Bring back the dollar bin. This series should be about turning nothing into something or finding heat in unexpected places. An Al Green record or the reissue of The Groups Feedback (which is insanely rare and not something you find "digging" unless you've dedicated your whole life to finding records), that should be easy mode for any half decent beatmaker. "Yeah, I'm gonna pick three RANDOM records from the new/reissue soul/funk section..." Come on, man. Watch Marco Polo and Black Milk again to see how it's done.

Am I the only one who hears songs from old artists on Rhythm Roulette and they are always dope but when you try to search the catalogue yourself you never find anything as good?
U gotta be familiar with their complete catalogue. Some artists had a certain sound in one decade than the next.

yea i know they get some hours I peeped it more with Havocs video and 9th even Hi Tec. This just seemed like a whimsical session. Maybe I've been spoiled by the last 5 videos.
Stupid comment at 2:08. This series has shown that anything can be sampled and flipped, nothing is off limits.
Disappointing as he then takes the easy option and uses an obvious loop from Al Green.

The purpose of this series is to make a beat from the random records chosen. Not opt out and take the easy way out. Kinda pointless for him to be on here.
He should've challenged and pushed himself to try samples and music he doesn't usually use or like. The sounds he dismissed could've been chopped up and might've worked in a beat (like the cowbell).
I think he makes it look like the easy option. Im not saying he is the RZA but I do feel that there was a lot of film focusing on some wack random angles. If they had focused more on the beat making I am sure more of the magic would come through. It is a dope beat though.
Lee Radmall The issue is not with the beat he made. i agree with you it is dope. but he cheated b/c the name of the game is pick 3 records blindfolded and make a beat. He did use either of the beats he picked. I'm pretty sure any and all producers can make a beat from an al green sample. the talent is making a beat from a random selection like a country record and the beat still be dope for example.
