Getting the aforementioned error? If so, here's a quick video on how to fix it!
THE FASTEST WORKAROUND:
Uncheck the "Virtualize CPU performance counters" option from "Hardware/Processors" tab of VM.

Hello there! Do you also have enabled Hyper-V? If so, disable the hypervisor and then try booting your VM again. You may also try disabling Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT or AMD-V-RI and Virtualize CPU performance counters under VM Settings > Processors > Virtualization Engine.
There might be other reasons as to why you are seeing this error message. Try updating your VMware version, check for OS updates, or if you have just recently updated your machine, see if this has made any changes to the VM behaviour.
