He is so articulate for a young person. Very polite and well informed and not insulting Malta. I’m glad nobody interviewed me on RUclips when I was his age.
I have been in Malta for 18 yrs and I am leaving end of July, things such as the rubbish/transport become normal and accepted after a while. What Bali is correct in saying is that you leave because there is a pull factor elsewhere and not because of any significant problems in Malta. Work has always been easy to find, the people are great and apartments are easy to find although getting expensive. I have been really lucky, I rent a one bedroom town house in Naxxar for 400 euros and 60 euros toward water/electricity (always end up with a refund every three months) I have an agreement with my landlord to maintain the property. Cost of living is getting out of control, even though this is worldwide the retailers have really capitalised on the situation, it is actually cheaper to buy British brands compared to local and Italian goods. The only reason I am leaving is because I have small Island syndrome, I have seen all of Malta and Gozo and after a while it all seems the same, also your heart always belongs at home and this is what is finally pulling me back to the UK. Malta thank you for all your love and what you have provided and I will leave with a heavy heart x.
It is very interesting for me, being Maltese, to hear the different opinions about Malta. Why people love it so much and they choose to leave their home country for a better life. When you live life mostly in the same country you tend to stop seeing the good side. So these videos make me appreciate more my country.
I lived in the USA and never stopped seeing the good side (I was there for 2 years) though I would not like to go back there now! Coming from England, I find Maltese and Gozitan attitudes can be a tad insular and a sense of humour to be lacking; but the lifestyle is generally relaxed and it is far easier to do everyday things here - shopping, travelling around, chatting to people around the village or in town, relaxing in a cafe or restaurant, etc - and these things are often a lot more pleasant here as well. Over-development is the biggest visible threat on both Malta and Gozo, imo, and ruination of what is basically a rural community with beautiful old architecture is marching forward without brakes from the government, etc. Crazy! You would never see such foolishness on a Greek island such as Crete.
Malta sells a fake lifestyle and many other things. Maltese people should be ashamed of creating a slavery country. Highly immigration happens in many other countries, the operational job positions are the same as Malta but people can at least save money and have a minimum comfortable life. Again: Malta is a slavery country.

I wish Bali success and good fortune in his future endeavors. Today it's so hard for young people everywhere in this uncertain world and economy! Well done Bali, I left Malta back in 1998 and never looked back and yes, I live in Melbourne Australia which is the third most livable city in the World. I love Australia and must say, I have achieved a great career here in Australia. I wish you the best of luck and if you work hard and find a pharmaceutical/chemist company they might take you on as an intake. You just have to pursue and be strong as when you work towards you're dreams, they will eventually come true. Malta is a beautiful place for a holiday and I love it as some of my family still live in Malta too xoxox
The cost of living has been rising everywhere. After the pandemic, inflation was the effect of how governments mishandled the crisis. I am Canadian and I live in a border city so I am in the USA quite frequently. I also have family in Australia and the UK. People in all these places are dealing with rising costs of housing, groceries, transport, and taxes. I hope we can turn this around because young people are having a rough start.

Very interesting interview sir, the experiences of living in Malta 👏 Bali best wishes to you to turn an "Aussie"!👍 Lovely place with excellent sea views, and the climate seems as if people would want to settle there forever.🙌👍
Bali is right about the cost of living and crowded buses in Malta. But Malta is safe, healthcare is excellent and services and facilities are readily available. English is an official language. I have residency on Malta but am away for retirement travelling.
Many people from former Eastern European countries having lived several years in UK or Ireland, really wish to live in nicer Southern European climate and life styles. But I can see their problem. They better go home. To adapt to normal salaries and look after their parents As his wish is to goto Australia, I would add that Australia has its own problems...
Really like this Hungarian guy - Independent, great English and his own man already . If he lived in Spain or Italy he’d still be living with his mother 😂
Alex excellent interview and he spoke very honestly.Bali seems good guy and I wishing him good luck for future.I’m in Australia the rent here so expensive compare the Dollar currency with Euro!!!!!!!!
What a great young man. Best of luck, keep pursuing your dreams! Cost of living unfortunately is a problem in many places, it’s very tough for young people starting out. I live in Toronto and I’m encouraging my children to leave. To buy a one bedroom apartment here you need a household income of $160k a year, it’s very tough now.

