And to think that Saitama is about to unleash his most devastating punch yet and it ends on a cliffhanger, I think it’ll most likely be interrupted when Blast transports them both to a different location so the earth won’t be obliterated from the clash. But surely this is an 11/10 chapter, I have never been this hyped from a single chapter from any manga until now.

You know it!!!! The look of rage on his face shows that he is ready to kill. It’s always a delight to see Saitama show more of his emotions but that panel of him in the black rain is next level
saitama was always chill seeing genos near death because he knew that boy could be fixed, but this time he got genos' heart thrown at him really showed him the consequence of being late

5:00 when Genos and Garou had fought in season 2, Genos had mentioned about Master Saitama who is "stronger than any monster that exists" and Garou looked interested, that's where he knew about Saitama not mind reading or something.

Garou knew that Genos was with Saitama because wayyy back when they first fought, Genos was bragging about how his master Saitama is way beyond any other hero. Garou is smart enough to know that "caped baldy" was Saitama due to him being way above anything he fought.
Yeah I think this is it. Garou is smart he could make sense of the situation with context clues.
But it still doesn't explain why Garou knows Saitama's name to even have "mode: Saitama". As I recall Saitama has never told Garou his name.

@@Left4hire exactly yeah, he said "my master Saitama is beyond s class and unbeatable", he fought the caped baldy (that knocked him out multiple times and he remembered) and got slam dunked by him, he just put 2 and 2 together and realized that was the final boss character Geno's was talking about (also you have to keep in mind his whole arc happens in like a week)

This is, hands down, the BEST moment in the OPM Manga, not only is this a significant moment for Saitama, in which the only person he ever felt any sorta affection for is killed, but also for Garou, in which was the first hero who, with his own hands, killed, truly cementing a pinnacle moment for both of these characters.
This chapter was crazy. Garou is really “Absolute Evil” now. I can’t wait to see Saitama humble him in the upcoming chapters though. The real protagonist of the story is taking his position back.
My bets are on Blast teleporting them into another dimension only to have Garou get absolutely destroyed by Saitama's serious punch. He might be able to copy the technique, but he can't copy the power behind it.

8:57 I really like the page where Saitama and Garou both use Serious Punch. The thing that got me the most about that page was how Saitama (Human) had a more monterous face and Garou (Monster) had a more human-ish face. Absolutely beautiful this manga is!

True, way back in the chapters Genos said Garou "My master is beyond any hero you know." Garou isn't just some dumdum antagonist he deduces that Saitama is Genos' master. He only know Saitama by name, until when they fought.
I thoroughly enjoy how One Punch Man has just gradually just grown in scale to heights that we really never thought they'd get too. I mean when I watched the first episode I never would have though that it would have gotten THIS heavy or even life threatening for Saitama. It reminds me of Gurren Lagaan in some cases, but GL took a sharp turn in scale towards the end where as this was just a very gradual shift.
No life threat for wait saitama , garou mentioned that he wants to copy and refine full powet of saitama.

A serious punch isn't Saitamas ultimate. It's him actually trying a little. I know he said it was his ultimate move but that was too make Boros feel better about his defeat.
Can we take some time to appreciate what a genuine good guy Blast turned out to be? Before he was introduced I thought for sure he would be a douchebag, or maybe too apathetic to go on being a hero kinda like a late stage Saitama, but he really is only concerned about the safety of others. All he's done since the moment he jumped out of that portal is try to deescalate the situation
I think you don't understand. Most of heroes are jerk, but they're hero. Snek the snake martial artist he's a jerk but he always fight till everyone ok. Even amai mask doing hero stuff till the end.

It's insane to me how the right shading can make an instantly recognizable expression (Saitama's neutral face) into one that you've not seen yet. Malice, mourning and guilt all twisted into one blank, hollow gaze. Really, being able to convey such emotion is a serious talent. Props to the artist(s). And I cannot wait to see Saitama get even more serious than "Serious".

