What makes this better is knowing this is LITERALLY ASMR, because of the art of Foley in filmmaking...recreating all of the sounds post-filming (because background noise, camera noise, etc)

the strudel scene in inglorious basterds hits different now that I learned that pig lard was the ingredient of the pastry due to a butter shortage during WWII which caused Shosanna to have a hard time eating it because of her Jewish heritage but at the same time it would be sus if she refused to eat causing her to blow her cover in front of Hans.
@@carliesacutieface that’s a good theory and it seems to be the case sometimes. he never actually saw her face when she ran away during the opening scene and this is pretty much what we hold onto when we think about Shosanna’s safety (that and the fact that she adopted a new identity). but Landa is not dumb and I totally agree that he kinda knew what he was doing when asked her to have a strudel with him. every action and word by Landa throughout the whole film has an ominous undertone, he's a well built character just like Waltz is a hella good actor.

No country for old men. There's another part where he blows up a car and goes into the drugstore while everybody is distracted with the explosion. The Hours is basically entirely an ASMR experience, but specially the final dialogue between Meryl Streep and Juliane Moore, so good! very up close clear and crisp sound, you can tell the focus was the dialogue, the words, there’s barely any lighting at all too. also, most Tarantino movies have good ASMR, I imagine it’s the mic/sound setup, but specially on Kill Bill, the dialogue between Uma Thurman and Daryl Hannah while she reads and smokes, you can hear the cigarette burning, the mic just captures it so well! and I feel like ASMR in movies are one of our first ASMR experiences so it comes with a good feeling of nostalgia too! 🥰
The Rambo scene is pretty sad. I went into the first movie unbiased thinking it was going to be a standard action movie, it was much much better than that. A shame most people see him as a meathead action guy when his roots started with a quite emotional film
He insists on the cream because authentic Jews wouldn’t be able to consume that in line with their theocracy. notice how it's mostly old movies? because they used to create real art, they took their time with the acting and emotions and the whole process of certain acitivities like pouring a drink, writing something down etc. nowadays it's either a 5 minute scene of complete silence with emotionless faces or it's a chaotic scene with bitchy soundtracks and "funny" lines. man i miss the 80's and 90's

The whole movie of "No country for old men" is ASMR.