ALEX ,WHAT AN EXCELLENT GENUINE INTERVIEW 🎤 👏 . Shame to see a lovely young intelligent man like BALI leaving my country .However he's still a young man and hence should follow his dreams. If I was him, I would STAY IN UK 🙏 . Obviously ,I don't think he wants to return to Hungary 🇭🇺 🤪 ... I left my Malta 🇲🇹 ♥ for the UK 🇬🇧 ♥ and my BIGGEST mistake was leaving the latter for Australia 🇦🇺 😔. Notwithstanding, the average wage of Analytical Chemist in Australia is $65K (as at 1/2/23) and obviously more if one works in the Mining Industry. I advise BALI to stay up to date with the Australian Immigration NEWS as they're going to be a lot of imminent changes to fix the mess the system been in for these last 10yrs. Afterall, "Life is like a Vegemite Test" 😊. I wish young BALI all the best for the future .Bless him 🙏 . THANKS ALEX & Bali 🎥👏👏 Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™ .
The wages in professional fields are quite high in Australia but the cost of living is now super crazy. All the major cities also have a housing crisis and locals like me who have lived here struggle to get a spare room to rent. You have to really hustle and be very patient and persistent to get a room to sublet / share or your own apartment. A room to rent in Brisbane is $AUD250-400 per week and much higher in Sydney. Best of luck to Bali for his adventure to Australia.
@@deanbennett229 Hi Dean. I've been living in Oz for these last 35 years. I agree with what you said. @@AlexinMalta If you don't live at home and have to pay rent, you can't move forward here. When renting here you need 4 weeks bond and 4 weeks rent in advance before you move in. That comes to about $5,000. You have to pay electricity and water also.
@@AlexinMalta Yes salaries are much higher but you need to earn $AUD150,000+ to pay rent / bills and save anything. This is a high salary but anything under $100K in larger cities and you will struggle financially. I am Australian and have lived in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Adelaide and Darwin would be my recommendation to get a job and live to get ahead, have a good life and save $
@@AlexinMalta Salaries in Australia are much higher because everything is much more expensive compared to most EU countries. It would be impossible to live here with the average EU salary. A 65,000 EUR salary in Malta would be enough for a family to live decently and also get a mortgage. That's around AU$100,000 and you would likely need some form of government support here if you have family and rent. You can forget about mortgages with that amount.
€650 per month for an apartment is incredibly cheap. Beware of the UK rental prices as they’re going up even in the midlands. Ireland is off the wall. You’d pay €2000 minimum per month plus sky high bills.

As a rule locals are paid more than foreigners for the same job.. foreigners are mainly cheap labour. Live in Malta but work abroad...if your job permits. And don't buy any property. Stay flexible
Jobs in pharmaceuticals have shockingly low salaries. I know PhDs who weren't given an offer higher than 1.5k a month a couple of years back. Don't know the situation now but I can't imagine it improved by much.
@@AlexinMalta what I earn in Malta for my sector is significantly higher than say Italy for same position and about 10% lower than UK. Not all sectors are the same. The job Bali mentions is a qualified job and should not be paid those kinds of wages.
Very easy to find work if qualified in the pharmaceutical/pharmacy sector, however supply and demand does not seem to work here and salaries do not reflect the market demands compared to other professions in Malta.
That salary u mention cannot possibly be correct, it is lower than minimum wage! I just looked up average wage for analytical chemist in Australia and it is $96K. I'm sure Bali will do well, he looks like a go getter!
Listening to young gentlemen and how he idolized his dream about living in Australia... I am thinking that he is not going to find there what he believes he is going to find. Australia as well doesn't offer easily and often well paid jobs, yet the costs of living are exorbitant. Anyhow, everyone has to try their own luck, but my advise is: do your research before you decide to make the leap. Bali is right about the cost of living and crowded buses in Malta. But Malta is safe, healthcare is excellent and services and facilities are readily available. English is an official language. I have residency on Malta but am away for retirement travelling.
thanks Alex and Bali
Thanks for watching
Many people from former Eastern European countries having lived several years in UK or Ireland, really wish to live in nicer Southern European climate and life styles. But I can see their problem. They better go home. To adapt to normal salaries and look after their parents
As his wish is to goto Australia, I would add that Australia has its own problems...
Thank you