That look as he was throwing that punch. Saitama has slain most foes with little effort and even accidently, but the look conveys pure rage, I'm fairly certain that Saitama intends to kill Garou, what tells me is the line that says he guesses he doesn't really have the instinct of a hero after all. In my time understanding tropes and such, the act of no longer holding back is often a last resort intended to finish off their foes, often for good dependent on how truly evil they are. This conflict is really only just starting, he tried diffusing the situation all he could but now it has seemingly costed him the life of Genos. Either way if he saves Garou or not, this will really be the fight of a lifetime.
For me saitama isn't really a hero... It may sound selfish because others would say that he has the responsibility to save others because he got strength to do it, but he's just your ordinary guy who just wants a peaceful neighborhood and just wants to chill around at the comfort of his home.

Finally, there is someone who understands the story plot on the manga now... See, actually, One Punch Man is more than just a manga for amazing action, but I am really glad they are bringing out the dark themes lurking in the OPM scenes. OPM is more than what we know actually. I just hope more people will understand the writer's creativity of the story.
Anyways, I am so hyped for the next chapter. 😊
when Saitama catch Genos's core, and start remind his past with Genos, is equal to Reigen moment during press conference, ...Genos is the one who persistently barge into his life, keep calling him sensei, following him everywhere, doing house chores, pay rent money, and listen to whatever he said, and still thank Saitama despite Saitama doing almost nothing of Genos progress....it is deep enough to make him actually question about his own hero motivation, and then snaps knowing that Genos reminds him that, with his life
Garou is so different than other one punch man characters..he is quite literally a different breed from others..
Cosmic garou is a terrofying menace..the panel where he stand in the middle of saitama and blast is breathtaking..
NO other character can stand between saitama and blast and survive that long..

I wouldn't say that Saitama will "have to fight for his life" or having a hard time in "surviving" Garou. Saitama will struggle, but not against Garou's attacks, but rather keeping the promise to Tareo of not killing Garou, which will now be even more difficult because Garou is drunk with the sliver of power he got from God, he can copy Saitama's moves etc., but there is one thing that is hindering Garou from actually beating Saitama: the limitations of the universe. Saitama is literally not following the "laws of the universe", and Garou is limited by the laws of the universe itself.
Another thing; when we get a look of the "bloodied Saitama", I believe that's not Saitama's blood or that he is even wounded; it's Genos' "blood" and Saitama is just, well, "dirty" from all the debris and combat, but not wounded.
In short: Saitama will struggle to not kill Garou, and he's not "wounded" but dirty from combat and debris.

During Red Garou’s debut Genos tells him that there’s a man unrivaled in strength and mentions him by name, which shows Garou with peaked interest saying “Master Saitama...?”. So he likely remembers Genos mentioning that fact and used it to his advantage.

@@genlaz1 oh for sure he’s not dead. If he is I would be more shocked. This is just the worst Genos has ever had it as we’ve seen multiple instances where he’s used his core to power an attack or was going to use his core to self detonate in a difficult battle. He’s always been “awake” or “functioning” in any instance he’s been beaten down kind of like Krillin throughout most of his losses in DBZ. This time though, from his core being ripped clean out of his chest, he’s probably completely “shut down”.
What I think is going to happen is that Dr. Kuseno installed something of a backup power to keep his brain alive if the core was damaged/removed and ultimately he will survive the ordeal. The core itself isn’t damaged, maybe he could make use of Child Emperor, Dr. Kuseno or someone else to reinstate the core after this is all done. I don’t know if he’s going to keep holding onto it during the fight though - he’s probably going to toss it to Blast after they (potentially) get moved to another dimension and he’s gonna settle this fight with Garou. Meanwhile Blast warps back to those on Earth and gives the core to someone who can revive Genos.

