Can I play with madness?
best 80's singer
@@dallexandro I so much agree . Im 55.
The best Iron Maiden for me, agresive, fast, furious, melódic and beautiful !!!
Yep !
"Killers" in my opinion, is the Iron Maiden album with more sophisticated/show off drumming. Martin Birch claims that Burr was such a heavy drummer, that he hit the drums so hard that his sound was very unique. Not ditching Nicko, but Clive has his very well earned place in the history of rock drumming!!
The number of the beast us master piece!!
I love maiden with Bruce , but i grew up with diano era .Bruce is a Amazing singer / performer / writer . But the diano era was so raw honoust heavy . I wish diano and bruce could be together on stage . But it will never happen . Diano and bruce are like the stones and the beatles . I saluut you and stay strong in these strange times .
@@martinalejandro2324 martin whats youre favourit song on number of the beast ? I know its not easy to choose . But iff you have to choose . Children off the damned is my favourit . Its hard to choose from this classic album . Just curious what youre favourit song is . Nevermind my bad english . From belgium
Agreed. Look at the Hammersmith show early with Bruce. He is a BEAST!
@@aerlial360 AMEN! or LIKEWISE!
Iron Maiden sounds so fucking awesome live!! I like these better than the studio versions!
Jack Hart their music is made for the stage ...
WrathchildNH True.
I love the old Maiden with Clive and Paul. And I do also like Bruce on the Number of the Beast Album which along with the two first of their albums are the best to me. If I have to choose it would be Paul and Clive (R.I.P) in the band. The old songs doesn´t fit Bruce, it should be Paul and vice versa. (I´ve seen Maiden twice with Bruce and I´ve seen Paul without Maiden twice). The old Maiden is more kind of raw, like a band you would listen to at a club/pub not a big arena. Love it!
and what saddens and pisses me off at the same time is how fucking underrated Clive was. Not our place here to determine who was better drummer, but imo Clive and Harris together created a very unique and powerful sound
this is not even a musicianship anymore, this is pure magic....... enjoy this band while you still can people, cause when these guys retire, the music will end up with a giant hole in its heart....... most likely, there will never be a band like Iron Maiden...... UP THE IRONS !!!!!!
don't you worry they'll be a revolution ,just you wait and see🤘🤘
before my time ends,i wish to make that dream a reality,a dream of good music finally ruling the world again, and with everyone's help that soon shall happen
there will never be a band like maiden ,but maiden will be always in are hearts, inspiring many like me to chase dreams until there true
UP THE IRONS🤘🤘
Best Maiden ever...
i feel so sad that maiden got rid of paul but at least we have his few albums that he did with maiden. he had to go though but its sad to see how he has gone downhill after his departure from Maiden. Also the picture of Steve and Paul at the beginning of Strange World how young they were its depressing that we all have to grow old 😢😢
Paul wasn't happy with the direction Iron Maiden was going, that might be why he left. I'm hoping for Iron Maiden's final album that they bring in Paul and Blaze to do some of their last songs with them for ol' times sake.
The best line up ever!
What a great concert!!!! that's Iron Maiden at its most powerful era!!!!
That was my first Iron Maiden Album in Life !!!! was 9 years old... I love this record o fucking much!!!! it is the real From Here to Eternety
A treasure to be most cherished by those fortunate enough to come into contact with it
I have this Japanese import... with bonus tracks as well.
I've been discovered that this bootleg is not the original maiden japan concert, it's another concert in Japan recorded in Nakano Sun Plaza in the same year (1981). The original concert was recorded in Kozei Nenkin Hall. In the original concert Running Free was played twice. At the beginning of this song on the EP version Paul says ''can you sing for me?'', here says ''we sing along everybody this one, come on''. This edition was released in Japan as ''promotional edition''.
+ThePowerslave6697 bro i respect you man!!!!! you knew this thing well dude!!!!!!! I only heard the EP back in 1980 so this full album is really new to me!!
