Hi Caneron - I had an older model tough cut and absolutely hammered it. I replaced numerous pulleys - yes a weak point but look at the good side. You don't have to replace a whole spindle. Keep on mowing Sir - you do a great job. Cheers From Australia.
Hey Bruce! Thanks for tuning in from Australia! 🇦🇺. Appreciate the feedback. I agree, the pulleys are much easier and cheaper to replace than a spindle! Can’t wait to see what the Tough Cut can tackle this season. Stay tuned…
I gotta say it's nice to finally see someone who knows how to load a trailer. Most people would've pulled it all the way to the front putting the weight on their truck.
You definitely have to watch how you load a trailer depending on what truck you're pulling and how much the equipment weighs. It kinda fits just right in that sweet spot on this trailer. Pulls like a dream. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch the video. I appreciate it!
when I attempt to to dissemble equipment for the first time I have made a habit of taking a picture of the layout with my smart phone so I will know with certainty how too re-assemble the components.
It was a great mower to test out! Really appreciate Ventrac for allowing me to try it out for a season. Great ppl over there! Thanks again for the continued support. 🙏
Man it was awesome to see that Sunset on the way home after the storm rolled through. Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Hope you have a great weekend!
Yeah! You caught the video the first time the pulley broke. I was in some tough brush. Each pulley broke in the same spot. These new pulleys are supposed to be beefed up more so we’ll see how they hold up. Ventrac was great and replaced the old ones for me. But I need to go ahead and buy a couple of spare pulleys just in case. Belts and pulleys will always need to be swapped out. That’s just the nature of these type of jobs. I appreciate the continued support! 💯😎👍
Looking at 4520z with low hours. Still have 4200 ventrac 31 vanguard. Having electric problems, but nice too know a guy who worked at 1#ventrac dealer in Eastern coast.
I don’t think you can go wrong with the 4520z. That’s a really nice machine. What’s going on with your Vanguard? Seems like I’m always having issues with a Vanguard engine…
I'm so curious to see this video I can hardly wait while you're maybe gonna need some tissues fer' yer' sniffles... Sorry for your loss but your loss may be my gain. Fingers crossed... Please Lord I'm over here... Idaho Panhandle...the guy on Hoodoo Mountain... P.S. I was just waking up, no coffee yet and misunderstood to think you were returning the Ventrac 4500 did you say...new sub either way...thanks
Love the Spencer's...they are a great team! Yeah, the Ventrac is awesome! They make a cab for winter, but they don't have one for Summer with A/C. It would be like an oven in the Summer lol. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it.
You probably addressed this in one of your other videos, I was wondering how does your Ventrac compare to the 450 Steiner you demoed? Is there a big difference between the two? Power, fit and finish, ease of use ect.? Thanks, keep the videos coming.
I really didn't get a good demo out of the Steiner 450. I don't know if it wasn't set up properly or what was going on, but it smoked several belts within a 30 min period. Having said that, I have buddies that run Steiner tractors and love them. I think the biggest difference between the two Brands is the support. Steiner has zero new attachments. Ventrac is always coming out with new and improved attachments. One of the main reasons I started looking more into the Ventrac. Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Ah man, that definitely would have been disappointing. I know several guys that did the same. You picked the right 4500 though. That Z is hard to beat! How is it holding up for you????
@@TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri Yeah, it’s still a Ventrac. Man, it’s awesome when it’s tuned up nice. I’ve had a lot of issues with the PTO engagement rod, squealing Spindles, belts getting chewed up. I only use for mowing. I had a terrible dealer who lost out on an extra $10k if he would have listened to what newbies needed. Right now, I’ve had it at the dealers and they used it more testing it and tuning it, than I have! This is the 3rd summer and I’ve only out 13 hours on it. I finally learned all a I could and now it’s doing awesome! It’s just for the homestead so it should be a great tool for a decade. I was looking at a Bobcat 3650 or Polaris Brutus side by side with PTO. I could’ve gotten a front Mount mower and such. Sadly, they stopped making them and they have mixed reviews. Almost went Yanmar or Deere but stumbled on Ventrac by chance and saw how good it handled hills! We have those. I’m trying to scrape $10k together to get the new loader and bucket. It’s sweet!
if you happen to know a welder , get him to remove the old weld and reweld it. what way you'll have spare with you in the field. could you show us where the welds crack? (like , are they pflat on the steel , or is there a radius o nthe broken edge) first one would indicate not enough penetration on the weld..
Pulleys are $40 a welder would probably charge more than that. I just replaced one of mine too. BTW... The parts manual schematic does show this one reversed with the hub up.
Now you tell me lol. I’m just kidding. But I did see that as well. I just grab some spare pulleys, so hopefully if it does it again, I will be prepared. Thanks so much for watching!
In the applications where we used the WAM on the bigger lawns, it didn’t save us any time versus the top of the line zero turns that we use here locally. However, where it did excel was on the steep hillsides that needed to be mowed. It was more comfortable and quicker in those situations.
Ferris does a pretty good job with suspension. I have two standers that are pretty smooth to run. The sit down mowers are nice and smooth as well. Lots of options out there nowadays. Appreciate you watching!

REALLY good idea! It always looks easy until it's time to put it back together lol. Thanks for watching!
I sure am gonna miss that Ventrac! She was a good ‘ole girl! Take care Cameron.😊
I know it lol. But more memories are sure to be made in the future…
I like your reasoning. I agree with you a 100%
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
Sounds like a very good reason on the purpose of the Ventrac that you purchased!
Thanks for watching!
Still so dang jealous you got this mower. Glad you enjoyed it brother, I've got alot of catching up to do now

Dude...that mower is awesome! Hate to see it go!
It’s a sad day for sure, but we have something coming for the big lawns that we tackle here in Mowssouri… 🤫
Hey thanks for the video take care.
Thanks for watching!
I remember when that 1sty pulley broke. Obviously a design flaw. I hope they don't charge a mint for those replacements. Keep up the grind brother!!!

FYI On March 30, Shawn From Spencer Lawn Care filmed a Ventrac that's enclosed. Also driven up into truck to scoop mulch for mulching. Pretty cool.

I got the 4500z and a 72” finish mower a few weeks before the 4520 was released… I was pissed!!!!

We're good! Thank you for checking on us. I really appreciate that!
how are you liking the aircooled engine?
For the jobs that I tackle, I think it puts too much stress on the engine. I think the liquid cooled would probably be the better option.
Sweet 😋

Moment of silence for the WAM.😅

All the dealers got stocked up just in time for an economic down turn…
Very probable…buy what you need now and forecast ahead.

Where is. Your ventrac dealer
My Ventrac dealer is in Benton, KY. Thanks for watching!
Keep UP the good Work
Yes sir! Thanks for the continued support! 👍
take a picture on your phone
Ok
Weld it for a spare
I was going to type in the same thing
That's a great idea! We actually talked about that. But I'm pretty sure I tossed it in the scrap pile the other day.
I'll be sure to do that on the next one! These pulleys aren't cheap!
Love the paint job. I may have to be a copy cat
Had to go with the Brand colors…
Don’t be buying no Toro / Cub Cadet stuff. Ride the Ferris. Sweet suspension saves your back and a fantastic cut goes with it.
