Does this one or the new one work on Xbox One online version? I don't have desktop Minecraft and I am constantly fishing in Minecraft (trying to fill a double chest with cooked fish)
This is GREAT! Tried two other designs by popular creators that did not work and was beginning to think there wasn't a working version. The ones with piston glitch out after the 1st catch or 2.
Hey Peter! If you are playing on pc and you hit the escape key and then select "options" and then select "controls" and then scroll down to the "use item / place block" setting and click on the button that says "right button", now hit the "enter" key on your keyboard. It should have changed your settings so that pressing enter on your keyboard will be your action button and it will continually fish for you. Now just set something on your enter key or use a binder clip to keep it down and you can fish afk!
This is the same one I made!!! I just adjusted it differently and I put it inside a "building" to keep me safe. It's so great!!! You did a nice job explaining everything here too. Very cool!!!!
Help! I built it exactly as it says, but when I cast and hold the action button the tripwires keep tripping and the door keeps opening, but I never catch anything. What am I doing wrong?
You may need to crouch walk a little forward or backward on the block...you are standing on a slab correct? Also let me know what version of the game you are on...console? Bedrock? Java? I will try to help!
@@KIDALOO the area was open and I was using a lure 2 rod, according to the game I was catching fish, but I want getting anything in the hoppers, chests or my inventory

I have build it, and it works really well, however the problem that I have with it is that after it catches something one time, it just keep reeling in and out and it takes at least 2 mins for it to catch something. Else. Anyway to help me with this?
Tbuddy01 - you may have to slightly adjust your positioning on the slab where you are standing. Also make sure the blocks above the water are open to the outside for better catch rates. Finally a rod with a lure enchantment will help with rates also!
KID-A-LOO For the 2nd and 3rd thing you said, I have done it. I just want to know what position do you prefer for a player to be on the slab were you are fishing?
Tbuddy01 - I usually step on the slab and try to position myself in the middle all the way forward. Sounds like it may be where you are aiming though...put your cursor right on the top of the door just underneath the slab and it should continuously fish.
Can confirm this still works on ps4! Ahh it’s amazing!! I’ve tried others I’ve used before but they for some reason don’t work. But this one 👌🏽 perfect!
I’m gonna test this on Xbox one soon because my favorite fish farm model is now obsolete! The fish farm is my favorite of any farm because you get so much more than just fish.
My FIRST catch was a fishing rod that had mending, curse of vanishing, luck of the sea II, and unbreaking III! Oh my gosh how lucky!!!! Don't worry if you dont get anything you would like within a couple of minutes keep trying; you might get the same one as me!!!! I hope this comment gives some people hope!!!!

Spedup Songs all you have to do is click on "right click" and then hit your "enter" button. That will tell it that you want enter to be your action button instead of right click.

Brandon Troyer - hmmmm....it could be an issue with the latest version. The PC version (Java) still works fine but hasn't gotten the aquatic update yet.
What version of the game are you playing on java, bedrock, console? Make sure you are standing on the slab and that you have that one piece of redstone dust placed.
You have to setup something to hold the right click down for you or change the action button in setting to be a key on your keyboard you can set something on to hold it down.

Thanks for the info, I was being a bit skeptical about if the fishing updates would allow for a player to gain XP whenever "that" player catches an item from fishing on the Xbox360; I thought that the fishing XP was only "allowed" (Updates/Patches and such lol) for the PC, and new console gens. xD
Phew, that's a relief. I just built a similar place for the farm, and when I started to become afk, I had realized that my XP harm was going to the right, meaning that you can gain XP from fishing. Also, that's for the tutorial on this farm! This will really help me "build" forward to fighting the enderdragon. (if my world even has a dungeon lol) :D
Hey Drew - make sure you are aiming just at the top of the iron door frame. Not sure it addresses your exact issue but I did find another Mac specific fish farm tutorial video with a similar design (same mechanics) so you can see if that looks like what you see as well. Bobber not being detected by tripwire....trying this on Xbox 1 bedrock version. I guess bedrock and java are different as in where the bobber floats on the water
Make sure you are aiming the crosshair at the top of the door. You need to put a block or half slab on top of the noteblock and another one in front of that.
Just watch through the tutorial one more time and make sure yours is setup exactly the same...I use this all the time and it definitely works. Good luck!
Ascended Master - make sure you placed the slabs and put your Redstone dust....the design works. I can help you troubleshoot if you tell me what it is doing...
This one still works in 1.13 but the new design works better than this one and is more stable....even if the chests and hoppers fill up it keeps on fishing!
It works on PC version 1.12 and I believe also on the console versions as well. It does not work on PE because there is no right click to hold down :( Good luck!
sparkledude47 yes - this works on the console editions as well. If you want it to run on autopilot you just need to figure out how to keep the button on your controller pressed (piece of tape or rubber band 😁).

ChunkyRagu89 - yes you should get xp every time you catch something. Once you get a mending rod it will fix itself as you fish!

similar problem, I'm on java edition, I'm getting the animations for catching but nothing is being caught or going into the hopper
@@creqr - if you are using a regular rod it may take a little longer. Also the rates will be better if the area above the water is open to the sky.

Ardelllx - yes it does....it can be a full block too. I prefer the look of a half slab there but you need one or the other.

You can AFK by tying a rubber band around your left trigger and handle, or set your remote down with the left trigger pulled

It doesnt show an option to change my right click to enter, it just shows “left click” when i try to change it

my string hotbox seems to be to big so I'm fishing and hitting the note block but when I catch a fish It doest retract it just keep going.

I am playing on mac, and when im right clicking it destroys the note block?
I put a piece of obby where the note block was, and now the fish will bite but it doesn't catch it

RealRupert - which system are you using to play the game? Are you plugging your controller in when you leave it or not?
KID-A-LOO in on Xbox 360 and I tried it with my controller unplugged and it turned off 15 minutes later so I plugged it in and it still didn't work
RealRupert - I haven't heard of anyone else having that issue...strange. 15 minutes of AFK fishing should still pull you a fair amount of loot.

This design worked on console prior to the aquatic update. It still works on java edition but not sure about the latest bedrock release.
