Dear father Mike Schmitz I've decided to follow the catechism again this year as I didn't finish it last year. I will definitely watch them all. I really thank you from my heart for your old cast. They truly help me in my faith. As a confirmed Catholic I find I'm often being tested for my faith and religion by people. So thank you for your guidance. Amen
God is our Provider. He Gave us commandments for OUR Good. They will Lead us to Love and Peace. It is All in the Sermon on the Mount. May God Bless us All with Love and Peace. 😊❤
Day 79 done :) Lord, you are the Lord of glory and you entered into agony. You are the Lord of power and you entered into shame. Help me neither to be afraid of agony nor be embarrassed by shame, but to cling to You in your shame and Your agony so as to live with You in Your resurrection and in Your glory.....
I realized that an argument for the BIble being the word of God is that there is no laziness in the old or new testament writings. Everything points to something no verse is wasted. Thank you Jesus for your wisdom and Truth. God Bless.
Thank you fr. Mike your podcasts helped call me back to the church, then my excitement brought my brother back stronger, and his wife and mother in law are now in RCIA and getting baptized this Easter!!!
How beautiful, Celina! Through you the Lord spoke to your family and called them to Him. May the joy of Easter be in your heart and theirs. Prayers for you all. 🙏🙏
@@mannafromheaven0228 I will add your brother Joseph to my prayer list. I lost one brother due to illness from Vietnam 75 years ago and another brother 2yrs ago. It is so hard to loss our family members.🙏🥀
It's something to meditate on about Jesus telling His Apostles that they need to prepare themselves to suffer on Earth before relishing the fact of enjoying the fruits of Heaven. Did I get that right? I mean, that's what we're all going thru here on Earth, correct? I have certainly gone thru my fair share of suffering for Christ..& I expect to do more..just as so many members of my family did & close friends. I feel blessed when I can enjoy those few glorious moments of delight & praise the Good Lord up above for them! PTL! PTL! 🙏✝️🙇♀️💜
Father you are so right in what you said in the end of this days reading, that we are not alone in our suffering, that Jesus is with us and sends His Spirit to walk with us. I began that journey on June 5th 1991 and am still walking that path. My story is too long to talk about now, but The Holy Spirit walked with me, protected me and continues to walk with me and sustain me. Especialy on the days I didn't want to be sustained. I was a loss soul on my own journey, but God had a different path. Thank you for not only what you are doing for me but for all of us.
Dear Father Mike, Thank you for sharing how Jesus battles for us against the evil one, and most of all how he establishes a Kingdom and permits us to gain entry. I love the way you explained it. So good. Thank you.
I love the timing on these sessions. How fortunate that we are moving into the Passion and Resurrection articles during Lent and approaching Holy Week.
Thank you, Fr. Mike! Love learning that once we're baptized and have received the other necessary Sacraments it is our duty and privilege to remain in Him Who made us, by picking up our crosses and keeping His commandments every day as He said we must do in order to follow Him. His seven Sacraments make that incredibly easy to do, too! Thanks again for these wonderful lessons!
So many insights opened to me today. The purpose, even need, for my earthly suffering. This Catechism and your commentary show me the richness of foretelling in the old testament and in Jesus' life that I had never understood before. Thank you once again, Fr. Mike.
Last night I had a dream unlike any I have ever had. In all my nightmares I can recall, I have never been attacked in a dream and during the attack not have woken up. In this dream, I was attacked by a demon I truly believe. It was a seemingly old, wrinkly greenish pale women, with a few strands of black hair on the top of her head but somehow I absolutly knew it was a demon in the dream. I was standing infront of a door trying to let my dog in when I was grabbed by my left wrist. Thrown by the force of this pull onto the bed in the center of the room, where this thing latched onto me left elbow. I was frieghten, and did not know what to do. I then looked straight at this thing and screamed "please help me God" and in an instant I woke up calm as ever. The part of this that gets me is the minute I complete the sentence of "please help me god" it was almost instantaneously pulled from this dream. I have never felt the feeling of being absolutly terrified to absolutly calm by the snap of a finger. Almost a feeling of power was taken over and discarded this feeling of fear. The room I was in also was nothing I had visited before, however, I did have another dream where a snaked lunged at my face in a setting that almost matches how this room felt but in a different part of the home. I have no clue
I openly confess that I have no appetite for suffering in terms of mortification, not only inherently, but especially when the goal of my intention, in bearing witness to the truth in humility, doesn't seem to be bearing fruit. In this case, I must let myself simply trust in Christ. I thank God for the example of Father Mike who inspires us!
In the Transfiguration, Jesus reveals that His glory comes by way of the cross. Thereafter, as the Messiah King, he enters Jerusalem with great humility to suffer his passion and death, showing forth the coming of the Kingdom.
Father Mike, you are an amazing priest as you help so many people in our lives and our journey towards heaven. We thank God for all you do. May God bless you. Virginia
Baptism, our baptism, transfiguration, our resurrection, and God speaks each time! Never caught that one Father, thanks! The spring goes down for thirst……great analogies. We walk Not alone..❤❤❤❤❤
I just found out about your lose Father I’m so sorry I hope your doing ok and my prayers go out to you and your family for your lose but now she’s in heaven with our lord where there is no more pain and suffering God bless you Father Mike
I can imagine Peter, James, & John contemplating the transfiguration after the crucifixion feeling lost & not comprehending the meaning of it all. They knew He had the power to come down from the cross but didn’t. Why not?!? Why did He allow Himself to die??? Then the Resurrection! It would have started making sense; they would have started seeing the deeper meaning of His death, the necessity of it paired with the resurrection. Death was conquered! The most feared aspect of life was conquered by Christ who then empowered us to do the same thing in Him. No wonder they were fearless in proclaiming the Good News. This life is a training ground for eternity with God. Will we control ourselves & tame our unruly passions? Will we think beyond ourselves & expand our circles of care to not only our families but our neighbors & our enemies? Can we think with God’s thoughts, love with God’s heart? Sometimes the way seems so clear. God bless you all🙏❤️Thank you for listening to my musings😊😘
In humility, we are called to enter into death in order to enter into Christ's resurrection of Christ. Love must pass through fire to be tried, proved, and glorified.
Please pray for the holy Souls in Purgatory, they need our prayers. The Marian Press podcast has St Faustina's Diary in a year. Fr Roesch reads and reflects on her diary. 8-9 minutes a day. What a beautiful gift. Today we have 20 days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving, make them count. 3/20/2023