Naharudin Shariff You can find the entire Maiden Japan concert searching for a bootleg called Maiden Japan Vol. 2, here you have a link (download in flac and mp3 320kbps, use the depositfiles link) vivalesbootlegs.blogspot.fr/2008/12/iron-maiden-maiden-japan-vol2-nagoya.html
i have it
ThePowerslave6697 Yep, sounded faster than Maiden Japan EP. Your comment further pointed the difference out
I love it, what a great record. Thank you for the upload. ★★★
Iron Maiden fenomenal.....
Wow ... relic, thank you !!!
Amazing.
Purgatory shows how great Paul was!! 😊 please take me away!!
So fucking awesome performance!Up the Irons!
Thanks man
Greatest Metal live ever bar none
Paul D.A.: the only true iron's singer (my opinion, of course)...
+SCARIVOLTA He is their one true singer for their first and second albums, but I'd say that the three of them have their place in IM's history.
Di Anno is here near at his master, David Coverdale.
Fken awesome !
If you play the album backwards of him talking between songs it says some crazy shit
Bons tempos
Great show but this is not Kosei Nenkin Hall. This show was the day after 5/24/81 Sun Plaza.
Where can I get these in cd or mp3?? Awesome!!!!!!!!
First of it steve Haris Bass pro
maybe come back to colombia maiden
anyone know if you can buy this vinyl? i can only find the one with 5 tracks on it
it was a fanclub only release in the early nineties, only on cd, its available on ebay every once in awhile though i havent gotten it yet
Bruce is a so better singer (so far) than Paul, but... Paul is a so better Maiden's singer than Bruce (so far) !!!
paul has a better high voice
+Phantom Dancer LMAO!
i got the first record when it came out....then killers....i think bruce is technically a better singer but i think paul had the attitude that fit maiden better...MO
Same ol arguments w the fans, its silly. Paul was great for the 2 records he was on & Bruce was even greater on all the 1980s Maiden albums. No need to compare.
@@PhantomDancer4321 Because they're songs are slower he can do that he can't do that at this pace and they don't for a reason
fucking great.
Maiden -\!!/
Paul Di Anno absolutely number one.
De acuerdo.. totalmente.
Verdadeiro Iron Maiden!!
Maiden with Clive and Paul, awesome !!!
Maiden with Adrian, Janick , Nico and Bruce is also awesome. The Maiden founder Steve knows what is awesome or not.
Hell Yes!!
@@MK-so2eo Di Anno should never leave a band. He was a Maiden man.
@@MK-so2eo, I agree with everything, except the Janick Gers part.
The first two albums are the best too
How does this have only 8,000 views for one of the greatest metal bands of all time. People who don't know Paul Dianno with Maiden need to recognize where it all started. Paul was the man back in the day.
I think the problem is that, unless you were around at the time (like I was), the newer fans don't even know Maiden Japan exists! It isn't listed on their releases on AllMusic.com and I don't even think Maiden Japan even exists on CD (someone correct me if I'm wrong - also let me know where you could get it!)
Brian Sauer The 5 track EP was official ,The full Album is available as a bootleg only on vinyl and CD, I had it on Picture disc years ago.
Paul, Clive Burr, dennis stratton..... have a lot of unrecognize :/
J Vitor Garcia Given that this is a Killers tour, I am sure Adrian Smith is on guitar, Stratton had gone.
Smith joined Maiden in December 1980, did a few shows to wrap up the year & recorded Killers with them in early 81. I know Adrian later said it wasn't until the writing for Number of the Beast (early 82) that he really felt part of the band & they started letting him add input into the song writing process.
PAUL DI ANNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PAUL DI'ANNO !!!!!!!!!!! :D
Di Anno is Maiden
I guess Metallica loved Maiden so much that James ripped all the YE-HEAHS from Paul lol
dianno was the best, i love early maiden.
R.I.P. Clive! Best version of Another life I've ever heard! UP THE IRONS!
+Jim Adams Have you checked out "Iron Maiden 1980" at the Ruskin Arms I think? You'll se Clive in action!
+Juan Taréis Yes I have a copy on DVD, before that I had a copy on VHS, before than I had a copy on vinyl. One of my favorites! Great band!