Yeah on my first read of the chapter I was super confused by it, but after about a minute I managed to put two and two together. Really goes to show Garou can remember a lot of things and that probably contributes to his adaptability. Hopefully Genos has some kind of saving grace here because I would hate to see him die for real.
Here to say, King is actually pretty strong physically when others are passed out and trying to protect over Fubuki & Tatsumaki. Genuinely invested on what will transpire out of him after this.
Who knows the radiation poisoning may trigger within him with some talents or enhance his good luck to spawn Saitama more frequently in future.
Imagine if he gets superhuman strength as a mutation from radiation

The changes from the webcomic have been incredible. And even changes within Murarata’s story itself a few chapters back! This is the most hyped I’ve been in years.

@@Katan509 Blast was never fully revealed in the comic, and Garou did not reach the level of power he has now in the manga. I'm pretty sure the manga is going towards a much more different path as compared to the comic.
@@Katan509 in the web comic the fight ended with Saitama at a table with gorou before he powered up to this hidden form. Saitama was gonna talk to him about his issues and why he wanted to be a "monster"

It's stated he can copy and refine abilities but that has nothing to do with his durability. So though he might dish out Saitama's full power of not stronger he can't sustain said hits forever and eventually will be overwhelmed.

How about "The One Punch".
I think the faces shown on Saitama and Garou when they’re each throwing serious punches at each other could have a deeper meaning. Garou’s face is mimicking the face that Saitama has had when we’ve previously seen him do his serious punch move. This is analogous to when Garou copied Saitama’s consecutive normal punches, except that time, their faces were identical and the conflict ended in a draw. However this time Saitama’s face has almost become that of a monster which could be hinting that this time Saitama is using a level of power that is too great for Garou to fully replicate. This could also be inferred from the previous chapter when Saitama apologises for being unable to keep his promise with Tareo about not killing/hurting Garou suggesting he was about to go all out. I think the next chapter will show how Saitama’s power is so unimaginably large that not even cosmic Garou can stand up to it and we’ll see Garou lose in a pretty one sided way just like how all of the other fights end up for villains against Saitama.

Garou doesnt read Genos' mind. I think he puts 2 and 2 together from what he knows about saitama from his last encounter with both Saitama and Genos and realising the Master genos was talking about was probably saitama. Maybe he was able to 'read' the name saitama because Idts anybody told garou the name saitama before he did mode: saitama.

Now that Blast experiences Saitama's true level, I've been waiting for it so badly.
You forgot to mention at the end that probably blast will teleport them both to somewhere safe (another dimension) so they can fight it all out without any worry of destroying the planet.

Blast really showing why he's the #1 hero. He is much less concerned with defeating garou in the moment as he is concerned with saving everyone. I have a feeling that garou wouldn't stand a chance if blast got him to agree to fighting in another dimension

Yeah the term I've heard is Black Rain. It happened after the Hiroshima nuke went off and a lot of ash went into the atmosphere and when it rained the rain contained radioactive materials. There was a shirt donated in 2012 to a museum that had black stains on it and they tested it and it was radioactive. It was from a girl who was there when the nuke went off in 1945 and the shirt was rained on afterwards

I feel like even though Garou is using the same technique as Saitama, I don't think his strength would compare to saitama's, as saitama really only uses brute strength never being interested in actually using an actual fighting style besides for aesthetics. He doesn’t actually care about the people around him most of the time anyways besides maybe King and Genos, who is now “dead”. And he REALLY wants Garou dead now. Earlier in the comic he said that he really felt like destroying everything and now that desire is just being pushed further now that he lost someone he cared about. So I kinda think Blast it going to end up sending them both to a different place to handle their fight while he handles the injured

