Oh man I can't tell you enough how BIG and CHUNKY this boi is. This thing was totally worth the buy when I got it. Not to mention has a looooot of parts to go into it, especially in the side thrusters.
The GP-02A UnclePhilsalis is the greatest Zeon suit the Earth Federation ever built, and one of my personal favorites. I need to get this kit at some point.
@@santoshadi8563 we can only hope. Not sure why Bandai doesn't get their shit together. 0080 and 0083 kits need a 2.0 (atleast the Alex got one, hoping the others follow).
The weight helped, i build the MG, this one, and the MLRS type. The MLRS I have somehow are loose jointed on the left arm. The MG needs an action stand just to hold the shield, until I caved and glue all of the joints during painting. Its now a statue. The extra heavy shield really needs extra arm stiffness or locking mechanism, or else good luck holding a pose for long.
I had the old 12" Bandai action figure of this bad boy when I was a kid (before I knew anything about Gundam lore). So when I got into the anime and the models as a late teenager, one of the first ones I had to get as I collected (probably in my first 20 kits, I have well over 100 now) was the GP02. I really like this kit, though the proportions are much more squat on this kit than they are on that "transformable" 12' Bandai figure. But despite that I still adore this thing, and the new Build Divers version of it is something I got my eye on! Great review man!
Daily reminder that the GP02 does not violate the Antarctic treaty, since the treaty was signed between the Federation and the Principality of Zeon, which didn't exist anymore at the time this MS was built. Legal loopholes abuse ftw !
Quick thing to mention is there are two versions of the kit, the one Kakarot showed off here and the MMLRS version which comes with back mounted missle pods and the Mega Beam Bazooka instead of the Nuclear Bazooka. While I like the kit I found with either version the arms were loose at the shoulder to bicep peg and may need thickening. The Build Divers Re:Rise kit is laso still using the same runners with some aesthetic tweaks.
Question: MLRS comes with the bazooka on the runners regardless as spare parts despite not using it? Big fan of the model, but i'd rather go for the MLRS for extra dakka, the rocket pods look really good.
The issue's on the lack of Atomic Bazooka barrel and backpack, which is on a runner exclusive to the OG GP02. The MLRS replaced all that with two new plates to represent the new backpack and Beam Bazooka parts.
When the HGBD GP-Rase-Two-Ten was announced, I had qualms about its stability, considering it's based on an older kit. But after reviews of said kit as well as this, it's surprising that this mold is still pretty solid to this day.
Huh, this is a really neat kit! For a while I hadn't even considered it because, from what others had shown me, the articulation wasn't that great. But WOW, for such a bulky mobile suit, this thing has a lot going for it!
I love how he was talking and he hits the snag so he transitions to the technical difficulties not going to lie I love the reviews and the lore keep up the work chief.

The kit is still rather with only simple colors without painting the details especially the shield yellow vents
I ordered the Type MLRS, the one with the missile launchers on its back. Is it any different from this one or is just an upgraded version? I just saw some pics, noticed that it also has the bazooka and decided it was better cause more weapons = cooler.
The triumphant return of the error screen. I think my favorite is the Cosmic Era one with the bit tune version of Anna ni Isshodattanon. The creation of this mobile suit has got to rank very high on the list of the Federation's absolute dumbest decisions.
I really love old kits like this. In and i always like your videos because you appreciate the old kits from the looks. Yeah they may be not up to today standard, but they still cool you know. I have the MG version of this unit, it looks cool but I never move it the shield is so heavy it would pull the whole unit down. The articulation is about the same. The MG is just more massive.
I paint all the wrong colored parts instead of stickers. For painting recesses stuff I just use q tip with alcohol to rub off the paint where I slipped outside the recess.
Jeez this thing is cool! Dunno why I held off on getting one, definitely on my wishlist now!....now its just a matter of doubting wether i want the normal one or the mlrs one :)...
anyone know which was the most effective gundam among all the timelines/series? as in stuff like kill count, versatility, ease of use (for its pilot, not the average person), damage potential, stuff like that
Just as did brought up in the comment section below your previous video, there's a bigger version of this gundam model kit, and I'm sure it is more pricey but way more detailed than the gundam model kit you just reviewed.
Damn, we all need 2.0 MGs of all the Stardust Memory Gundams seen on-screen (we just got the GP04G as a RE/100 kit a few years back, so that's not in the list anymore), and seeing how a brick-like MS like the Physalis is able to move like crazy in an HGUC kit AND the fact that we are teased with a Gundam Virtue in the MG Kyrios box, Bandai Spirits should really go back to Stardust Memory again for 2.0 MGs (please no Orchis, that's overkill for price to the point where it will beat the brick that is the Deep Striker).
My problem with this model kit is the hands and storage for bazooka barrel in it shield.. I know because I have this one. The shield so heavy and the hand has no grip, peg or anything to hold it. Unless the bottom shield on the ground, the hand cant hold it up. I make flight pose with a trick: the edge of the feet must touch the bottom of the shield so it can hold it And because its only have one style hand, he cant grip the beam saber too. Unles you push up the bottom the saber handle, the saber will fall. Basically the hand is uselless. The shield storage for bazooka barrel is useless. Upper and bottom only hold a little bit, no grip whatsoever. Better put down the barrel or attached it to the bazooka main body. Other than that, its solid model kit. No loose joint whatsoever

Didn't they release a Build divers version of it? Maybe they will now do a newer revive of it, based on the BD version? Rick Dias got a BD version, followed by an updated UC version...

you might have forgot to mention with the hands your actually suppose to be able to push them in further to stabilize it helping keep the shield out and you pull it just a bit to give it the ball joint rotation
I was never a fan of this particular Gundam design it just seems too bulky for battle in terms of mobility. I just learned it’s from Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 series it looks good I’ll probably watch it.
Yes and no. This is the Gundam from 0083 with '2' in its name, but there is no gundam unit 2. The closest thing to that name is Amuro's Gundam, the RX-78-2. This one is called the GP02A "Physalis"
I wonder who's the designer of this unit, I mean... Even a people who haven't watched Stardust Memory would say "I can feel bad intension emanating from this unit... Is that an evil Gundam?" Something like that, nevertheless GP02 is beautifully designed that makes this unit memorable,