+Jim Adams Good man! I must say that I'm one of those who enjoys every single era, the first songs, the classic Number, Piece, Powerslave (I like Somewhere in time and Seventh, but not fond of those mega chorused guitars)... even the Blaze Bailey era had good songs.. As long as Harris and Davey are there, the music has always been good... But perhaps I agree with Steve Harris and "Piece of Mind" is quite special for me... The last "Book of Souls" have a lot of "winks" to past eras, specially 1984-1992, but "Red and White" reminds me of Gengis Khan at times!
Paul DI ANNO was more into punk. Steve Harris ain't realizing even today what a truly unique sound they've lost when Paul got booted out - Iron Maiden was heavy metal-hard rock-punk rock fusion - way ahead of time! With Bruce, it's only heavy metal left.
im sure he knows, but unfortunately this is problsbly what he wanted form his band rather than the sound they had with dianno
Actually, this gig is 24 may 1981, originally Broadcasted on a Japaneese Radio station. This concert is not the source they made the Maiden Japan ep from. The last track, i've got the fire, has been added to this bootleg, but has been recorded at the marquee club, london 3 april 1980 with Dennis Straton on guitars. On this tour, Iron Maiden did not, to my knowledge, play this song as an encore. The song played as an encore on this Japaneese tour was Prowler. Anyway, thanks for uploading it, and the video work, this is, indeed, a killer concert !
Is the full show for the 23rd available anywhere? I have the 24th on cd and of course it’s available all over RUclips.
Clive Burr is the greatest heavy metal / rock drummer you will ever hear.
Exactly, my friend.
Nico McBrain is not a better drummer than Clive Burr.
Clive was rhythmic, precise, better.
My opinion...
+Necrophonica - Der Mattes - eh, you probably dont know much about drums
L.O.L.
Max Durk Eh, can you read ? Read my last sentence...
Clive was the best. Les Binks was very good too but Clive had something special about him
Simply the best Maiden live recording...e-v-e-r!!
THE TRUTH.
Beast over Hammersmith is a killer one too
DiAnno was ideal for their style then...
I cant believe this!!!!!!! I heard this in 1980 when I was 12 yo. and this in 2015 and Maiden sounds as awesome as ever!!!!!!!! Up the Irons!!!
Naharudin Shariff spot on. We are the same age, I only had the ep of this though. Great to hear all of the gig !
...Paul DI ANNO the GOD of N.W.O.B.H.M.....FOREVER!!!!!!
.......sorry...i think so.....
Paul Di Anno
Listen to those drums, purgatory, phantom of the opera stand out for me but there all awesome Clives drumming is immense and I like Nikos drumming style just when you listen to Clives drumming its such a powerful feeling, Paul owns these songs from the 1st 2 albums nobody can sing them like him, but I'm so glad we had the opportunity to hear all 3 of maidens singers and I think there all as good as each other and preform there own maidens songs very well, true I would of loved to here a third album from Paul and Blaze but im glad we had the chance to here them all plus Blaze wouldn't of graced us with his solo work which if you haven't heard educate yourself start with silicon messiah (1st album) and work your way up good stuff UP STEVE DAVE ADRIAN JANICK NIKO CLIVE PAUL BLAZE BRUCE. AND MAINLY UP THE IRONS
danny boyd I totally agree, love them all! Can't stand the hate against Blaze and Janick... Oh and you forgot Dennis Stratton, great contribution on the Soundhouse Tapes and the first album! Up the irons!
Blaze was kind of a return to the working class "street sounding" vocals that Steve was also fond of since he was fed up with Bruce. I'm sure the strength of the first Wolfsbane album alone influenced his decision to recruit Blaze, even if Blaze didn't always fit in well.
O i wish they could play purgatory live again. Its such a fucking great song
my favorite song off Killers!
+Larry Rodriquez and my favorite is Genghis Khan
+kasia kowalska Me too ...
Always thought it's makea perfect Metallica cover.
