    Thank you so much !
    there's a little mistake in the line to be added
    it's ( monitor.allowLegacyCPU = "true" ) instead of ( monitor.allovLegacyCPU = "true" )
    Thank you again

    any idea on why my Vmware Workstation folder is empty .. the config file is missing and I cant edit it

    • @AutomationDojos
      @AutomationDojos  2 года назад

      Interesting! Here are the possible reasons i think you should explore :
      1) Make sure VMWare has read/write access to ProgramData location.
      2) Make sure win file explorer is set to 'show hidden files'
      3) The 'config' file gets created ONCE you have made some custom tweaks and settings to 'DEFAULT' configuration. If you never made any custom preferences ever then file may not exist. In this case try making some edits via VMWare 'Preferences' and it should trigger creation of config file.
      4) If the above does not work, try creating a config file 'manually'
      Lastly, the location may also dependent on your OS (WinXP, Win7, Win10 etc)

      @@AutomationDojos Hi and first of all thanks for your fast respond, I did all the steps u mentioned and at this point I think only creating the file manually will work for me but I dont know how to do that. Any chance I could download your config file from somewhere? Would really appreciate if u have the time to do that for me as it seems the last and only solution for me. Thanks in advance

      @@blagoishimov5479 No problem! If you want to create config file manually just pause this youtube video at 06:00 and write down the contents into your own file and save it as '.ini'. Its just 4-5 lines that is all, here I copied it here in this chat as well (note, its a hack. may or may not work) :
      authd.client.port = "902"
      authd.proxy.nfc = "vmware-hostd:ha-nfc"
      installerDefaults.autoSoftwareUpdateEnabled = "no"
      installerDefaults.autoSoftwareUpdateEnabled.epoch = "20163"
      installerDefaults.componentDownloadEnabled = "yes"
      installerDefaults.dataCollectionEnabled = "no"
      installerDefaults.dataCollectionEnabled.epoch = "20163"

    still this error is persisting .. i am using core 2 duo processor

    • @AutomationDojos
      @AutomationDojos  3 года назад +1

      Vaibhav, Core 2 Duo is quite an old processor, its likely that the options suggested in this video may not work if you are using the latest VMware version like x15 or x16 against core2 duo generation. I would suggest checking if your processor supports VT-x which is required for VMWare? If it does support VT-x then you can give it a try against an equally old VMWare software version like x11 or x12. Because with each new version of VMware software a bunch of old generation processors are generally marked as 'not supported'.
