People have always marched against aggression, oppression and wars of conquest. They all claim the Arabs started a war back in 1948, but not all wars begin through violent action. Many start because one people believe they have more rights than another.
Greater Israel may have existed in ancient history, but so did many other civilisations upon the same land.
I honestly feel like the world has completely lost its mind because if this were a movie and we saw millions of people herded into the size of a small borough in London we'd be absolutely furious. Then watch stories of terrified people evicted irrespective of age nor health in the middle of the night for no reason whatsoever other than to make way for more immigrants. We would see children playing beside a huge wall and their parents looking at their old village being bulldozed. Suddenly we hear people screaming and arguing as one of the villagers argues with the soldiers that they have no right to take his home and then he is eliminated. People run and shout for help but noone is listening. The police are already there and unfortunately for the villagers, the police are not on their side.
The next day the parents meet the family who they saw through the crack, exhausted and grieving the loss of their family member and their home. All they have is the clothes on their back and nowhere to go but Gaza.
This is the story from the perspective of the true victims of this almost century long conflict. When the British gave control to the UN and Isrsel announced its statehood, the lives of the people who were currently living in British mandate Palestine changed forever. Now, they were no longer welcomed on their land or homes. Businesses were taken, equipment and industries. The zionist movement came to Palestine and came to rule, not to share.
The Palestinians were never given a choice and every subsequent "deal" offered to them always included control by the Isrseli government. Noone would have accepted these deals because they hugely favoured the minority population at the time of around 20% jews who wanted more than half of the territory and certain controls over Palestinian territories. Why? Because they knew they had the backing of Western powers and sympathy from the holocaust.
To anyone who says the "war" started on Oct 7th, you clearly have absolutely no idea whats been going on in the region for a century. Either that or its complete intellectual dishonesty used in order to promote a political ideology. Its manipulative and indicative of the propaganda and the whitewashing of Palestinian identity. Otherwise known as ethnic cleansing.
The fact that there are huge religious undercurrents to this conflict also on shows that peace does not come from theism. Its been used as a tool throughout history to justify horrific acts of violence and mass suffering.
