The oasis of Turfan is famous for its Hami Melons. , a childhood dream to visit Dzungaria & the great depression of Turfan which is a wonder of the world.. My dad brought a book in 1986 published by Readers Digest ' Guide to the Countries of the World' when I was in 6th standard where i first read about Turfan & i was fascinated by its remoteness & harshness in the middle of the Taklimakan desert . I may not have visited China & Dzungaria, but Torvashu has fulfilled my childhood dream. The Silk Road brought Buddhism from India & I was always fascinated by Ven Huien Tsang's arduous journey that the monk took from Xian ( Chan-ang ) across North Western China & into India proper via Afghanistan during the Tang Dynasty era. .. keep up the good work Torvashu Someday i want to undertake the journey Ven. Monk Huien Tsang' took in the 7th century during Emperor Harshvardhan's era to gather buddhist texts, visit buddhist sites , learn sanskrit & mahayana philosophy & establish contact with Indian xivilization & Nalanda mahavihar China's role in Dzungaria is very positive esp. the formerly buddhist uyghur people who were largely Buddhist & Tengarist were forcibly converted to Islam around the 8th to 10th century. China's occupation has brought development, women's emancipation & the restoration of rationality & liberalism amongst uyghurs who were earlier in the grip of islamists & conservative medievalists... Today women have more freedom , there is all round development & rule of law in Xinjiang.. The government of India & its leadership & agencies too should follow in China's footsteps & emulate their ideas in Kashmir , by settling hindus in large numbers , restricting the role of islam in kashmiri society & focusing on emancipation of kashmiri women & youth into integrating the kashmiris into mainstream indian society. I congratulate Torvashu on showing the true picture of China's positive role in Xinjiang despite what propoganda & lies being circulated by western media outlets about China's treatment of uyghurs..... Well done Torvashu you are the best cultural ambasdor for India in China . Keep up the good work mate ....
Things are different in both aspects. Today Central Asian women enjoy freedom mainly because of the influence of the former Soviet union and China who're atheists and given more freedom to the women. That's not the case of India in which women have less freedom compared to China.
RE your comment: "Someday i want to undertake the journey Ven. Monk Huien Tsang' took in the 7th century during Emperor Harshvardhan's era to gather buddhist texts, visit buddhist sites , learn sanskrit & mahayana philosophy & establish contact with Indian xivilization & Nalanda mahavihar " I have the same fascination about his journey. Given the lack of roads and harsh terrain, I wondered how he traveled to India and RETURNED safely.
I disagree with your seeming prejudice against the Muslims. Look around. There are many Muslim majority nations. Each is different. Not all Muslims are "conservatives". Even women in Saudi Arabia are becoming liberated. China has a high mosque to Muslim adherent ratio by global standard. That fact has not impeded progress in its Muslim region. Humans of all faiths need the same thing--peace, security, food, shelter, health care, education, and opportunity to advance. Embrace differences and gain from it.
Buddhism was also spread by force. Common people don't just adopt something new. All religions are top down. The silk-road helped spread religion through economy/pressure.
India is regarded as a backward country by Western media, which I think is biased. But Chinese literary works and movies always promote India as a beautiful country, and I hope to visit India personally one day.
Night market here is exceptional. I visited the place back in 2003, beautiful place. What surprised me was almost everyone had fiber internet connection at that time. And my phone had signal even out of town in the gobi desert
This video is misleading. Most of Uyghur children are taught in school in Bilingual mode. Many Uyghur kids are taught Uyghur language in Uyghur subject language course. Other courses subjects are taught in standard Chinese language. There are also some schools choose to taught more subject courses in Uyghur language. The government are encouraging more subjects to be taught in standard Chinese so they can benefit from speaking better standard Chinese (Putonghua) when they try to find a job but Uyghur language subject course is always available to Uyghur kids as long as they want to learn. Some Uyghur children's parents even choose to send kids to schools that teach completely in standard Chinese and might not have much Uyghur language course at all so they could learn standard Chinese language better. Note Uyghur students usually get extra credits when they apply colleges so they have more chances to be accepted than other people. I would say China's policy to minorities are very generous comparing with many other countries. China used to allow Uyghur teachers to completely teach every courses in their own language to Children. That policy has been proven to be a failed policy since Uyghur students couldn't even communicate with other Chinese when they grow up (You can see from these video that Uyghur older than 30 can hardly speak standard Chinese but youngers can). This cause miscommunication and makes Uyghur youths feel that they are not part of this country or even discriminated and started to support extremism and terrorism. I think China is on the right direction to correct this mistake and there is nothing wrong to do that.
