Chandeep !!! If Microsoft PowerBI team have a chance to look at your video, then you are one of the top notch in their team !!! Similar to nifty 50 your knowledge on the PowerBI always breaches all-time high.... Happy to be your subscriber !!!
Thank you so much for the walkthrough! Gustaw Dudek's techniques are amazing and I always wonder how exactly they work. There's enough to fill a whole of course! Thank you again.
Briliant. I am wondering if this tech could be applied to bar / combo chart. I want to have bar charts have lines link the bars and the difference of the bar value in the middle.
Thank you for the useful video! Question. Can you explain the variable Period = [Period Range], it's in the SalesPoit calculation. I can't find where of the period range you have in your data model. Thank you!
Hello Chandeep, its me again. I have a question, for example instead of a month slicer can we use a marketing campaing slicer that goes from date X to date Y and just by selecting the campaign the chart should show the start and end and the respective numbers? How can i achieve that?...thanks in advance!
Has anyone figured out how to make the above horizontal slicer/selector for month constantly select the last month? I got this recreated successfully but after some time, the initially selected month lags behind.
if am interested in finding the total cumulative sales between the points i.e. (start Month - End Month) how would do that i.e. total sales between the points
Marker enabled in the chart draws a line between the two points for me, so I had to take it out. I used Sales Point as the Upper bound and Marker as the Lower bound to solve this.
How to find the difference where if we select one point in line graph and when I move my mouse over my line chart I should get change percentage from first point to mouse moved point instead of selecting the months
I tried this but can't figure out two dax calculations. Can someone provide the dax calculations for the marker and the line. It was not shown in the video.
Really great stuff Chandeep - Thanks for sharing! Just one question. In your Sales Point measure, I noticed you reference another measure [Period Range] How is this one calculated?
Again nice, but on page I have 6 Line chart, with time period 10 years, and all have same focus first date, when I select last month and 6 months befor I got info on line chart, but focus on all line chart are same first date, and selected month is out line chart and now I should all line chart with slider move to the seelcted month. How can get automatically focus on selected month and year on all line charts?
Can you please make a video on How we can connect SQL Server in Microsoft Fabric and How we can use copilot in power bi services to develop the report.
Hey, Chandeep, Another amazing lesson. Thank you. The download file had been showing as not safe by the browser security for many videos of yours. I was wondering if this is a common issue for others too and If it is, can you fix it.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. While I haven't received any similar reports from other viewers, I'll investigate the issue with the download files and see if I can fix it. And the files are safe to download :)
Amazing video Chandeep! Really really nice 1 remark and 1 question Remark 1. I recreated the chart, however I want to YoY comparison. As soon as I enter '13', the MAXX function picks sums both months (may 2022 and may 2023), giving a much higher 'line' value. This was fixed by taking a yearmonth (unique) approach, similar as your slicer. Took me a while to figure out... Question 1. What if I want to pick my comparison month also from a slicer. Would I then need a secondary disconnected date table and instead of periods use that one? What are your thoughts?
Thanks a lot and its amazing. I tried this but not getting the output. I have downloaded your PBIx file but I cannot get the same Sales Point output in my report. Can you please help me
Hello Guys, first of all thanks for the video Chandeep, amazing what you and BI capable of. I would request a little bit of help, Im stucked at creating the constant line, could someone hlep me out? Thanks, keep up the good work!
@@GoodlyChandeep The DAX reflects EOMONTH periods though? It feels like this would need to change as otherwise selecting 2 periods or so would just show over the 8 weeks
Hey this is an amazing lesson, and very well explained. But I can't think of a real-life scenario that this visual might be useful; the users I have contact with would never bother to click on a slicer to select a month and then on another slicer to select the previous periods, they would simply ignore the visual and go to a simple table where the whole info is shown. Stil, this has a great oompf! factor and makes and great first impression.

Nifty! I love the way you dismantle these issues and put them back together. Thanks!
Explanations started really well and easy to follow. However focusing a bit more on the DAX would have been great!
1:42 Its the other way around
The first two segments of line are the vertical lines and the horizontal line is the connecting line.
Loved the video!
I haven't been able to figure out how you got the slicer to only show one value at 3:50.
I believe it is a what if parameter

How would this work for by weeks? There is no EOweek function
Just add a week number column in your calendar table. Rest of the things in DAX will change accordingly.
@@GoodlyChandeep The DAX reflects EOMONTH periods though? It feels like this would need to change as otherwise selecting 2 periods or so would just show over the 8 weeks

Amazing
How can I make this work with Weeks instead of months??
You need to have a week column in the calendar table
Then alter the visual and calculation to account for the week instead of the month.
