That whole idea of "I want you to return all of these" was mindblowingly good. idk if its been done before, but if it hasn't then props to you Phil for writing that ^_^
I agree, it was a great concept. He's coasting through life, and she sort of becomes his spirit guide who inspires him to break the monotony of daily life.
That was amazing but I was more so heart broken that they wouldn't get to experience all that together and there is no way for either of them to communicate so whether or not they'll ever see each other again is all up to chance (and pretty unlikely) Usually when a really really special someone gets away from you you try to forget them but he's living his life in remembrance of the one that got away and he'll probably never get back! Idk why I watch these, I cant handle it! lol
I think the people who say it's sad they didn't get together don't understand the story. Although you may like other people, it's about chemistry AND timing. Sometimes it isn't right for both of you and sometimes people need to leave. What matters is you touched each other's lives and experiences may be shared if you let them. :)
why the f are people complaining about this. I felt like this was great. the pacing was perfect because it reflects how life is, where you can have someone come into your life, have an impact but also leave your life but leave a lingering emotion
It does work, but its kind of a surprise to everyone I think. the dialoge between characters was a bit cheesy. needed more build up to make sense/ to relate to. it was okay, but they could have done better. Still love wong fu though.
meeting somebody in your life doesn't always mean you'll end up with them, but rather the opportunity they end up guiding you to without you knowing. They gave each other a new meaning in life. She traveled the world because of meeting him, and because they liked each other at the wrong time, got him out of the grocery store to travel and see what she has seen. It's how the universe works. This is turn has changed both their outlook on life and probably mindset and are now doing amazing things. Beautiful...
In all honesty, I am in love with all of your shorts. Often times when you watch some movie, you enjoy it but it doesn't really reach your emotions, while your shorts always hit me and I can't help to feel something! Soo good 😊
This short was great! Loved the pacing and filmography, and I didn't think it was too cheesy. Also, lots of people in the comments section are mentioning quite sarcastically that it "must be nice to have money to travel" - if you're actually serious about having these experiences, that shouldn't be an issue. You don't have to go very far to find adventure or explore. Even if you can't afford to go to someplace far, just look at a map of your surroundings, and see what transportation you have available. There are lots of beautiful places around us but we don't usually know about it. Sometimes all it takes is a bus ride to get to some incredible places. And if it's only meaningful to you if you're going very far, you can always save up and wait for a time in your life (which will most certainly come at some point) when you do have the means to go wherever in the world you want -- they didn't specify when in time James went traveling. Anywho, thank you to everyone who helped out with this short for bringing it to us ^_^
Precisely! Most ppl get comfortable with their own surroundings not realizing there's beautiful places all around us. The cities we live in might be tourist attractions for ppl in other parts of the world. Remember that 😉
Not only that but if people stopped going to the club and spending hundreds of dollars. You would have some nice money saved up at the end of the year to take a nice trip. Its all about priorities. Do you have want to travel or get drunk every weekend.
Hang in there beautiful, your significant other will arrive to your life at the right moment, perhaps it wasn't the time for him to arrive on those past 3 years but in a near future I'm sure he will arrive
I like how at 11:15 James takes his steps in sync with the piano playing. Its like the piano keys represent the steps James will take towards his future, and like each piano note contributes to great music, each step you take will contribute to the life you live.
I cannot think of a girl who would not think that what that guy did was NOT creepy. It is one thing to be observant, it is another to reveal that you are and what you have deduced from it.
Search RUclips for their "Is it creepy or romantic?" video Plus they'd already had about a dozen of these little meetings by now, so I guess her creepiness threshold was higher at this point
+Kevin Hsu: I highly agree. If a girl thinks the guy is good-looking, she might not consider the behavior as creepy. Some girls like that certain guys "pay attention to the details" or "notice" them.
