Hats off to MI for taking care for the customer.

This is a sale pitch for MI home. New homes are cheaply built no matter who the builder is. Some of the problems will surface in a few years. House framing will shrink and shift. The soil will settle and the foundation slab will crack. It is better to buy a custom build home with raised foundation. Problems can be fixed easily.

This video gives me good comfort! I’m building with MI Homes and have chosen them vs other builders because I feel from my experience they care about their customers. Well done MI Homes!

They are my favorite builder and they are my inspectors favorite builder as well. Best of luck to you. Do not forget to call a home inspector throughout the process. You should do this with every new home built.

That is what i call a CLASS act builder! Even if they would'nt do it for buyers in a normal circumstance, it still makes me proud that they came thru for somebody who WAS in special dire circumstances....

You have no idea how helpful this video is! We will be signing a contract to build an M/I Home in Minnesota within the next week. I was confident before that it was a good company. Now this solidifies our decision. Thank you.

Lance, MI is a good home builder but, I personally doubt they would have done what you described if the buyer was simply a buyer walking into their sales office dealing with MI one on one. In fact, I'd bet money they would not have been this accommodating to the average buyer buying from their sales people.
I firmly believe the two factors at play here are 1) a disabled child and, 2) a Realtor representing them.
I guarantee you a thought going through their minds was, what if this Realtor and these buyers contact Tampa Bay local TV stations with the fact that we refuse to accommodate these peoples disabled child. The bad press would be devastating locally. No way they would chance that.
I hesitate to put any altruism into their decision. That said, I am happy for them that it all worked out for them.

Hard to say. If you come across very respectfully, theres no telling how far the builder would have bent without realtors involved. When you have a good reputation, you want to keep it. Especially in todays world where it's easy to get a bad name with bad reviews through social media. And good reviews with happy customers goes a long way!

We are currently going through MI Homes and I'd bet money that they'd do it even without the realtor. There was a shortage of beams for 2 story homes. The other builders that had limited supply on the beams jacked their houses up as much as 50k. MI didn't do that. They all together stopped building the 2 story homes. They said it wouldn't be fair to charge current owners more money, and they have to lower the price once they are avaliable again. They could have easily rose the prices up and even left them up once the beams were available again, but they didn't. There are still decent people out here. We were even told that since we put down for a 2 story, if they started back building before we closed, we would get priority and could switch back to the 2 story.

We just signed a contract with MI in Seguin, Texas. We have two kids in wheelchairs and MI has agreed to widen all our doorways in the home so the whole house is accessible to them. Great experience with MI so far!

M/I puts up cheap homes that break down after only a few years. They have terrible reviews online and many complaints and lawsuits

M/I homes shocked me too but for very different reasons that are not good. The company may be great, but the sub-contractors lack skills and take no pride in the work they do.

@@beautifuljacan Thank you and I hate to say this but I do not think very many builders are very good right now because all they care about his money

I’ve been researching MI homes. My family and I are relocating from Massachusetts to NC. I’ve read a few bad reviews on their FB page recently that were making me a little nervous. Do you think this is relative to the area or is this how they operate in all the areas where they build? Thank you.
