Mits, I feel weird correcting you, but I know people like your systems … I think your Plotter is a Mini, with six rings, rather than the even smaller five-ring Mini 5. (You said the same thing in your 2023 wrap up.)

😮 it’s definitely understandable all the uncertain feelings around the MD but definitely hoping you find its place with it, agree the paper is lovely ❤

Oh! it’s so funny that you’re using the MD 1d1p journal this year! I used it last year & am now back to A6 hobonichi avec😅 I really enjoyed using the A6 MD 1d1p last year but I gave up towards the end of the year because I didn’t hold back in stuffing it & though the binding held, it became much too big to comfortably journal in. It was really fun to use though! I loved the cream color of the midori paper & having the lines with the hours on the side made me feel like I never had fear of the blank page since there was something already on it! I went back to hobonichi for this year because I missed having the dated pages haha they’re a blessing & curse depending on how well I’m sticking to daily journaling but I wanted to be more intentional this year about daily use… at least jotting one line down, so I find comfort in the dates! I hope you enjoy the freedom of the MD journal! It’s really beautiful & I’m excited to see how you use it!! 😊❤

Interesting to hear your thoughts! I’m trying the 1day1page this year!

Late to the party! Great to see the systems that you are using this year! The Midori MD one page per day reminds me a lot of the Midori Hibino, that has two pages per day. It's a cute and chonky system, but it will set you back 5,000 yen and some change. I ultimately decided to pass it up.
I'm in a similar situation where I am trying to use up what I have, and resist the temptation to buy a new planner for 2024. I went a little crazy with my purchases at Traveler's Factory Kyoto in 2022, so I want to plow through that first before purchasing another planner.

I loved seeing your lineup for this year. ❤ It's fun to see what others are using and what they are using them for. Thanks for the update! 😊

Omg. I have been following you for a long time and I feel this is the first year you will not be using the hobonichi. Looking forward to seeing your experience. Sometimes I feel like changing too ( but i am a creature of habit).

Ohh I watch you for the Hobonichi. ☹️ Your style is quite unique in that 🙂

I ended up making a clean break from Hobonichi this year too. I'm currently using the Jibun Techo Diary kit this year. It's been refreshing to just use 2 notebooks--a morning pages notebook and the jibun techo for tracking. I feel a bit more freed up. But i still definitely miss the Hobonichi. I may have no practical use for the Hobo but it's a really fun and comforting desk companion. Maybe once my habits are more concrete, I'll go back to Hobonichis in 2025.

Love your lineup!! I'm also using Midori A6 1D1P this year! Not a big fan of the new Sanzen Tomoe River paper because I use fountain pens a lot and it feels very different for me. I still have a hobo A6 and a day-free laying around just so if I want to journal on it I have one at hand. For work I use Kokuyo Jibun because I get distracted easily and really need that vertical hourly layout to remind myself how much work I've done in the past hour lol

I discovered Hobonichi and Midori at the same time, in 2020. Funny, I hadn’t looked at my Midori journals in a very long time, but literally had one in my hand when I started this video! If the 1ppd is bound the same as the notebooks, you could consider pulling out some pages to allow for the expansion that happens when we add all the things. It worked really well for me :)

Thank you for letting me know - I may need to do that if it gets too big ;)

It was best when I could look ahead and remove the center of each signature. No worry of pulling out a page that had something already on the other portion of it.

I love the midori 1page per day!!
I have a classic chic sparrow cover and an apple pig folio that I switch back & fourth… however I REALLY want an ‘apple pig style’ folio in naughty fox! 😍

So nice to see your 2024 choices….I am using the HOBONICHI A5,A6, and 5 year for different journaling such as health, reading, activity…I really like the 5 year because I enjoy looking back. I plan to use one of my TN s for water coloring and drawing. My artistic skills are not great but I hope to see progress.I enjoy putting ephemera into my A5, but it does make it tough to comfortably write towards mid- year. Trying to use more of my stickers, stamps and washi to “ decorate! Oh, and I use a Hobonichi weeks mega as my EDC. Next year, I plan to streamline!

What no hobonichi😮😮😮😮😮 ahh well what sparks you is the best decision, am excited to see how this md journal will evolve through out the year, maybe instead of cutting straight in the back cover, maybe follow the curve of the leather cover

I had to opt out of Junk Journal January this year because of my schedule. I was visiting family and knew I just wouldn't have the time :(( I hope to get my ducks in a row for Junk Journal July (lol), thank you for thinking of me!