Viktor Ingårda with Nicko playing the drums in slow motion and stilll out or time? No way... prefer listening memories from Clive here
Mixing the speed of punk and the tecnique of heavy
Strange World 36:38
Transylvania 59:56
Good god all these fucking comments are nothing but Bruce vs. Paul. And the sad part its only on Paul recordings. Iron Maiden is Iron Maiden and their music is legendary no matter what line up. Discuss the damn music.
The best Iron Maiden, power and melody together
the strange world performance was fucking butiful man
imperator Sklek Hrkljuš NOP... the first solo, isn't good... only the dennis straton's solo is the best for this song... Adrian Smith is no good for this solo...
stratton was brilliant!!
I don't often listen to Maiden, but when I do it's the Di anno stuff.. Always!
HELL YEAHHHHHHH
I love Di anno but BRUCE IS THE KING!
i prefer Di Anno with maiden τοο. I just cant stand Dickinson's voice for much time. He is always singing like his about to choke, that bothers me. In studio albums he is ok, but live, he never could finish a fucking show witout singing as if someone was choking him hahaha
yeah dickinson always sings like hes trying to hit ridiculous high notes he cant reach, hes very over the top and trys to i think, steal the shows a lot. Pauls brilliant, really flows so nice
both good. bruce might have more skill, but di anno sounds more like a guy who can kick your ass. killers rules!
I love the voice of Bruce Dickinson, but Paul di Anno was fantastic in the first two albums and in this live album. Wonderful the Maiden, an unstoppable war machine
This is Iron Maiden in their prime. First 3 albums are their best.
First 4!! Piece of Mind is a bad ass album!!!
long live Clive!
running free! Fastest version ever!
this album was my first album bought in my life, at 11 years old
1982
+Rejean Bouchard isn't this from 81?
Rusty Kuntz he means he bought it in 1982.
I never even knew a full copy of this concert existed! I've had Maiden Japan on cassette and album since around '83 and thought only the 5 song EP existed! Thanks Much for posting this! Running Free on Maiden Japan is my favorite version of this tune! Faster than the studio version and way better than Dickinsons version on Live After Death (which, btw was my first concert at 16 years old in Toronto with Twisted Sister!). Blew me away!
Brian Sauer this is a radio broadcast recording made the the night after the Maiden Japan EP concert
I am also remembering the songs from my very worn tape and loving the other songs. I am also appreciating how tired Paul sounds, he sounds like empty like something he was searching for wasn't there. I can hear disillusionment in his growl, it is more defiance than challenge.
This isn't actually the Nagoya performance. Four tracks from that performance were featured on the official 'Maiden Japan' EP that Iron Maiden released in September 1981 (five tracks on the Canadian release) and a quick comparison with them here ruclips.net/video/JmM9YgO4jcM/видео.html shows that these are different performances. The performance here comes from the 2002 Japanese Fan Club single full-length CD release (also called "Maiden Japan" - which is perhaps the cause for the mix up). I have that CD in my possession and it states that it's recorded at Sun Plaza, Tokyo on 24th May 1981. You can see images of the CD here www.discogs.com/Iron-Maiden-Maiden-Japan/master/1176423 (the date's on the last image - on the back of the obi strip)
Anyway, pedantry aside this has to be one of the most intense Maiden performances I've heard. From an era when live performances had to be faster and louder Maiden always upped their ante when playing live. I love the video that you've done for this God Steve Harris, and the audio quality is excellent. Much appreciated. Up the Irons!
clive would have been 60 if he was alive today r.i.p
swedish ghostbuster RIP
swedish ghostbuster R.i.p Clive
I grew up on 80s Dickinson-era Maiden. I recall being shocked - and disappointed - upon first hearing the Di'Anno albums in 1984. I just couldn't get into the voice, at least compared to Bruce's. and the "less epic", "less polished" vibe wasn't expected. But over time, their greatness - and Paul's - became apparent. Today, almost 40 years later, and the Di'Anno albums have aged better than any other Maiden, IMO. "Purgatory" is a fantastic song that distills everything that is great about Maiden into a tight, concise fireball of an anthem. A pure metal classic. And the "Killers" album may just be their best, perhaps falling only to "Somewhere in Time" (which is a slice of god, IMO).
