero Mechs in cold storage. I see the names are in yellow.
a TSM melee build would be fun. maybe lasers or PPCs to build the heat
maybe plasma and/or flamers for heat? both your own and the enemie's that is 😛
couldnt you put the facecam between the paperdoll of your mech and the map?

I love a good build episode man keep it coming
Just wish the game will give you a lot of harshell3
great vid but i have a thought. how about ap gauss with plasma rifles. plasma to heat'em up and shut'em down ap to tear'em open

Black Carapace on a Pirate's Bane Locust. Would be interesting to see if it could survive long enough
Any idea what in-game year the black carapace becomes available?
Probably would survive most low damage weapons, since it will repair. But one good hit from a high damage weapon will still take off a leg or other part before repair kicks in.

Blackjack Arrow with AP gauss or, since its quirked for MGs i assume something crazy like a gatling MG boat?

Annihilaters have a bunch of hard points.. lots of space.. just really slow, unles..
Shopping!!!! More retail therapy needed.....
If you want dps, load an atlas a with srms and masc/sc
✌
I don't get the move to the crab. You can build the same thing with the DW.
I do not mind the building part at all.

Hopped back in for the Dire in MWO after 2 Years. Instant re-addicted. Damn I love Mech Games.
Bro we can't see your money and your upkeep, would be interesting to see these things
Making weapon upgrades only take cbills would be nice, instead of hoarding so many weapons.
if i could get u to ever use 4 clan lbx 10 on 1 mech you would be greatly surprised
I think the modding makes this game too complicated, personally. Worrying over all the little technical details really takes away from the stompy-stompy / shooty-shooty time.
