Thanks Paul for posting this video. I am attempting to restore a Continental GT250 of my own, and seeing you having a "burn up" on this lovely example has given me renewed enthusiasm to get in that cold garage and muddle on!
G'day Paul well done fantastic job on the Royal Enfield the Owner will be surprised, that blood dog, hope it never drops the bike or bites you, cheers mate Neil 🤠
Hi Paul my pal had one in 71 he toasted me easily one my Tiger Cub, couldn't get near the handling as my bike had been very tired on the suspension front. As I remember he had no baffles in...
Leant someone my Goldie silencer after he complained his Velo Thruxton would only do 70. He came back next week telling me he binned the pattern silencer after the Goldie one gave him 110
Sounds much better after your modification, and certainly seems to be more eager to rev. Mechanical noise also appears reduced Did you reset the inlet valve adjustment? You mentioned it was rather generous in the first video Apologies if you did and i somehow missed it
@@paulhenshaw4514 cheers for replying Paul PS in a motorcycle-unrelated question, when is the last time that Hymer motorhome next door actually moved? It's in all of your riding videos and seems to have grown roots

I am so jealous of that beautiful bike!
sounds fantastic Paul, if I could get mine to perform like that i would be in 7th heaven. Can't get 4 gears to select properly let alone 5.
That’s a good example, it wasn’t that far off when you got it but it takes a skilled touch to get the best out of it.
That poor old Mk1 Tina rotting away :(
Yes, hammering s**t out of the baffles is just what I would have done as the 16 year old first owner of that 250. 😂 May you never grow old.
Thank you!

Nice ride. Great looking gauge panel. Thanks.
spinning over nicely now paul its a lot more willing!
just a quick jetwash to neutralize the salt 👍👍
I had one of these in 1979. I still LONG for another, Not sure my back and knees could take it now though :)

Revs nicely, thanks to a bit of Valley tuning and the suspension doesn't seem crashy.
A 'gentle' steel toecap?😁
That's awesome!
Thanks!
What gloves ptay tell 🤲 ? Great comparison Vid....Not my cuppa..but takes all sorts 👍
Sounds mechanically quieter following the work in the primary chain case.
give it the guns an it runs nice what a day you ad in the sun good un Paul abit cool for bikes an dog walking today
Brilliant
Thanks!
Stuck in bed with a really bad chest infection, so I'm riding with you vicariously
So you adjusted the clutch to improve the gearchange,
More good work in getting this bike just running and changing gear much better ,if that dog ever fetches you off you will have lots of witnesses .

Thanks - and yes, I sorted the loose valve clearance!

PS in a motorcycle-unrelated question, when is the last time that Hymer motorhome next door actually moved?
It's in all of your riding videos and seems to have grown roots
It actually belongs to my parents and was mainly used to attend race meetings, which we don't do so much of anymore.
Some of the gear change finesse depends on the rider ? Will the owner of this one be fortunate enough to try the bike out under your eagle eye?
Was that an aluminium tank fitted to the bike
Yes, it is.
