🎼 Being my favorite bassist from youth, it's sad to me that Mel went along with Brewer to eliminate Farner from 🇺🇸 Grand Funk Railroad 🇺🇸 .

Though Mel was probably the more accomplished instrumentalist in the group, it's just not possible for them to be Grand Funk Railroad without Farner. It took two guys to replace him.
When they stopped being a "classic rock trio," they lost their way.
@@jhandle4196 🎼 Not to mention Farner being the accomplished songwriter - music arranger....you see neither of them writing or recording any new material because they can't . 🎶 Farner has put out some amazing solo albums, plus 3 excellent Christian ✝️ albums with some awesome songs🎵.
"Them".....one album "FLINT" which wasn't that good either. Easier for Farner to replace them, than them to replace him.
Both versions WILL NEVER BE GRAND FUNK, but Mark Farner & band will always sound more like GRAND FUNK RAILROAD then Don Brewer, Mel Schacher and whoever they decide to try to replace Mark with, because no one will ever have Farner's
signature sound and that's a natural fact!!!!
Mark Farner sadly missed. Mark Farner was the genius behind this band and wrote most of their hits. Of their first 6 albums Mark Farner wrote all of the songs except 5. When 'We're An American Band' came out then it was mostly Farner and Brewer co-writing the album with Brewer writing the title song. After that album Farner still wrote the majority of the songs. This is the going trend it seems these days though. It's all about the brand not the band. Numerous classic rock bands out there performing with one or no original members left. Sad. Foreigner - no original members left, Journey - one original member left, Styx - one original member left, Kansas - two original members left, Molly Hatchet - no original members left, Little River Band - no original members left. I guess the list goes on and on and will continue to do so.

I grew up in a Detroit Suburb, Ecorse, MI. Saw Bob Segar perform at a place that was known as the Harbor Lights, a venue right on the Detroit River, and other up and coming stars out of the area, but when i was introduced to GFR i was blown away. This is a disgrace to Mark Farner al because of that greedy bas---- Don Brewer. I will never spend a penny on seeing these want to BE's.

It is Max Carl who was in 38 Special for 2 hears and helped finish one song that became a big hit for 38 Spcl. Song titled 'Second Chance'

Yea, Mark did want more than the others but now I think he would take less.
I would hope if Mark comes back, they could keep Bruce as well. He’s been there close to 25 years. Plus, he can really play.😊