Early Maiden at it's best.
And that folks is how you beat the crap out a P-Bass! Klackity-klacity-klack! Love it!
Time to put a fresh set of strings on my bass :-)
Think this was originally released exclusively to the Maiden fan club in the 90's on cd. Not the original recordings used for the Maiden Japan ep though, not sure, but if I recall that show was the night after. Awesome live album though this. Wish they would release it on vinyl. PS 'I've Got The Fire' was from another venue.
The real Iron Maiden NWOBHM
Man, I sure love Bruce, but damn this shit was perfect. I also think that with Paul they might have had a chance to enter more into the Thrash Metal realm. Of course, it would depend on Steve. Thanks for posting this bro!! This takes me back to my freshman year in High School, after I bought the Killers album. I used to ditch school and get high with a few of my bro's while listening to Killers on my Boom Box.
This video is outstanding. The best lineup ever in a hard rock band, playing one of their best concerts ever.
Can't get enough of this version of Phantom of the Opera!
What a true gem "Strange World" live is. I was blessed to be able to see this tour. This is the greastest Maiden show ever!
Thanks bro! Love it!
David Morgan Thank you :) Up the Irons!
YOU FUCKEN BITCH
FUCK OFF YOU BITCH
I remember as a young man this album was hard to find, limited pressings sent to the island i grew up on...
Love how Eddie's sword is kind of a cool katana-rapier hybrid :D
Maiden's best live album, even if it's a fan club only release (though the ep version wasn't)
This is from the night after the ep recording
Melhor fase e formação da banda ! Pena q n tenha imagens desse show !
Bollocks, this has to be the best Maiden live I've ever heard, better than Live After Death that's for sure
please, take me away, take me away, so far away
Remember tomorrow one of the greatest band's song
This Maiden lineup was the best lineup!
Can you imagine THIS Maiden line-up recording, "The Number of The Beast?"
It would sound bad...
no
Kitomir eat shit
Every time I listen to Bruce sing, I think about how the song would sound with Paul on lead vocals. I really wish Paul had stayed in the band for the rest of the 80s. It is tragic that he wasn't.
Clive burr had groove swing and a great feel. An Dianno was a great singer who didn't look after himself because he was rock n roll and not freakin athlete.
I love Bruce but the revisionist history, even Steve Harris does now about Paul leaving is baloney. Paul had a great voice, screaming & singing and had great stage presence too. Number of the Beast I truly believe and onward Maiden records would have been just as big with DiAnno on vocals. He has gotten a raw deal over they years.
Paul was great. No idea whether his being kicked out of the band was fair or not, but NotB is Bruce's album. No way Paul could sing Children, NotB or Hallowed even remotely as convincingly as Bruce. And let's not even talk about the later, even more operatic records, which were clearly written for Bruce. Alexander the Great with Paul on vocals? Yeah ok...
If Maiden had continued on with Paul, those records would never have been composed. Would they have made other great music? Probably... or maybe they would have quickly stalled. No one knows, this is all speculation. But saying later records would have just as good with Paul is mindless fanboy talk IMO.
This was my first Maiden álbum. 1985. Fantastic.
What a fucking great upload! TY brother, great sound here & they played basically every song they had at that point. Most maiden live from the Paul years are 7, 8, maybe 10 songs tops.
I've been listening to Iron Maiden for most of my life. I've never heard a better show than this. Clive Burr is so good here it's hard to believe
Holy Crap!! This is Maiden at their best. I love the early Bruce stuff just as much, but this is hard to beat. They are absolutely brutal in this concert.
The older I get, the more I like the first two albums, I've always liked them, but I listen to them a lot more often than I used to do, there is some brilliant very heavy(for the time) songs.
Killers is possibly the greatest Maiden album of all time. If not, it’s easily top 5.
Who the fuck are the 27 ppl to dislike this masterpiece? oh i see......... Nicko Mcbrain and his folks from RnR Ribs in LA
