These young ladies need all the support and encouragement that we can give because it's really a historic moment in history. Best wishes and good luck to u all, whatever the outcome of this world cup, u are all winners and champions for your country.
It's a honour to see Jamaica to play my Brazil team. Make the best team wins. Wish Brazil and Jamaica to go into the next round 🇧🇷⚽️🇯🇲 I love Bob Marley
From I was in high school there were girls that would have been world stars , but sadly there wasn’t any women’s football programs... I’m happy to see the reggae girls make it to the World Cup... thanks 🙏🏾 miss Marley...
Much respect for Jamaica! Coming from a Mexico supporter since my dad is from Mexico. I’m US born but my mom is from Belize. I always have that love for the countries in the Caribbean
Its not a popular subject. I wish people would stop trying to force women's sports down our throat. If people want it they will pay for it. Which means you will have plenty of sponsors .
Such a great story! I have to think that Bob Marley would be immensely proud of his daughter for her work, and of all these young Jamaican women who will shortly represent their country in the Women's World Cup! All the best Jamaica! ✌

"Corporate sponsors didn't want to give them a chance" Business hates risk and places ZERO value on gender equality. Capitalism failed the Jamaican women's team and this is exactly the injustice and inequality that Bob spent his life criticizing through music. It's great to see Cedella carry on this legacy with the team.
Although I don’t like handouts, I think it’s different for a national team and Olympic sports. Unless there are benefactors are willing to invest without expecting any sort of monetary returns, those sports can’t survive.
I mean the issue is not about equality. There is just less demand for women's football it's not about risks to these businesses it's the fact that they almost certainly won't draw enough eyes to make it worth it. I'm not saying I disagree with your analysis of cooperate interests. You're right but also this is a demand issue. Personally, I like to watch it but it's certainly an inferior product to the men's game. I think FIFA should do something with the women's game to make it more attractive to audiences, monopolistic competition in a sense, make the game different enough from the men's game that it doesn't compete for attention. Also living in Jamaica, it's hard to convince girls to want to play in the first place which is natural since they don't have stars to identify with in the same way boys do growing up. But for the life of me I could not get a single one of my female friends in high school to care enough to actually learn how to properly pass a ball. So if there is no demand for the game because the peak of the women's game is less attractive and there is a shortage of supply, meaning we don't even get the peak women most of the time then it's difficult for any business to sponsor that
good piece....... the 3 women they interviewed seem like if they could play for other countries, that jamaica would be an after thought ..... glad that the team as a whole can inspire women of jamaica, women of the caribbean , and woman all over to go achieve their goals , when others might not necessarily believe in them...
