The UN1290 might get a score of about 18k on Cinebench R23 on initial tries but despite of these values, the power consumption is fairly high when stressed, which is why it will eventually throttle down to the values of a 11900H (without throttle) or a 6900HX (Usually never throttles).
I have the same model as that one But with the i7-13700h ,still going strong after about 1 yr of use, also have 2 other ones from minisforum as well and all going good.
you have so many pcs for now, give me one...
Not really cheap
Cheap is under £200
😂
But ypu get it free so that is cheap
It was the cheapest i9 when I checked. I still think it’s good value
@@leepspvideo Bro wanted the $1 PC 💀
May I ask I brought the UN1290 from Amazon, the CPU speed is 5.0GHz, but I windown system, it shows 12th Gen Intel(R) i9-12900HK but the speed is 2.5GHZ, is it somthing wrong? Many thanks!
It turbos at 5Ghz. This is usual these days to use less power when not working so hard
Hello, thanks for this video. Do you have the information on the power consumption of these devices? Could I feed it with 20 V instead of 19 V ?
@@artemmelnyk5522 I haven’t try asking Minisforum
No bad but, wishing it had OCULINK like UM780/790. (allowing future external graphics card expansion)
I have the NAB9 version ...its better and cheaper. No need to unscew anything . all the cooling is on bottom and the drives and ram etc. is on the top and you access them with an easy click off top cover. I also have USB-C on the front.
Wait, can somebody please tell why it's written "2.50 GHz"? Isn't it supposed to be "5.00 GHZ"? Check it on 16:07.
2.5 is standard LAN
@@tip0019 But that's supposed to be the speed of my internet connection? Am I right?
@@UsuiTakumiMeansPerfection well, I am no specialist but I am talking about the lan port. They come in different bandwidths, like 1 and 2.5 standard. And yes, it's all to do with your internal network and internet. Households normally use like 1 gig, just for intenet use, but if you have some nas, etc, you may want to have higher loads on the network like 2.5 or 10 gig (for exchanging files on your network, not internet related). Hope this helps.
@UsuiTakumiMeansPerfection Your Right the CPU show 2.5 Ghz i have one can can not get it past the 2.5 Ghz to 5Ghz.
@@tip0019 not talking about the LAN port read it again you missed the what was said.
He showed a 3.5 in mechanical drive, you cannot put an internal 3.5 in hdd in this unit. The largest 2.5 in mechanical hdd I have seen is 4 TB by Seagate, costs about $125 USD at Amazon U.S.
I searched for 2.5” HDD on Amazon the search results contained 3.5” drives. My mistake
@@leepspvideo yes, I understand, not a problem for me. Seagate does make a 2.5 in 4 TB drive, but it is 15 mm thick instead of 7 or 9 mm
@@SuperFredAZ might still fit
@@leepspvideo I don't think so, I have a similar model, besides, 2.5 in only require 5V power, 3.5 in require both 12 V and 5V, the mini pc does not supply 12 V, so even if it fit, it wouldn't work
@@SuperFredAZ I was thinking of the thickness fitting. Forgot about 12v in desktops
the thing you refer to as a monitor mount is called a vesa mount.......they are on the back of tvs also.......it can also be used with a monitor arm.
I’m aware of VESA. I called it a monitor mount as I think more people will identify with what it is.
The thing you refer to as a VESA mount is also a monitor mount....
Thanks Lee for this video preview, although I am saving for a newer Apple M4 air as my old Mac MacBook Pro has expired…😢! However, nice to see even your PC games complement (?) you }…”You look…good “…😂😂😂!
Have a great day!
Great use of the video blur filter. Alder Lake is where any Intel purchaser should likely start and for the price, this does look a fairly reasonable purchase for what it can do, so could last quite a while.
I like the nice little touches like the supply of screws for the 2.5" drive and the heatsink around the M.2, which should really be a standard feature in all mini PC's.
I don't know why any machine needs rubber feet to be removed to get at the case screws, when drilling a hole in the middle would easily allow access for a screwdriver without risking the feet losing their sticky grip.
I don't think this is cheap. No decent iGPU and an old i9 of 2 generations ago. I hope the AM5 barebones will be coming soon in my country. Because for almost the same price you can build a 8700G system then. The 8700G is finally on a price point it gets interesting to have one. But if you cant wait that long you might consider a 5700G with a AM4 barebone also?

Userbenchmank is biased meme
@@leepspvideo I don't see many small PC use cases where top 'multiplecore' CPU performance is the priority, but many where a decent GPU performance is needed. That seems the reason that small PC's without decent GPU power are always on sale ? They don't seem to sell well? I mean if you really need that much parallel processing power a normal PC with a dedicated GPU will have so much more power if it can render on the GPU that the choice for a small PC with a iGPU wouldn't be the 'adult' one. And your own bench shows that tasks which use 8 cores or less the i9 isn't better than the 8700G
@@pawelfilar single core it's the same between these two, 8 core the 8700G performs better and only in cases which the 14 cores can be used all together (which is only in real rare use cases outside benchmarking) the i9 is considerably faster off course.
@@erikkarsies4851 that's not my point. No should link to this portal, because its biased and unobjective
Bro now it's $328 no ram no ssd it feels like scamm
@@omaromari2871 I don’t see it as a scam at all, there are various configurations available. It’s still well priced for an i9
@@leepspvideo i don't mean a scam literally i mean it's really good deal ( my english is bad )
.
.
It is know for $300 🫠
Looks Awesome...😎
It would be interesting to know what the power consumption of the device itself is.
Wish I could afford that
I got mine yesterday - very impressed with it. My previous pc was based on an i7-4790k cpu so this little box was a quantum leap in performance. I'm not a huge gamer so the lack of a dedicated gpu doesn't bother me.
Only negative is that I'm not liking Win.11 so far but it's a case of getting used to it.
Thanks for your vid - I used it to install an ssd.
I also have Kubuntu installed on a 240GB ssd inside the case
Hardcore portable workstation mini pc, very nice... wish it was about $200 cheaper, though. I'd love to see how it handles Debian 12.
I have put a 240GB 2.5” ssd in the top with Kubuntu on it. Works great
1:30 You mention the space for a 2.5 inch SATA drive, then refer to a picture of a 3.5 inch drive ?? I'm assuming a 3.5" won't fit in it?
Just space for 2.5”. I searched Amazon for 2.5”, they showed me 3.5” 😃
Yes…I would never have anything more than a n100 CPU in such a small case. Likely to run too hot. I have a couple of n100 Trigkey G4s about £160 (when on offer) with 16GB RAM. I am able to run them for 24 hours nonstop doing AV1 encoding, I wouldn’t risk that on an i9 CPU in a NUC type case. Try running the i9 flat out with AV1 encoding for several days nonstop. A n100 CPU can easily substitute for a Raspberry Pi for a similar price once you add in all the accessories such as NVMe.
cooling is superb on this thing. You cant even hear the fan
How would this do while playing Red Dead 2?
@@Regigigas_YT I think it would struggle without a graphics card. Try looking on RUclips, see if anyone has tried it with integrated graphics
@leepspvideo no one has, sadly. So far it did well for me with integrated graphics in Minecraft with shaders.
small update here I have a Intel HD Graphics, according to my PC's settings. Would that be enough? @leepspvideo
@@Regigigas_YTthat’s integrated graphics. It’s unlikely to run well.
@@leepspvideo Refunded to my credit card lmaoooo
Just bought Celeste for my Switch instead xd

Too expensive
? It’s a great price for the specification.