Alex excellent interview and he spoke very honestly.Bali seems good guy and I wishing him good luck for future.I’m in Australia the rent here so expensive compare the Dollar currency with Euro!!!!!!!!
So is everything else.
Thanks Joy, i wish him all the best as well
If you live in Australia, euro doesn't matter
Very helpful video thank you bali and alex
Thanks for watching, glad it helped
What a great young man. Best of luck, keep pursuing your dreams!
Cost of living unfortunately is a problem in many places, it’s very tough for young people starting out. I live in Toronto and I’m encouraging my children to leave. To buy a one bedroom apartment here you need a household income of $160k a year, it’s very tough now.
Thanks Joseph

Great Job Alex!
THANKS ALEX & Bali 🎥👏👏
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™ .
Thanks for the insight John. Thank you so much! It was a pleasure talking with Bali, such a nice guy
However, re "wages in professional fields are quite high" I must point out the 'not quite high' work culture (mostly rotten to the core) eg : "racism, bullying, sexism, corruption and non existent loyalty. "Fair Go" is just a dilusion. Hope Bali got nerves of steel I say.
Take care Dean 🙏.
Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
What this guy is saying is truly true!! I am sorry for him but unfortunately yes in Malta the salaries are a disaster and the cost of living is very high compared to low salaries. I am Maltese living in Vienna!! But of course, Malta is a beautiful place to experience living there but again all things which he mentioned are all true!! Good luck with your next move.

Really? The salary is very low and tye cost of living is very high??😢😢

Bali will be in for a shock when he comes to Australia. It is so expensive here.
You tell him
Salaries are higher i guess
I hope this young man has asked for references to carry away with him. He looks so smart.
He is so smart indeed
€650 per month for an apartment is incredibly cheap. Beware of the UK rental prices as they’re going up even in the midlands. Ireland is off the wall. You’d pay €2000 minimum per month plus sky high bills.
Wow !😳
In London 1000 pounds is just for a room!!
@@angelinaperfumes same in Dublin. A single ROOM is about a grand per month. That’s if you can find one for rent
Australia is very expensive, so the young man must be prepared.

I am coming to Malta in June, my 11th trip in 12yrs. Love the place but having watched several video's, I have no intention of buying to live there now. England has now left the EU so it would be difficult to live there with all the paperwork you have to go thro. I think 3 months is enough.

If our Governments took proper care of Malta, and kept it less overdeveloped, whilst keeping the opportunities thriving :(
Hard to manage i guess
They are busy spoiling Gozo at the moment -
mindless and senseless building.
Jobs in pharmaceuticals have shockingly low salaries. I know PhDs who weren't given an offer higher than 1.5k a month a couple of years back. Don't know the situation now but I can't imagine it improved by much.
Salaries in Malta in any sectors generally are lower than whag they should be
@@AlexinMalta what I earn in Malta for my sector is significantly higher than say Italy for same position and about 10% lower than UK.
More often then not, move endsup being like jumping from the frying pen into the fire. I am talking about financial success. Experience wise, moving countries is great learning experience!!!!
