Robbie! It would be fantastic to receive an application from you! Don't think we have ever seen an application with St Kilda featured! Love your adventurous stuff out West.
@@timblakemore9930 haha! Maybe one day... planning this year to get a start on my ML with a plan to doing the Mountain + Climbing Instructor course. Thanks Tim! It's just the best place on the planet (with the right weather). We got super lucky this summer... fingers crossed we get it again this summer!
Really shows the great diversity of work possible. The UK alone has a wealth of venues and surely the best trad climbing in the world! Only consider if you enjoy lifelong relationships - your clients will be the foundation and reason for your career.
the big thing for young people to understand as they consider this work is that you will need to be constantly traveling to make ends meet, unless you live in a resort area where there is 12 months a year of work. As owning a house and buying health insurance (USA) becomes more and. more expensive, this life might not afford this possibility in coming decades. I have over 47 years of guiding behind me in the US and Switzerland but I was always a full time school teacher as well. I encourage young folks in America to consider a life time of guiding but not as the primary way to earn a living. BTW...in northern New England the time of year with the most work used to be winter. Climate change has cut the winter work days back by over 60%...ice is no longer here for the season. Providing others with the experiences we do as guides is priceless...the earning a living part is a real challenge.
Brilliant wee vid! Makes me want to be a mountain guide. Bracey always says it how it is - total legend!
