Like another person who commented about a year ago, I bought a used Silhouette Cameo (with some accessories and vinyl) several years ago at a garage sale and never taught myself how to use it. I have a project I want to do that incentivizes me to learn. Watching someone demonstrate is a quicker way to learn, imo. You've been very helpful, and I look forward to watching related videos on your channel.
Hi Andrea, I just want to thank you for the best intro to the SC out there. I purchased a used one from a trusted crafter I am subscribed to. It took me 2years to get enough confidence to try to learn how to use it. Your video was a great start. I will look for more as well. I didn’t realize this machine was this old. I purchased . I thought I got it for a good price but now I find I really didn’t. I will try to learn to use it now. Thank you this many years later! Happy Day

I just got this Cameo from a friend who didn't want it anymore. I'm looking to use it for scrapbook stuff. I have a cricut joy but like that this is larger. Plus free makes it a bargain.

Excellent Video !! Just received my Cameo last week, having a problem with the cut. Way off, I have check the Calibration, however the left side is lower that the right side of the "Print n Cut", any suggestions would be helpful
Once I load my mat and begin to cut it sometimes doesn't stay straight as it moves inside the machine. I adjusted it to cut and 8.5 paper and I made sure the blue lever was up and the white slide was over to the groves in the middle of the bar but it doesn't always hold the paper??? What am I doing wrong?

l'm looking to do a large number of invitations How long before you need to change the blade? I'm doing a simple clam shape cut but for 300 invitations. Is this not a good idea with the Cameo?
I know it's a little late to help your situation but maybe others still want to know the similar question here. I own one. I cut patterns of small houses , so for simplicity let's just say each sheet of 8.5 x 11 I will cut about 20 small squares of equal size. I can probably cut about 100 sheets before changing the blade. about 10 cents per page given the blade cost. also sometimes you can have problems with build up of residue on the cutting mat that can give you the impression your blade is starting to fail. aslo I'm using 65 lb card stock. this is not as thick as greeting card material so that you have to consider too. there are also a lot of defective blades still circulating the shelves at craft stores from a bad run the company had (is heard ) this would explain why 2 of the 4 blades I got on amazon failed and even flat out broke
I bought this and I love the design portion, but I've tried everything and I cannot adjust the rollers. The right white plastic part won't budge. ARGGH
I am having a difficult time having my computer recognize my silhouette cameo. I have tried many times and it says no silhouette connected. They are connected. Any ideas?
Bought it, did not work. Sent it back and they sent another one. At least that is what I was lead to believe. Still not impressed. But I really would like to be, because I have talked about it's potentials so much that two friends bought their own machines. I guess when I try to cut a downloaded image from the online site... and it fails...ripped the paper as it cut... I become disappointed. I make adjustments and still get nothing but bad cuts.

I had the same issue on Windows 10. I think it is related to the usb version. If I plug the cable into a usb hub I don't have any issues.
So you need to upgrade the software to be able to use your own designs?