OMG this hit me to the heart. 3 years ago, a guy who used to like me brought me a stone he collected all the way from a town in Italy and he told me to return it to the town in Italy. Though things didn't work out between me and him and we both have since moved on, the stone is still sitting on my desk. But I never forget it. I will travel to Italy one day and bring the stone along :)
So is this a story from Phil's past? :D I remember he mentioned during Lunchbreak that one of his works in the past is from a certain grocery store. There's a line in the grocery aisle confrontation regarding "baggage", within a grocery store. I see what you did there. :P I liked how Lynn(?) is encouraging James to go out there and explore, to know himself more, just as how exploring let her understand herself. Not all stories end in happy ever after, sometimes life is just like that. Great video guys. :)
You don't even know what poor means you lucky bastard. Even with best job here, and I save everything I can. I will be needing 10 years to save enough money to travel America or Europe(just a single spot). And only if I save every penny possible for the trip. But need to save 20 years if I had regular job. That's like spending your whole life to see a city. Lol
Motrice R a Chinese culture, my mother always made sure I know enough about the person's background such as where their family came from, was their family wealthy or at least surviving in the world or the individual itself, do they have a stable job, good education and such.
that's why in the end, she should have wrote her a note, stating he won the lottery and now filthy rich......but that HE still works as a cashier to see if anyone will REALLY love him for who he is and not just his money-------14 minutes later, she speeds back from the mountains, and enters the grocery store.....
Philip, you are the man! for some weird reason, watching this short video gave me goosebumps, your just amazing writer man! no homo on the goosebump part. lol
+Jacob Pagaduan lol. I watch pretty much everything that is good my friend. Philip here is the man when it comes to having AMAZING ideas and making it into videos. I dunno why he hasn't gone big yet. blows my mind.
Yeah, this is some Jedi-level friendzone. "Yeah, sure I wanna travel the world!.... just not with you. But with all your ideas!!.... But not with you." "Yeah, we can go to all those places!..... just not at the same time." I get her liking him and not being ready for a relationship, but hoping that he'll he'll still be there waiting for you after you've gotten your shit together is just looking for disappointment. Either he won't be there because he's found someone else, or he won't be there because he's a different person and has moved on from you emotionally.
What Lynn said was so true. My bf broke up with me a month ago and I’m still struggling with it. There’s too much here reminds me of him. So I decided to go backpacking to Southeast Asia by myself. Hope it makes me feel grown. Thank you from Japan
Its really amazing how well you guys do your shorts. How a 12 minute long video can evoke more emotional feelings than a 2 hour long movie is what make you guys amazing. Story and cinematography is 11/10. Please never stop making videos ever :)
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! This is what I call fine arts, from visual to psychological... The most soothing 12 minutes I have spent in a long time. Thank you guys for sharing your beautiful talents! Amazing!
I really loved this one. I know you guys love to do drama, and it's part of the reason why I subbed you all those years ago. My only little critique is that maybe, just maybe, once in a blue moon, you could do something that has an all around happy ending. You know, guy gets the girl sort of thing. Some people think happy endings are just cliche, but I disagree. As much as there is drama in life there is also happiness. I'd just love to see a happy moment captured in one of your shorts. This wasn't a bad ending, but it was open and unsure. I guess I like closure on stories. Take of that as you will...I'ms o nervous Single by 30 will end sadly. I love it so much and look forward to all the new episodes, but you guys don't always take the happy road in your stories as I mentioned. Guess I'll find out in a few weeks when it finishes up. Thanks for all the great videos over the years, I still love your stuff, just had an opinion.
I guess it's all about perspective. To someone like me, this kind of ending is the best ending it could have been. Kinda reminds me of spirited away. There's a touch of romance but in the end the bigger picture has nothing to do with romance and leans more towards a personal narrative with a friendship as the catalyst. But that's just my opinion. And I really look forward to their next video! :)
Like I said, I loved the video. It just became something I wasn't expecting. Which can both be good and bad. And I do know they have made happy ending type videos before, it just seems lately that they've gone down a different path with more drama and less happy. More stuff dealing with break ups type of stuff. Again, just my opinion, I still like their stuff overall. They are one of the greats on RUclips.
I agree with your comment. I also would like to see them do a thriller or something outside of romance. I know romance is their thing and I love their romantic shorts, but I know they do well beyond romance cuz Ive seen it
As I'm getting closer to finishing up my senior year at university, I often wonder.. "where will I be" "Where will I go" "What do I want do before I settle down at a job?" "am I going to be complacent with my job once I get it? or am I going to have that drive like nothing can stop me as I do now" I hope I remember to revisit this video in a year from now
I thought I was the only one that thinks grocery items tell stories. The bottles were beautiful. I love your stories so much. Makes a rough day seem worth it and I always find new perspectives.