Also, one of the few, if not only thing I liked about Garou in this is that he proves the whole issue with the “Extremist with Good Intentions” trope full way throughout the arc and previous appearances. The supposed “Hero Hunter” wanted to aid society from all the corrupt and hidden monsters that went behind a heroic guise but he ended up sinking in his own malevolent juices; a sort of tragic version of “He Who Fights Monsters Will Find Himself Become One” trope. By the end of this arc; I hope Saitama puts Garou down for the good of the multiverse as the former hunter has fallen too deep and sunk to low to be redeemed in this case, the killing of Genoa was probably the final nail that sealed his fate to combat the ultimate hero.
Saitama has been holding back all this time but after him thinking that he might not really have the intuition of a hero it is probably the last push to actually make Saitama go all out welp even God can't save Garou now

Definitely agree with this! ONE PUNCH MAN is actually really creative and amazing! It is just that people are more enticed by the drawing art style rather than paying attention to the deeper meaning behind the story plot of ONE's story. 😣
But still, I am more thrilled about how OPM has gotten, and they creatively made this chapter that way.

Really cool chapter with Garou matching even blast! Genos being absolutely destroyed caught me by total surprise but I think he's probably going to somehow be revived seeing that hes got a lot more to do in the webcomic

I feel like even though Garou is using the same technique as Saitama, I don't think his strength would compare to saitama's, as saitama really only uses brute strength never being interested in actually using an actual fighting style besides for aesthetics. 5:00 Garou knew about saitama/genos' master when genos said to him when he was hunted by genos in s2. genos said that his master is the strongest and he cant be defeated by any monster (or something like that). Garou figured out that it was saitama, since he never faced anyone that strong before.
What I really like about heroes in one punch man they always fight all out until out of commission. Saitama once said if the heroes run away who will save the day. Saitama always give a respect to all heroes, because no matter how strong or weak they are, they're still heroes.

It would be an amazing scene if while Saitama and Gorou are about to throw those huge punches. Blast decides to send both of them to a different dimension. Blast panicking, because he thinks the earth is about to get destroyed, he messes up and keeps sending them to different dimensions. As they slow down Saitamas and Gorous punch. Then both fist connect and they end up destroying a whole galaxy or something.
Hopefully Dr.Kusogi backed up Genos, and his memories. I feel like Genos is now going to be more of a complete robot in future.

Genos will probably only remember the last time he got upgraded(before he joins the war) if Dr. Kuseno revives him.
Getting an upgrade, your memories will be backed up incase something bad happens to the upgrade then that backed up memory will be useful.
If Kuseno wants to revive Genos, Kuseno will just use a backed up memory chip from last time he got upgraded 'cuz Genos brain is gone .

I could imagine Blast has to go full out now and besides dimension warp techniques he has to use a very difficult and highly energy consuming time warp technique. With it he gets himself bck to the point god takes Bang´s appearance and talk to Garou. Before anything between those two can happen Blast inteferes by taking garou somewhere else and let him go. Blast is perhaps exhausted now because time manipulation is a total higher effort than dimensions. But now we would be back to a safe position , having everything under control. Genos survives , earth survives too ^_^' and Saitamas quest for seeking a worthy opponent is back again (because I think ist can only be fulfilled at the very end of One Punch Man )

It is obviously a shame in this case, since I am a viewer that comes to Plot Armor after reading the chapter myself to get commentary by someone that expertly narrates the shere HYPE I am having while reading it myself, which Otaku is just a master in. I feel this weeks update is such an unlucky week for us, because this Chapter was just so immensely impactful, that I feel this video's format was just not able to do it justice.

I love how in the panel where they throw the punch, the monster has a human face, and the human has a monsters look.
Hmm. So saitama is resistant to nuclear poisoning, gamma ray burst, tectonic shifting level of impact, meteor falling to the earth, he can probably break out of black hole if he wishes. God Garou will probably use supernova as last resort, and Saitama with his full powered punch will create a Big Bang and punch God out of Garou's body. Garou with his understanding of all types of energy will use some kind of healing energy to cure everyone and restore power to Genos's core. Saitama lets him go with big objections from other heroes. End of arc with Saitama wondering where he will live from now on.
