  • A couple slides from KOVR, channel 13 in Sacramento around December 1979. Back then it ID'd itself as being in "Stockton/Sacramento" instead of the usual "Sacramento/Stockton". I think their building was near Arden Way, they've since moved to West Sacramento.
The first says how great Delta College is (and you ought to go there and learn something instead of sitting there watching TV), then we're told that the show they're running to fill in the time after Monday Night Football will be joined in progress. (I guess whoever taped this did so for the football game then let the tape run to the end, but they later recorded a cable movie over the game yet were nice enough to leave this for us.)

KOVR used to be located in Stockton, so that's why it was labeled with Stockton first.
Ironically, 13 on TV STILL labels it's self with Stockton first, but on their website, it's Sacramento first.

The revised station identification now uses Stockton-Sacramento-Modesto, for now KOVR CBS 13.

@manhizzy Correct. 225 E. Miner Avenue, to be exact. 1954-1991. KOVR's Sacramento address was 1216 Arden before they moved to the West Sac facility they now occupy on Kovr Drive.

I guess KOVR pre-empted Tic Tac Dough and The Joker's Wild that night due to Monday Night Football.

Bobby Lankford I didn't know they had those in the normal 7PM slot, but seems they should have shown those after football instead of the random syndicated stuff seen here. (Oddly before this special they ran a complete Mary Tyler Moore episode from 16mm, likely right after the game. The tape I found this on joined the recording in the middle of MTM, it was recorded over prior to that.)

@southparkgtaca Ironic, maybe, but KOVR identifies its TV signal as "Stockton/Sacramento" because it's a STOCKTON TV station (licensed to Stockton, always has been; therefore "Stockton" HAS to come first) trying to identify with the Sacramento market. Would probably be the same if it were a Yuba City station, or a Placerville station. However, on the WEBSITE, they can do whatever they want: they're not bound by FCC Rules & Regs.
