I can't stop but see Herbie Hancock's 70's vocoder disco era look on Claudio!
Absolutely love my TR-8S, plug into a TB-3 and you can almost imagine its 1993 again.
I had the TR-8. Sold it when I got the AKAI Force. I still miss it, even though I don’t need it. Roland’s digital sounds are unsurpassed.
Yes, with TB-3 it works very well :)
Man. I can imagine playing with that for hours: Is it lunch time, yet? What? Morning already??!!
Had that same smile on my face like I was 8 yrs old when I got to jamming on my TR-6S....now I want the TR-8S eventually even though I'm still wrapping my head around the MC-101 which is another pint sized powerhouse!
Although the TR-8S is superior for live performance with its additional tracks and knobs, the TR-6S has the exact same sound and programming capabilities with just a little more menu diving. But given that it can be easily carried in a backpack and runs on batteries, I take it on flights with me and jam out making beats on the plane. Although, one time a flight attendant called the captain on me because she was afraid I was operating a bomb 🙂
probably you were working on a bomb-track ? ;)
As someone who has worked on a computer for work my whole life, and a love for the piano, I noticed my general posture is geared towards typing on a keyboard. I own both the TR-6S, and TR-8S, and the playability on the TR-6S to me is superior, actually! Think about the distance of every knob on the TR-6S. Everything is "right there", within a few inches of each other. The ability to keep your hands close and reach every feature with a finger reach, rather than an arm reach, is superior. The soft material used for the keys invites a more tactile-friendly interaction. Using the Step Loop feature with multiple fingers on the TR-6S creates great creativity potential. If they had an external input on the TR-6S, to me, it would be the ultimate device.
same psych coming from all the guys trying to sell their 6S so they can get the 8! LOL
To be fair, Roland TR series is, in fact, "da bomb"
Claudio, the TR8s is an absolute beast, unlimited possibilities. Handy tip. Use it as a daw sequencer for your percussion tracks i.e. taiko and big cinema drums then fade the hardware track into the mix for multi textured layers... audio candy 🤤
Nice vid. I just got my TR8S a couple weeks ago and had a similar reaction to the unboxing. Played around with it for a few hours straight with a huge smile on my face. This thing is awesome!
Finally got a second hand one almost a year ago, one of the best purchase I’ve ever made. Especially with recent delicious FM drums and probability update
I absolutely love the mix of legacy and innovation in this machine. Stunning sound, a true Roland. Wish I had one... this thing is so inspiring and deep.
your enthusiasm for music is so inspiring. this channel has really helped me in so many ways thanks all :)
The TR8S has been one of my best ever purchases. The workflow and limitations have made me more productive than I was on a DAW which had too many possibilities.
You had a great first jam with it 😁
Thanks for the video! Also love the production value. Great editing and props to the camera person. And the guy behind the keys ;)
The TR-8 was my first drum machine (and still the only one I have!) and love it still.
Love your videos doctor mix and the energy inspires me to make music.
Love my tr8-s. Couldn't be happier. Good video sir.
Those TR boxes are unbeatable, especially with the latest firmware.
Wish they make the drivers audio-midi class compliant someday for use with my iPad.
Rhodes goes with everything! Love it!
I have fun to see that Doc Claudio have so much fun. Awesome.
Tr-8s with samples are a absolute beast.
Love my TR-8S. Great review!
Amazing Mix as always🎉
Tr-8S is a great device, i love mine too. Again a nice clip !
Oh yeahhhh. I have a TR-8S and it's super fun, powerful and monstrous.
I love my TR-8S!!!! Glad you got one.
Woah, I have the exact same setup - TR-8s, Jupiter XM and RC-505 atop a Rhodes Mark II suitcase. Validation ;)
I’m honestly surprised a Roland TR8S video hasn’t come out before?!? Anyways, always awesome to see an unboxing and pro-level jamming with Dr. Mix.
Just got one of these and it's amazing
Beautiful Rhodes demonstration
TR8s is great, but Your skills are second to none. Thanks for a great content!
