I hope to do what I did in 2013, next year. See everyone during prelims, hangout in the lot for semi's and watch finals. Best way to enjoy the week. So proud of Bloo and Boston, glad Mandarins are solidifying their progress. Feels a little off without The Cadets but another solid year for DCI.
If the bluecoats would play the first notes fully instead of synth, i would be amazed. I think it is a little bit of a cop out. Fine, corps can synth their whole shows and run and prance around. Also, no capes!
That large section of scoring involving general effect is bogus because the judge tend to fall into a favorite style or a favorite corps. The Blue Devils have been winning on high GE scores for years even though many times other corps are "clearly" the fan favorites and get the crowd more excited. If GE is not about the fans enjoyment, then what the hell is the point?
People enjoy pop music over superior jazz or classical. Crowd favorites cannot be trusted for determining championships. 88 and 92 VK dci world champs!
I was NOT ready to see Steve Rondinaro's super wrinkled face. I know age happens to us all, but damn. Love that guy. Also, they must make these videos for complete noobs because everything that they tell us in them is stuff we already know. No, the high score will NOT be broken Saturday but I do look forward to seeing the Bluecoats win their second world championship Saturday. Let's hope Phantom can beat out Crown also. SUTA!
