@@miaellax i want to know your trick on the driver! i tell you what i show you my 60*wedge darts on the green and you teach me to drive! on a good day i drive 250-270 yards and you seen to do it always! x
I noticed she does the exact same thing I used to do that was really hurting my putting. To big of a back swing and having to slow the club down before contacting the ball. It was something that I never realized I was doing till a friend pointed it out to me one day on the course. I worked a lot on my putting and taking less of a back swing and it helped my pace control and accuracy immensely.
Please do more like this - really good to hear your advice for how a good golfer should play shots on the course rather than fine tuning excellence - best video of 2021 👍
Pete, I love that you’re helping her visualize her shots. I think that’s so lost in teaching these days. Once you see what you’re trying to do, it’s a game changer. Thanks for the great vid.
Peter, would like to see more videos like this - it was really helpful for this armature :) I hope you keep working with Mia and keep us updated on her improvements.
This girl swings the club unbelievably well, Peter’s insight is super helpful and I picked up so many good tips specifically about visualization, awesome vid pal keep it up
Great video Peter! You did such a nice job of helping her see all that golf has to offer and the pitfalls that plague us all. Mia seems like such a great soul and a pleasure to work with, whom learns quickly, and appreciates your help. I believe that if she is willing to let you guide her, she could be shooting par or under in a very short time.
She has such a beautiful, simple yet powerful swing. Thanks 🙏🏼 for this video. Course management is by Achilles - great advice (process, process, process) … and be positive - it’s not luck 🍀 … it’s skill. Awesome 👏🏼 job Peter Finch. And … what a delightful golfer Mia is. I can see her on the LET with a bit of coaching and great mentoring from the likes of yourself. Wow. 👏🏼
This was brilliant. Mia has come on a long way since I saw her. Lovely swing and just needs a bit more confidence in her abilities. Well coached throughout Peter. You definitely helped her drop her score👏👏
She plays amazingly well for 18 months!! The only thing I could possibly recommend to work on is for her short game, she decelerates into the ball (both on chips and putting). If she sorted that out, she'll be breaking 80 in no time!! Great player!
She's the perfect example of someone who works properly on their swing instead of just hitting balls. Time to improve that decision making and the score will drop. Great swing 💪
@@mr5039 a lot of people think theyre working on their swing when theyre not or theyre doing the wrong things or trying something new every week. Get one lesson and religiously work on what the pro tells you to and forget trying everything else and you'll improve
@@GP-yc2it its ridiculous how much it makes up your score. I can't remember what pro said it but he claimed he could take the worst amateur swing and just through his superior strategy and course management knowledge would break 80 or at least better the amateurs best score by 20+ shots. And i would 100% believe it. Pete knocked 8 shots off mias score like and no offence to Pete, cause obviously we love him, but hes not exactly a super high level pro golfer. Its such a difference
Congrats Mia and Peter!!! That was pretty damn good and fun to watch. Absolutely a great amount of info ---- typically a person doesn't get. Priceless stuff right there for game (hell, even practice) improvement. Be Safe
Great ! I’ve been waiting for this round, thought Mia would benefit from one of the RUclips Pros. She chose the strongest match for her personalty. Onward and upward, and well done Peter too, a great coach!
Really good video to watch an amateur learning on the fly and making mistakes a lot of us make. It didn't hurt that you guys had great banter throughout, Mia was a lot of fun!
Definitely like this video. Can't believe she only been playing for 18 months. Insane. So when can I come play golf with you all? Sounds like a blast!!
Very cool video Pete. Enjoyed watching you talk an amateur through shot selection, course management, emotions, etc.. Really cool watching her reaction at the end to posting a great score. Would enjoy more of these in the future. Good things for Mia too. Congrats!
