Thanks brother I really appreciate that cuz I'm about to mount tires on my new 17s and I don't want to show too much gap between tire and fender / wheel well.... Yours looks perfect
Nice to see someone finally got the wheels right. On all the other videos of Monte Carlos they always go way to far on the rim size and tire profile. You also did a really good job staggering the wheels as well.
Tires are great. Cornering is fantastic and rain is not an issue with the directional tread. I can't dead stop hammer it or it just smokes the tires. Slow launches from 10mph or so also will break the rear loose but not too many tires are going to keep traction with nearly 400 horses ;)
my cousin had a really nice 86 SS monty white with blue interior sitting on some 16-in Iroc rims it looked really nice. I like your ride man it's pretty sweet.👍🇺🇲💪
Sweetass ride. This is the way the General should have built these cars. Have had 4 and upped the performance of all 4. They were the slickest cars on the road al the way through 88. Thry were grorgeous slugs when it came to performance
The most Beautiful 80s MC SS Ive ever seen. Everything. Please let me know if Anyone has an SS on this level theyd like to trade for a 2011 Charger RT, modded. Clean and Ready.
Beautiful car. I had a '84 non ss version since high school - same color as yours. Always wanted a SS version 84-88. Classic styling...only thing GM dropped the ball on was the engine. Why they didn't throw the TPI 350 in the SS I have no idea. Unreal now a days how under powered the SS's were back then - if I recall - about 180HP with the 'high output' 305. Still...the Regal T-Type and Monte Carlo SS had the best body lines back then.
I think the reason was two-fold--corporate average fuel economy, and they didn't want to kill sales of 350 Camaro and Corvette. Not that it was going to compete with a 2 seat Corvette with no trunk, but then look at the GNX--why mortgage your house for a 'Vette or bother leasing one. GM likely figured enough NASCAR fans were going to buy this no matter what was under the hood, just to get the look.
jjs777fzr I had a 1983 none ss as well my first car when I was 16 my 18th birthday my step dad gave me my 1972 Chevy Chevelle Malibu 350 and my grandpa gave me my 1972 Harley Davidson 900 sportster chopper 7 foot springer front end
Awesome SS Ben...You & your Dad did a Great job...One of the best I've seen...I have the same SS, we bought ours in 87' changed the 305 to a 327 much better...Enjoy her buddy...
Cool car! I have a 86 SS owned by my Mom and would like to lower it just a little bit . I like the way yours looks. I would like to get better handling .
Nice brother I've had 3 84 85 86 ,. Soon all ready no all of what I will custum. Love the scoop does it have flaps that open when you crack the for Barrell, like the z28. I want that with neons that you see when flaps open,. Love it. It's you I'm sure role proud my brother .Dan suffield Ohio. Home of the blimp....
Just got my 1984 Monte Carlo SS. Blue interior, black primer exterior... I believe it was also anniversary blue. I will paint it and it's original color.
Rims are American Racing Torque Thrusts. I will get the backspacing info. They are 17x8 all around. If I remember the sunroof size was something like 22"x 38". The front is dropped 2.5" with drop spindles.
Nice what kinda wheels you going with?? The torq thrusts look good!! I personally went with ridler 675 similar to the torq thrusts ill try to get pics. Im just trying to decide on tire height to keep the gap close im torn between 40 or 50....
Beautiful Monte man Im in the process of getting my 84 ss all finshed up....What size tires u running front and back??? I see there nitto but i can find nittos in a 275/40/17....
I was just wondering 2 things, do u think a 383 would fit in there flush? And this is a general for anyone, but if you wanted to replace the climate controls with one from a newer gen chevy, like in a 93 up vehicle would you probably have to modify the dadh to fit, or no? Nice ss, beautiful
Yeah nitto450 is the only tire i can find with a 275/50/17...i do alittle street and track racing and since i can only find nitto with this size im wondering if they will leave me burning rubber at the line but I'm pretty sure once warmed up they should perform
Nice, just got a dumb question though, Whats the height of your front end? "measuring from the top edge off the center of your wheel well to the ground ,if you know what iam saying lol kiddin hard to explain
The Monte Carlo SS has to be my favorite G-body styling
LocDawgd I agree with you my favorite also 80s V8 muscle cars
I remember when my dad brought this car home in '84. I learned to drive in this car and spent my high school days in it. Never will it be sold!
Gorgeous car, love the color. It's very tastefully done, not too much added to it...looks terrific.
Bad ass SS. Done very tastefully. Perfect color. 10/10
This is what I'm talking about!!! Super clean, nice, original, with a little modern touch, without big rims, and crazy paint. .... I love the car
Best G body monte I’ve seen. The small details make a huge difference
Came here for the second time to look at this beast and I can't get enough of her.
Go get a room! Go take care of your business!
You can look at this car and tell that it was loved and that it handles really good.
So clean and simple
I dont even know how many times I've watched this video. Perfection!
Thanks brother I really appreciate that cuz I'm about to mount tires on my new 17s and I don't want to show too much gap between tire and fender / wheel well.... Yours looks perfect
Thanks, she is a drivers car. No trailer queens at my house!
My first car ( 20 years ago) was my grandparents 1986 Monte Carlo LS. Wish I still had it. Nice video 😊

My dream car. Had an 81 landau in '96 which was my first car. Would LOVE to get my hands in an 84 SS
Nice to see someone finally got the wheels right. On all the other videos of Monte Carlos they always go way to far on the rim size and tire profile. You also did a really good job staggering the wheels as well.
I love the stance, that's the exact look im going for on mine
Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Major props on this lovely machine. That wood wheel, my word. That paint. Everything is perfect.
Tires are great. Cornering is fantastic and rain is not an issue with the directional tread. I can't dead stop hammer it or it just smokes the tires. Slow launches from 10mph or so also will break the rear loose but not too many tires are going to keep traction with nearly 400 horses ;)
Had 84ss myself bought in88 mine was white always wanted to change to blue that color looks awesome nice job
These cars are so underrated! I had a 83!

It can all be done. Just depends on how much money you want to spend for the modern stuff. I run a 93 caprice serpentine setup so they all mix well.

My God this car is incredible. Excellent work.
You should put the SS Monti Carlo stickers back on! They really make the car look meaner!
Sweetass ride. This is the way the General should have built these cars. Have had 4 and upped the performance of all 4. They were the slickest cars on the road al the way through 88. Thry were grorgeous slugs when it came to performance
