WEBINAR | From Agreement to Action | Countdown to Cali COP16: the participation of regions and cities
ICLEI Cities Biodiversity Centre has launched a webinar series titled “From agreement to action: the key role of subnational and local governments in the Global Biodiversity Framework implementation”, to keep the momentum going towards the next UN Biodiversity COP, that was displayed by subnational governments and cities’ achievements at COP15, and their commitments to contribute to the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and its targets.
The 6th webinar, organized on 28 August 2024, presents the road from CBD COP15 to COP16 and considers how subnational and local governments are leading in biodiversity action. It was also a briefing session for interested representatives of subnational and local governments and their stakeholders who will be attending the UN Biodiversity COP16, to inform and prepare our constituency on its crucial role in shaping policies and committing to real change and progress in implementing the GBF at COP16.
The webinar series is organised with support from partners United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, International Union for Conservation of Nature, (IUCN), European Committee of the Regions (CoR), and Regions4.