I had a choice between Drum Brute (loved it. Felt natural) Behringer RD8-9 (Looks Good But...)
I brought a Korg Volca Beats. Leaned some stuff. Then upgraded to a TR-08. OMG!
The TR-08 was the BEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE! Historically!!
AFter that I wanted more.
The 909 606 etc...
And that's when I got the TR8S.
It has everything in ONE.
Sounds AWESOME!
EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND VERY FUN TO USE.
...and all this evolution in just a few weeks 😅
I Have one too...Bloody great machine...love it.
I love the TR8S!
I put my likes on this video suddenly. Great work DoctorMix ! Well done !
I have TR-8S .. I seriously love it and use it more that the Akai MPC Live II that I also have, its my go to rhythm machine.
Wow man. I saw this video....and well had to get one. Thank you for the inspiration. Just got to learn, learn and learn much more. 🤪
The TR8-S was my second drum machine in a long time...utterly amazing value for money if you can get one in mint used condition .
So much fun to use...
The latest update made it even better! 👍
🌸 TR-808 silly. It was the mother of all drum machines back in the day. Sold mine for five grand.
I just bought THRILLER SOUND PACK for 70% off. Thank you Bro for this generous offer.
Nice stuff as always. Wonder if Cherry Audio might sponsor a segment sometime. . . Their software synths are pretty neat.
the Doctor is in the house 🎹🎹🎹
I can already see the gif heads running over to gif generator for 3:36 :D
Great stuff 🎶
This an amazing vibe tool.
that machine it's awesome. have it many tricks & tips and sound 10/10. have a sampler too
Nice Video and nice Beats!
i could listen for hours and hours❤❤❤❤
One of the best drummachines
Best drum machine out there IMHO.
I would love to see you do a house track with just the Tr 8s just by itself and explain what you are doing as you do it
Great video - just enjoyable to watch you bouncing off the drum machine's patterns.
Happy you got one too! It really is great. Btw could you possibly have a word with your contacts at Roland and ask for sample import and kit creation in the editor software? ;) it’s really all that’s missing (you can do it on the machine but it’s so cumbersome).
Love those presets man!!!
Wow, it’s really cool!
A Beast with the new Update.
Excellent Rhodes playing ! I own a few but none of them sound as good as this one.
Please share your recording signal chain!
Woow, that maschine is amazing, i want ooooneeeee 😄👏❤️
This machine is an absolute monster
Excellentissime !
Want to get one. Love the enthusiasm lol.
Straight 🔥Respect sir!
Fun to play and it's great
As soon as I saw the picture...I thought of my Roland MC-707 Groovebox......did some comparisons and am sticking with it over the TR8S. Great video though!
I like using it as a MIDI out. Been using it for years :)
Great video. I love my R-8S, it sounds fantastic. Could you tell me which bracket you use to stand it. Thanks a lot.
When you played Caravan, I hear j k Simmons yelling at the TR8S "NOT MY TEMPO"!
The latest update really upped it's game, the new engines and probability etc, also hold sample and press instrument for random hit within that range, for quick random search results, and I would add I enjoy hold pattern select and press sample and it shuffles the kit pattern rythmn and any button to return to your original rythmn, good fun for on the fly fun, enjoy
love my to and it connects to serato, got the instruments going to a model 12 multitrack life good , looking to pick up the j6 or s1.
Thanks for the video man ! What’s the microphone you are using ?
Woah just found your channel, Amazing skills man great job!
The Good Doctor!
Haha cool man 🎉 enjoy brother
Love your videos! Would love to see you take a look at ‘1999’ by the main man Prince. Keep up the quality work 👏🏻
OK, so my take away is this. Dr Mix has 808/909 and everything in between. But his talent is what really shines through. What I really want is a Roland TR-727, drop those latin beats!
greetings from gran canaria; Your channel is incredible and you help us find those sounds that so many songs remind us of.
Could you review the patterns, sounds and plugins from the Stock Aitken And Waterman factory? toms, snares and amazing sounds from an amazing time; I've been looking for these libraries for a long time.