Western world create negative sentiment regarding China and Chinese. According to them if any country don't run according to them or as per their law of rule they tagged that country as being run by dictator. But what i thinks every country cannot be run same as Europian or American democracy. And secondly Western World (USA) don't want to see anyone above them, so they apply all the tactics to put down it's rivals same what they did with Japan, it's was being believed that Japanese economy will overtake US in early 20's but suddenly their market crashed (all their money wipped out from market and the same they did with USSR and now they are trying there best to counter China). Whenever i see any Asian countries i just feels proud for Ethics, Culture , tradition and Respect for one and other. This Chinese people and their behaviour looks similar to Indian. Other than just their traditional buildings. Being a Software Developer and worked with many Western People and also fortunate enough to travel to Europe and US for working purpose i can tell you that majority of( 80+%) there people and society has become totally du°mb. Majority of them are d₹rug addicts and lost there critical and cognitive thinking and secondly most of their childrens go for Arts not for STEMs or even left their study after highschool so they don't even know simple mathematical calculations not even simple physics. With all my experience what i have learnt that there companies there management and every critical role of there country is being run by Asian population only what they did is just selling the dream to Asian country via hollywood movies protray themselves as developed or so good to live but in reality ther society is totally hollow from inside. (Sorry for my English grammar as it's not my mother language but as third language)
I don’t think so, it mentioned on his other videos as well, no uyghur language courses at school. What I know is it was the case few years ago that Uyghur kids has a choice and there is Uyghur language course, but since 2017 onwards many things has changed, most likely now no Uyghur language courses at all at all Uyghur primary and middle school.
gentleman, i admire you. i am a chinese not having been to those places..... ok, i just made decisions and I would definitely visit your country one day to know more about you with respect!
He was investigating remote areas of Xinjiang, but he was disappointed. Not only did western media and Indian media spread rumors that the Chinese government had killed millions of Uighurs, nor did he find so-called labor concentration camps or hired children to work, but the people of Xinjiang lived a happy life
they live long life bcos of safe environment , no hunger or poverty worries, no hate , . show love , gentleness , patience , courtesy to fellow human beings, healthy, leisurely and stress free living, without all the madness n rush of city life
This is a very embarrassing question, because although the population of Uighurs has increased rapidly, so far the total number is only over 10 million. As for the persecution imprisoned of millions of people said by the western media... that's ridiculous.
@@Anlan24 To increase to as many as 12m from about 3m more than 40 yrs ago is giant leap. In fact Uyghur increase rate is highest amongst all the 56 ethnic groups in China incl the majority han group.
There are several mistakes in the first 2 minutes. 1. Turpan is not North XJ, It's East XJ , which is totally different when you mentioned cultural difference. 2. 11:35 It's interesting that this Vlogger witness a Tik Tok direct sale activity. This Uyghur girl is using Tik Tok live streaming to talk to random customers lively all over the country to market their home-made products. We could see she speaks very standard Chinese like a Beijinger and she just made a deal and sold two bags of something and she is very happy. It's amazing even in rural countryside Uyghur young people know how to use Tik Tok live streaming to do direct sale to sell products to others around China to make money. Why do they want to support extremism if they could benefit from doing business with other people in this country and live a better life? Look at Paris and see how immigrant suburban youth are doing to their own country. China is doing 100 times better! It's ironic Europeans are criticize China on Xinjiang this and that when they do so poorly in their own countries. I think they should mind their own business and pay more attention to their own people and stop thinking they are superior and pointing fingers to others. BTW Direct sale through Tik Tok in China is #1 in the world due to the reason that China has the world's fastest 5G network speed which can carry live video streaming anywhere easily.
standard Chinese like Beijinger? bs, as a Chinese from hebei province, so called Beijinger Can't speak Mandarin properly, They have a strong accent. 太监腔。😂
you are wrong, Many of them are in isis organization. Turkey catch them in the middle east, and send them to China, China don't want to accept them, because they are second generation of Uyghur out of China. They don't have China citizenship.
yes Ughurs have always been moderate muslims but until extreme radicals from outside tried to influence them to be terrorists . These radicals were funded by uS/uk whose aim was to destabilise China. Luckily , only some uyghurs were radicalised n chinese govt managed to stop them n restore peace n prosperity to Xinjiang. Some radicalised uyghurs are living abroad whilst remaining radicalised uyghurs in Xinjiang get reeducation help from the chinese govt so that they can be integrated back into the communities .
China & India should settle our border disputes with a little give & take! Lets be realistic - We are not getting Aksai Chin back! & neither is China getting Arunachal Pradesh! Lets just convert the LAC into the International Border & live without interfering in each other's matters!

Gawar marathi taking about Chinese people...
The Silk Road brought Buddhism from India & I was always fascinated by Ven Huien Tsang's arduous journey that the monk took from Xian ( Chan-ang ) across North Western China & into India proper via Afghanistan during the Tang Dynasty era. .. keep up the good work Torvashu
Someday i want to undertake the journey Ven. Monk Huien Tsang' took in the 7th century during Emperor Harshvardhan's era to gather buddhist texts, visit buddhist sites , learn sanskrit & mahayana philosophy & establish contact with Indian xivilization & Nalanda mahavihar
China's role in Dzungaria is very positive esp. the formerly buddhist uyghur people who were largely Buddhist & Tengarist were forcibly converted to Islam around the 8th to 10th century.
👌👌👌
Things are different in both aspects. Today Central Asian women enjoy freedom mainly because of the influence of the former Soviet union and China who're atheists and given more freedom to the women. That's not the case of India in which women have less freedom compared to China.
RE your comment: "Someday i want to undertake the journey Ven. Monk Huien Tsang' took in the 7th century during Emperor Harshvardhan's era to gather buddhist texts, visit buddhist sites , learn sanskrit & mahayana philosophy & establish contact with Indian xivilization & Nalanda mahavihar "
I have the same fascination about his journey.

Those kids were so humble ❤
