when I open cross tools command, I get this message: 'C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I wonder if you have an idea what is it saying about?
Great video, unfortunately I haven't reach compilation, when I open cross tool command VS2019 it opens and the first line says something like "not expected \ Microsoft at this time" not as it says in your window. Maybe do you have idea about how to set correctly Visual studio, i guess is something about path - environment variables. I have tried to configure but not results. Thanks so much for your help
Thanks for the video. I have installed Visual Studio 2017 on my system but the X86 cross tool command prompt is not getting installed by default. Is there a specific way to install it ?
Hello, thanks for the video. I am able to compile the UDF into the case via cross tool command. I want to know if it is possible to import the case with loaded UDF back into Workbench again to run parametric study? Because once I load the case into fluent in workbench, then the same error shows up and the cycle repeats. If not I will have to redo the same case with different input via cross tool command multiple times.
Hey! i get error message when i read case file that reads "Error: File has wrong dimensions (2). Error Object: #f Error: Error reading "C:/Users/asad/Desktop/case.cas". Error Object: #f" May be this is the reason udf build is still giving error. Any help???
@@ramgupta7697 It was case file error. maybe your analysis is 2D type and ansys opens the way (as shown in video) is 3D type. I found this link from Ansys student community to open fluent via cfd. "%awp_root201%\fluent tbin\win64\fluent.exe" 2d -t0 You can change 2d /3d in the link as it suits you. Although i never resolved compilation error so i better chose to interpret the .C file.

This totally works; you are a lifesaver.
When I load the file I see the error message in v182 version
I followed the steps, but still I am getting that error...😔
Can i use command prompt ?. I can't find x86 cross tools although i have installed VS 2019
This totally works, worth trying. Thanks
where can i find Cross tools i am not seeing that anywhere. I have installed vs2019
Hi, which workload is to be selected while installing VS for Fluent?
Is there any option without visual studio ?
How to do this if I installed ansys in D drive?
Hey! So, I did everything you did in the video and it still shows the same error! Please help.
Me too!!! I am trying to solve it for so long...
Did you try installing different versions of visual studios?
Great video. Saved me from alot of stress!
I have followed the same steps as you described here but still the same error occurring. please help
Someone said it worked with 2012 visual studio. Try to install a few versions of it.

I have solved this issue by opening Cross tool command as administrator for the first time, after that it starts well
Thanks so much

I think there is no need for x86 crosstools. Just type in x64 cross tools and that will work fine
press windows logo on your keyboard and search for Prompt.
you will see command prompt and below it you will see the cross tools command prompt
Thank you ! That works great !

Did u try restarting the system?
try older visual studio, for me its work for visual studio 2010
Thank you SO MUCH !
you are the best !
It's also worth to reinstall Ansys - and install it on your default folder - it worked for me
did not work for me also, should I set parallel in fluent set up before I save the case file?? thank u
Alvin Ante try downloading an earlier version of visual studio command tool because ANSYS is not very up to date for their compilers
@@catherinesc88 okay i'll try that thank you :) i have VS 2019 currently installed. is it okay to have two VS versions in one laptop??
Alvin Ante yes because some programs still require the older versions I have the past 10 years worth of command tool on my laptop lol
@@catherinesc88 ok i will try it thanks 😁
Hi again :) tried using VS 2012 and it still did not work. Does the compiler error happen if there is error in writing the code??
Excelent explanation!
nice video! thanks a lot!
You're perfect! Thank you :)
How do I go to results after finishing post-processing tkz
You might have to export data for post processing.
