Great idea! I think these should be sold in stores. Do some out of recycled wood, and bamboo. Seriously this is one ideas that makes people rich for example white out, post it's,

And if you want one but can't make one, then buy a really nice board as a gift to your nearest woodworker. It is a nice gift and he might just make you something nice in return with it.

This is a really good holiday gift idea - I like the way you made the sled to cut thinner stock for this project, a great technique that has many application other than this one project.

This is awesome, there is a cabinet place down the road from my house that lets you take any of their scrap wood might have to check out what kinda wood they have laying around for a small project like this

I absolutely love paduke wood because of its color. I even made a cuttingboard with strips of paduke, darkwalnut, oak, and Popular on the outside edges of the board.

Nice little project. I recently made a 'business card holder' which I later realised was also good for loyalty cards, I hadn't thought of the gift card angle. I like the idea of making gift cards a nicer gift. My family often want just vouchers and it feels a little low effort. Still time before christmas, so I best get making...

Well, by the tidbit at the end there, I suppose that means I'm officially a woodworker then. I've got a pair of walnut boards that have been sitting in my garage for about a year and a half that I just have not been able to bring myself to use for a project yet, as I haven't found anything I feel is nice enough to warrant cutting them.