Thank you very much again and my most sincere admiration for everything you do.
I could never dish out the cash for the physical device, when VST versions are a fraction of the price. But I realize there are many who just love the tactile experience of the buttons, faders and knobs. Claudio - your musical talent really shines through 🎉
Why hire an Orchestra when there's a Kontakt library. Why wear a wristwatch when there's a clock on the phone. It's not always about the end result is it?
I guess you don't play out very much..
I bought it, then sold it, never missed it. Doing way more complex stuff with software samplers and drum machines, TR8S, as cool as it might look on paper, it's not a time-saver at all. It is for those with a lot of free time, because anyone could do the same in a DAW in a much shorter time
@@kzm4275 Totally appreciate that view, I'm a VST/Plugin guy. I reviewed 15 drum sample players/machines in October (I own about 6). Which software dom you find best?
@@kzm4275 what about for live performance like it was designed for?
Return to the 60-70s with the Doc;)
Jeez you are always too late to ask for a thumbs up. ;) Grandissimo come sempre. E comunque il sound del Rhodes è magico e inarrivabile...
Il Rhodes e’ sempiterno. Con un po’ di 555 e un goccio di Valhalla Vintage… TAAAAAC!!!
Bro, can you bottle your enthusiasm? Great videos!
Nice! ❤️🧡💛🤍
Fantastic ✌️ 👍
Hello thank you for your presetation and jam. Completely out of topic, what is your mic/headphone?
It ended up being a showcase for the Rhodes bro. 😂 😎
I recently got the 6s. Still getting used to using it and recording into a daw isn't that seemless either but hopefully I figure it out soon :)
record the tracks live into the daw one by one. Keep the bpm the same using the tr6s.
🙏😉🖖
Very good
You are too dope on those keys.
I love my TR-8s but I really wish it had a song mode or at least better midi capability to switch between patterns so I could program it through Logic in a song. As it is you have to play it in manually switching patterns unless you just want a single set of chained patterns
@@woodyforrest313 Sure but it's very limited when you only 8 a total of 8 patterns to chain and you can only repeat them. So no repeat the first pattern for 8 bars, then do the 2nd for 4 bars etc. I suppose you could call that a song mode but not what most people would think of.
Pure Jazz, Great!
Cool, drums
Love your vids. What stand do you use for the TR8S ? Do you have a link? Is it just a standard music stand? Have you tried v3.0 ?
I've just bought it 2 weeks ago and it's absolutly fabulous ! ... but I need a half-life to use it correctly :D
Great, again. What's the vocoder's mic brand / name....?
It's a great drum machine, i wish it had generic USB drivers, but still probably my favorite drum computer!
SoHouse is my go to template, LoL
It has full USB functions incl midi and multi channel outputs to a PC or Aira device, what more do you want ?
Yeah class compliant midi and audio on all the aira kit would be nice.
@@mrdali67 i want to use it with my ipad or other devices that need generic midi, like the MC707/101 can. They have a generic and vendor mode for USB
@@isaac.anthony Well that may be an issue. Those are grey areas. However you might be able to use it together with an Apple device if you have a camera kit, which is needed with some equipment. I don’t use an iPad myself with it but eg. The Korg Kronos require it to send both midi and digital sound to an iPad. Other than the camera kit no drivers is needed, but a simple usb to Lightning/usb-c wont work.
Hi how difficult is to synchronise the tr8s with Cubase 12pro ? Can you mix them dr mix and jam it with beats layered in Cubase? Let’s see
Hi. What stand do you use for the Tr8-S? It's great!
After watching your video...I am one step away from clicking..and buying the TR8-S!
(Thank You)
Thanks!
Sooo do some synthesizer music ;)
hi, you are my lovely dr. ever .... Drrrrrr. Miiiix
I always thought that you had one in the studio already Claudio?
I thought i saw the TR-8S in your studio in previous vlogz...
Thank you !! Which vocoder are u using there ?