"..and this is my way of saying, thanks" I literally felt like crying. I FREAKING LOVE PEOPLE WHO ARE THIS OPEN ABOUT TALKING DEEP STUFF AND SHARING FEELINGS. PROPS TO WONG FU. IM YOUR FAN FOREVER. WONG FU FOR LYFEEEEE
I've been watching a bunch of these Wong Fu videos, and they definitely are getting me 'in my feelings'. I keep feeling like there's something in my eye.... Julie Zhan I've seen in a few now, and she's a great actress! She should have blown up by now!
Omg the end almost brought me to tears... Y'all should expand this story to where he travels to see all the locations and at the last one they end up finding each other or something...this could be a great movie OMG I'm hooked...
wow, gotta say I loved it. The way you guys twist your stories at the end so originally. Really heart felt stuff. Gives that good feeling to watch what you guys make, and it's so inspiring to me, and I'm sure others too, who want to get into the business of film making or story writing. I don't know what else to say except that you guys please keep on keeping the original film making family that you are. And hey if you ever find yourself in South Africa in need of a young actor/ aspiring author you know I'm there xD. Seriously though love you strangers. Thank you for all the good times!
An EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, BRILLIANT + TENDER STORY - kudos Phil. He was there when she needed a friend the most. She enabled him to have a richer, fuller life. Like "Left on Shing Wong", an exceptional piece; with the former, qualify for the Best of Wong Fu.
This ending was awesome, makes me want to go out and adventure and grow! I think I'm gonna do that later on down the road, just travel by myself and see all the beauty around!
for anyone that thought that the middle part was kinda of cringy. understand that its is purposeful and the director wanted to convey the awkwardness of the situation, and they did it really well i mean we've all be in weird situations like that, and they've captured that really well.
This was really well made, the shots, acting and storyline. Gosh everything looked so pretty and the ending was really heart warming!! >< I love travelling so I'm glad this tells people to explore the world because it has so much to offer!! :D
so it kinda made me cry..and there are not many things i start to cry on, but these little short films are the ones who inspire me the most throughtout my whole life

I love everything about this short. Simple everyday activity, but yet so touching. Nice acting. Beautiful scenery and cinematography. Love it!! Keep making them bro!!
It's things like this that remind you that you only have one life and that one day we will return it. So making the most of it, its important to follow your dreams and see things you never thought you would get to see. This has inspired me and I know when I'm gone i won't regret my life. Thank you Wong Fu and I hope to see a lot more!
Be happy with yourself...don't chase anyone as soon as you get the first sign that not worth it...work on your optimum well being, learn to be happy without needing someone romantically
I don't understand why people say this is a bad ending. The ending is pretty inspirational. Maybe some people expect this to be a love story? I actually love the ending. It is more interesting than the rest and the travel scenes are beautiful.
I really liked this short and it unexpectedly made me tear up at the end. I think it's real deep to choose yourself and doing what's right for you even if it means leaving someone who may be good for you. Choosing yourself despite everything and everyone else. Just really thoughtful piece. One of my favorites.
Your production group truly has a way of "telling the story" through art. What impresses me the most is that you toy with the notion of not always ending with a "happy ever after" scenario. This approach definitely makes the story more realistic. Well done!
Shorts like this were the reason I quit my day job for RUclips. Thank you for inspiring me- this is incredible.
thanks for sharing this to twitter I totally have tears in my lunch now though! awesome video
Thank you Megan!!! The feeling is mutual! BTW, anytime you need a guest on Right Now ;)
Holy crap Megan you're so beautiful and talented as an actress, I always love seeing you in shorts.

The fucking feels man. Growth is never always comfortable or fair, but if we don't do it, than we aren't more than machine.
I fell in love with the actors they are so good
WongFu never fails to make me smile. The cinematography and actors were on point. I love you guys💕
That was beautiful.. What a smart way to do promotions.. Wong fu, You guys are beyond brilliant. Hats off.
sometimes it's not about love. sometimes it's about exploring parts of yourself you didn't even know you were hiding. take your own journey.
The best product placement video ever
Rebekah Feliciano true but still emotional
At first, I thought it was a Wes short, but job well done Phil! Love it so much!
wow, gotta say I loved it.
That shine on her leg is visible from space

An EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, BRILLIANT + TENDER STORY - kudos Phil.
He was there when she needed a friend the most.
She enabled him to have a richer, fuller life.
