Shen and I are FINALLY attempting a Soul Link in Pokémon! This has been in the works for months so I'm happy to finally be doing it.
We got the basics rules down but we don't know much about the intricacies of Soul Links, so we might make a few mistakes here and there. That being said, this is just for fun and not serious at all, so if we mess anything up, our bad!

i love that you can see the Pokemon stadium has made Ray significantly more confident in other pokemon games, he made his shitty situations work that much better due to the CBT

I had figured that after so many attempts at Stadium 2, your luck in Pokemon games could only go up from here.
This part in this Soul Link definitely did its best to challenge that assumption.

This is by far my favorite pokemon experience with Ray and Shen. I love them both, and would love to see more of this soul link or others in the future!

I discovered Shen after I got recommended her Kiwami 2 speedrun with Ray as a guest. Its great to see them collab again
I got sent home early from work cause I wasn't feeling well, now I am so glad I get something I didn't know I needed to see so much to burn my day with!
Love the amount of effort you put into this with the resources and everything! The only thing I wish was added to the description is the randomizer settings for us who want to try it out ourselves.

I don't know much at all about the nitty gritty of Pokemon (I've played them, but I'm the "power level your starter, brute force the main story, be done" kind of weirdo) but I'm enjoying this. Ray and Shen have a fun dynamic

I enjoyed the build-up to this, from Ray's reports on getting the tech to work.
Honestly the way they are doing route encounters works the best.
Normally you'd catch the first encounter regardless of typing, and then just box it if its a type you already have on the team.
But one person being able to reroll if they run into an pokemon that already has the same type as one on their team makes the most sense as it will allow first timers to be able to have a better chance of getting a full team.
Having a water main type starter and running into a water type for first encounter is pretty crappy since it means you wont have a second team member, and will have to wait for the next route encounter.

Also I've done so many nuzlockes, and never really thought about doing it the way they are, and it's honestly great.
When I do my nuzlockes, It always feels bad when I have a water type on my team, and the encounter I get is a water type.. meaning Ive got an encounter I can't use or may never use. But being able to re-roll would mean that an encounter that would've been useless, may still have a chance to be useable.
But also it's their nuzlockes so they should be able to do what's fun and best for them, I'd rather see Ray & Shen enjoy the nuzlocke then not have fun and drop it.
I'm loving the soul-link, and I want more 😭😭 it's so chaotic and so goooooood lol

I would argue against rare candies, but as a streamer it is absolutely understandable, as it is not only your time, but also viewer attention span.
Never heard of Shen before, I mean, she's a VTuber so I guess there's not really a reason that I would but she was great! Her voice is super interesting to me 🤔

Day late but water is special in gen 3 so Huge Power is never stab. Plus it's not fairy yet.
IDK if it's been brought up yet or matters, but I hear some people consider normal/flying as just flying since the only pure flying-type is Tornadus.

This was GREAT! I'm always a slut for pokemon content, but the soul link is a really engaging twist. Ray has honestly gotten so good at pokemon I'm curious how he can still challenge himself, and BOY does this do the job lmao