I love this type of video for you Pete! Especially if your body isn't up to playing golf as often currently, caddy for/coach others and share your infinite wisdom
Very enjoyable. It was the two of you. Just the basics, visualize the shot, line up puts...even the short ones. Still amazing 87, given the brutalized heather.
one of your best videos mate IMO. Really like the putting tips, especially the part about imagining the ball coming out of the hole and going back. Top work. 👍
Its interesting watching this as Mia is a good representation of a 'noob' golfer. Isn't really thinking - just a get up and whack it approach. Can tell she has put a lot of work in at the range on her driving but lacks imagination and much of a short game. Impressive for a new golfer and looking forward to her putting the same effort and gains in her on short game
I totally agree and am totally with you!!! I think the same thing about myself haha!! Golf is a game learnt over a long period of time - so each piece of the puzzle I need to work on!! My next steps are going to be short game practicing 👀👀 💃🏽💃🏽 can’t wait 🤗🤗
@@miaellax Hey Mia. Have look at SpencerDoodle's comment. I think it would help you. I bet you have had lots of well meaning advice online and feel free to ignore this but if I may, can I suggest staying down longer over your putts. The putter needs to accelerate through the ball even on the shortest putt. Good luck with your golfing adventure. You'll be breaking 80 soon...no problem. 👍
Great videos Peter. Mia has a fantastic swing and is really good tee to green. I think you should have another video in your studio focusing on her putting technique as this is the only thing stopping her at the moment from shooting really low scores.
Very good job of coaching and caddying Pete. You evaluated to player’s game for a few holes, then shifted to game management and a lot of encouragement. With that distance off the tee, Mia should be able to drop a lot more shots with a little more work on her short game. Well done, and I hope your wrist and back are healing up.
This is sick. Only been playing golf for 18 months and has the hardest part of the game down. Thought Mia was just a pretty golfer but I was wrong. Nice caddy skills Mr Finch.
This is a great change of pace from your typical content. Excellent to see your coaching skills at work, which, I have to say, are awesome. Hope to see more of this, and maybe Mia back on your channel too. Great stuff Pete.
I believe this is one of the best videos you have done. There was a big difference in the holes when you used the course management. She has such a beautiful swing. If you saw her swing on the range you would think she was a single digit handicap
Perhaps a series where you take someone like Mia and guide her towards single handicap. This was a very useful video with lots of good tips all in one place
Great video Pete. I really enjoyed watching you take a competent golfer and showing them what they can do to be better. How to think about the shot instead of just grip it and rip it. Mia was great too, a good sport and an infectious personality.
Mia's game is remarkably similar to my current game. In so many aspects, it's uncanny. I've been playing a lot longer but that said I don't get out on the course much. I found her tremendously relatable. Nice video, Peter.
Brilliant video Pete…very informative as course management is so important in getting scores and ultimately your handicap down…I’m nowhere near the best swinger of a golf club but I am a decent plotter around the course which makes a huge difference 👍
Awesome video, and I know a lot of it is for the camera, but continually reminding the student about their score and what they need to break a milestone is a surefire way to get them to choke. Don't add up score until the end, and don't think about it! And Mia is awesome, absolutely 100% a putting lesson will shave 5 strokes off her scores. As others have said, pulls back a long ways and then unsmooth swing through to control pace. Pendulum putting! Loved this video!
Mia may not have realized what you were doing but I loved how you took her stress away by joking about the Volvo you pointed out as a target. So no stress on the shot. Good Caddie!!!
She has a heck of a nice swing for a beginner! And she's so darn sweet.🙂. Must have been a real fun round to instruct and good for her. I'm sure she really learned from your pointers and will get much better much quicker
Well played Mia! Awesome video showing how to think through things a bit more while out on the course. Will try and implement a few notes into my own game to hopefully make me play a bit better. Thanks for a great video!
Great video Pete, on course lessons with you would be worth the money!! Mia's driving is excellent for someone only 18 months into their golf journey. Always carry a bag of sweets or a flapjack for the back nine to keep your energy up. Also don't forget to keep hydrated as it helps with concentration. Chipping needs a little work on distance control (don't we all!) But definitely smash in some putting practice. A good routine and better distance control and you would save probably 5-6 shots on a round. It makes a big difference. Well done Mia, keep up the good work. 🏌️🏌️
Great video... A few more coached rounds and and you said, distance control with her putter, amd I can see Mia easily getting into the single figures over par very quickly! Wish I could hit it like Mia but my strokes have gone massively inconsistently lately!! Thanks Pete, this will definitely help me on the course too!
That tip about marking each putt and taking that extra few seconds is golden. This is something I started doing just a couple of months ago. Ironically because I was in my first matchplay competition so had to putt in turn. I became aware I was draining all those 4-5ft putts. Since then I have gone from an average of 36 putts per round to 32 and my handicap has gone down by 3. I was just giving the course 4 shots per round.
