    Yep, it sucks. I'm at a 13mm, been that size for over a year now, and it's always falling out when you barely touch it. My ear holes only get tight after not wearing gauges for about a week or so. But what I do is I just take my plugs out when I sleep to help. I have no intentions of stretching past a half inch until' I'm 60. Where I plan to stretch up to a full inch and a half in order to have the wise old man look.

    22mm in three years at both ears. Started with tapers till 12 mm, then continued with dead stretching. Its what this girl says guys and girls: with dead stretching u cant damage your ears if u care for them. If the jewlry goes in fine. If its not u just wait and dont force things. So just take it easy and enjoy the proccess cause it can take a long addictive time hehe. Anyway keep expressing yourselfs your way!

    I use tapers. When I get it half way I do a little twist(like a screw) and it slides right in with no pain. I use acrylic as well. Take out daily to clean ears and rub with vitamins e oil and soak the tapers in alcohol or antiseptic. I only keep the tapers in for a few days before I put the plugs in. I'm only in a 10G right now, but going larger(slowly.) To each their own. KEEP THOSE GAUGES AND EARS CLEAN PEOPLE! Great tips!

    I am using tapers, I stop when there’s any pain at all. I use the bands from the previous size if I can’t get the taper far enough through. Slowly but surely over the last 2 weeks I’ve gone from a 2 to a 0. I am using an acrylic and have been without any issues. 😅 I intend to use the taping method to get to a 00 and 1/2 inch. Thankfully there’s been no blowouts.

The first time I tried gauging I was doing it COMPLETELY WRONG, thinking back on it I do not know what I was doing or why I thought it was okay. I would cry every time I went up a size because of the pain. Thank god I didn’t get to far and I ended up stoping. I used taper, but I would use a taper over the whole weekend at least. I never forced one all the way through straight away. They would just hang half way through. Because I liked the method, I moved to spirals. You can keep them in comfortable enough to stretch a bit whenever ready in the shower. Almost like a fast safe way to do it. For impatient people. Though I have still done them over months to 00. First ear done, just got a 8-9mm on the other with a spiral.

    I raced through sizes 12-8 from dead stretching, they genuinely were do easy in like a week or two. Size 6 took almost a month so i looked into taping because id seen using tapers is a bad idea, and that helped speed up the stretch that otherwise would have probably taken another month. Size four probably took another month, but sizing up to two took a little over two and size zero is now going about the same. I use electrical tape by the way, sticks to itself and had no adhesive! I add tape probably once a week after nightly cleaning, added some a few nights ago in fact! Im excited to go to my next size soon!!

      You could try deadstretching from the beginning, however the weight alone of the plug isn't enough to stretch your ears. I would recommend a good 5 minute oil massage every morning and night to keep loosening up the tissue and you should be able to dead-stretch even at smaller sizes!

    • @rickyrick3099
      @rickyrick3099 3 года назад +1

      I would suggest start wearing them.....I didn't wear any for years so I got my lobes repierced at 16g....just waiting for them heal . I may try the taping method at some stage but think it's more practical to start with tapers for those small sizes....all the best!!

    • @coolhairboi
      @coolhairboi  3 года назад +3

      I definitely say if you want to stretch from a basic piercing, first, make sure your hole is still open since you don't wear earrings much and it might have closed! If it is open, it's probably very small, and I would start with 16g or even 18g depending on how small your hole is. 14g is a huge jump to make from where you're probably at! Sometimes for 16g or 18g it is helpful to have tapers because deadstretching is tricky at those small sizes. Of course, you could also skip these steps and get pierced again at a much larger gauge! I got pierced at a 4g, but you don't have to go that big if you still want the possibility of closing them up again. If your holes have closed, getting them pierced at a 14g or 12g will be a very helpful start and still allow you to shrink your stretched ears back to a normal size one day. Since I got pierced at 4g, that's the smallest size I'll be able to go to.

    Great video!! I just bought a steel dead stretching kit!! (1mm - 13mm)!!!!
    I used tapers to get where I’m at now (13mm), my left lobe had a horrible blow out a week ago ☹️☹️☹️ I have to let my lobe heal for quite a while before I get up to a bigger size. But I am just glad I feel I’m doing things right this time.
    If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you so much!

    Thanks for this info. I've been thinking about stretching my ears for awhile but haven't gotten around to it, and I didn't know there was a better way to do it than using tapers.
    Also, where did you get the chill Zelda music??? I totally dig it!

    i bought an acrylic stretching kit(tapers) about a month and a half ago, started at 14g. honestly, I think my ears are fine, like my skin really isn’t sensitive to anything, and I’m now at 10g. I do clean my ears and the plugs everyday, but I don’t see the problem with acrylic or tapers or not waiting like 2 months lol

      i definitely don’t recommend using acrylic because there isn’t a way to really sterilize it. and i really don’t recommend going to fast, you can cause huge damage to your ear, but if it really works for you then that’s alright ig.

    How do you dead stretch when you have virgin ears (like standard earring gauge)? Like do I still try to fit the smallest plug possible in?

    I have 8g tappers only time i skipped was 14g to 10 then 10g to 8g. Reason being they didnt have 12g or 9g. Personally i use tappers cause they're easily available. I am going to buy a stretch kit they come with acrylic tappers and plugs.

    Thanks for the video you really taught me a lot. I put in silicones in after my last stretch mostly because I sleep stomach down and I pick a side to turn my head and, that ear would always be irritated the morning after it caused a lot of problems for me. Also I’m dealing with a bit of a situation my ears “weep” is a term I heard idk if you have any advice for that, they aren’t blown out they just start oozing clear stuff when I take my tunnels out. I will be buying some of the stuff you mentioned on your video lol I feel like a caveman after hearing you talk about the amount of care you put into your ears.

    I don't have much experience or know much but I feel like the reason tapers can be a bad idea just comes back to patience where people don't want to wait for their ears to be ready for the tapers

    interesting! I'm thinking about stretching my ears and the first video I watched recommended tapers until 4g but I thought it seemed kind of harsh even though I don't really know how that works. I think I'll try dead stretching! sounds like a much nicer way to do it
