@@tq92211he’s really not. If you lived in LA it’s clear he talking gang activity and not inner city.
“You not the homie” = he saying you not a gang member. He don’t mean it as in “well anybody from the ghetto is my pal!”

I love Pac but I can’t take issue with anything that Mob James said. He just said that Pac wasn’t from their neighborhood and didn’t grow up with that LA gang politics which is true. There’s nothing controversial about it, I think that Pac was showing his loyalty to Death Row when he punched Orlando, not trying to go at it with the crips. It just so happened that Orlando happened to be a crip.

Okay him giving a shout out to the Bay and Oakland makes some sense. Okay, but then the whole "West Coast Ridah" throwing the W like pseudo gang banging talking about "sets". Ideally, what MOB James is saying has some level of truth to it, but, it is also clear that he has deep resentment towards Pac. I think it stems from the fact that the rest of M.O.B members accepted, loved, and celebrate Pac, more than they do him to this day. We get it, James! He was not from Compton, or the M.O.B section, but everyone has their own minds and the crew felt Pac was a genuine dude and embraced his spirit, while you were on the sideline side-eyeing him with jealousy about the love he was getting, and not allowing yourself to get to know him. James has absolutely no reason to have any beef towards Pac. This dude and others are making decent money off being associated with Pac. If the events of 9/7/96 would have never happened and Pac was alive to this day, nobody outside of Compton would even know who a James McDonald or what MOB is.