Like "Left on Shing Wong", an exceptional piece; with the former, qualify for the Best of Wong Fu.
amazing!
ayy whats up
We met most of the amazing person in our lives unexpected, they just came and give us reasons to go through the struggles we've been through.
Thanks for great content Wong Fu. They are timeless, yet timely.
Unique Ideas, great writing, good acting stands the test of time!
This ending was awesome, makes me want to go out and adventure and grow! I think I'm gonna do that later on down the road, just travel by myself and see all the beauty around!
You create some of the best story lines I’ve ever seen...and I’ve seen over 5 decades of work.
for anyone that thought that the middle part was kinda of cringy. understand that its is purposeful and the director wanted to convey the awkwardness of the situation, and they did it really well i mean we've all be in weird situations like that, and they've captured that really well.
Everyone comes here looking for Something , but they don't always get what they need.
Hits so hard
omg this idea is so romantic& amazing

I could easily tell before if it was Phil or Wes' writing. But this one. It's like Phil and Wes made love and had a baby.
What are their respective styles in writing?
hahahahaha the perfect description..i was confused bcus it has both wes and Phil's vibes there
@@bighandsjohn phil writes serious love stories dat deal with mostly relationships that dont work out but makes a healthy improvement in d luvers lyf....nd wes writes unconventional or sci fi luv stories...
This one ws lyk a mix of both
I love everything about this short. Simple everyday activity, but yet so touching. Nice acting. Beautiful scenery and cinematography. Love it!! Keep making them bro!!
Fantastic! Ordinary showed amazingly. Bravo Wong Fu Productions! Love your videos!
It's things like this that remind you that you only have one life and that one day we will return it. So making the most of it, its important to follow your dreams and see things you never thought you would get to see. This has inspired me and I know when I'm gone i won't regret my life. Thank you Wong Fu and I hope to see a lot more!
Beautiful scenery; i want to travel/explore so badly now ah
After the first 10 seconds, I'm really craving that Vita tea.
I want to be an actor in a Wong Fu video. Help me out guys
same
You would be great for it 😭
You look awsome for it.
The fact that the setting is a 99 Ranch makes this short 10x better.
Be happy with yourself...don't chase anyone as soon as you get the first sign that not worth it...work on your optimum well being, learn to be happy without needing someone romantically
I actually loved the ending. Amazing work!
I don't understand why people say this is a bad ending. The ending is pretty inspirational. Maybe some people expect this to be a love story? I actually love the ending. It is more interesting than the rest and the travel scenes are beautiful.
Damn.. the feels bro. Okay this is now one of my favorite shorts!
Amazing short, never stop making more!
I haven't cried in about 3 or 4 years and this video made me cry.
The thing about wong fu is that isnt like romance movies its realistic it doesnt have over the top handsome actors and unrealistic turns
It's so funny because a few months ago, I literally told my brother: You can tell a lot able it people by looking at what they order at Costco!
me = 1 single rack of ribs and a jumbo 2-pack of ranch dressing
+bensonq such a bendad
I love the editing quality and the impact it creates!
Wonderful ... this touched my heart
I just wish the Wong Fu Productions have so many videos that I would never finish watching it. You guys are amazing!
these people have great stories❤
the whole bottle thing reminded me of one of your guys' other short film, A Piece of Home (I think that's the name)
! great memory!
This is the kind of video that makes me wish I could smash that like button a gazillion times because DAMN!

I really liked this short and it unexpectedly made me tear up at the end. I think it's real deep to choose yourself and doing what's right for you even if it means leaving someone who may be good for you. Choosing yourself despite everything and everyone else. Just really thoughtful piece. One of my favorites.
BRILLIANT!!!!! Thanks for creating this AWESOME, heartwarming, and inspirational film! Please keep shining!
Victory is yours,
Largy (The AcrõGecko)
It's increadible!!!!!
You guys are unusual and supertalented!!!
Subscribed a few seconds ago now they upload a video awesome BTW love the new series single by 30
this was written & directed perfectly. Great job Phil & Wes!
Your production group truly has a way of "telling the story" through art. What impresses me the most is that you toy with the notion of not always ending with a "happy ever after" scenario. This approach definitely makes the story more realistic. Well done!
this is probably my favourite video you've guys have made.
Another beautiful heart-wrenching/warming story. Really got to me how deep and thoughtful it was :') Thank you for making such amazing stories
