  • How To Add POSTS To Menu In WordPress (Blog Posts)
    Learn how to add blog posts to your menu in WordPress step by step.
    Adding posts to a menu in WordPress is a quick and easy process. To start, from the WordPress dashboard find the appearance tab in the left-side menu. Hover over it and click Menus. Where you see select a menu to edit you can select the menu you want to add the blog post to in the menu of your WordPress site. If you only have one menu created in WordPress you won't have the option to select any menus. Over to the left if you don't see posts where you can add it to the menu go up to the top and find screen options and click it. From the dropdown, you'll see Posts and it is un-selected if Posts weren't showing on the left. Select it. You'll now see Posts showing in the left to add to the menu. Select a Post you want to add to the menu and click add to menu. The blog post you selected will be added to the bottom of the menu. Select it and drag it up or down to move it to where you want it. Click Posts. You can change the name of it under Navigation Label. When you are finished click save menu. Scroll up to the top left and hover over your site title name. Click visit site. You'll now see the blog post in the menu of your WordPress site.
    That is how to add posts to menu in WordPress.

    I have 4 posts and want them to load under the blogs menu but I am unable to link them how do I do this?

      Greetings! Want to make sure I understand. When you hover over blog you want the 4 posts to show up in a dropdown? If so, add the posts to the menu. Drag them up under blog and on hover drag them to the right. They should go into place a bit to the right and not directly underneath blog. This will allow you to show the posts under blog when you hover over it. If you meant something different let me know!

    interesting video but what if you don't want a specific blog post on the menu bar. What I want is just "Posts" and then when you click Posts, you get to see all the individual blog posts. I have Astra and it won't let me.

      Greetings! From the WordPress dashboard, hover over the Appearance tab and go to the Menus section in WordPress. Next, go to Custom Links. Link Text put in Posts. For the link URL put in the URL of your blog posts page that has all your blog posts. Click Save Menu and it'll be implemented.

      Take a look at Category Posts in Custom Menu. It's a plugin that automatically adds the posts themselves to your menu.

    It's only show me the selected post what ot do if i want a menu to show all my post

      Greetings! To do this, you could create a page for all your blog posts to show on. Like a page named Blog with all the blog posts listed. Another way is having your category pages for blog posts in the menu where they can click on certain categories that go to all the blog posts of that category.

    Hey, i don't get the 'Menus' option in appearance. The only options I get are 'Themes' and 'Editor'. Is it because I'm using the free version?

      Greetings! More than likely it's the Theme. If you are using the default WordPress theme you would not have the Menus option. If you choose a previous year Wordpress default theme or different one the Menus option should appear. Or with any other Themes.

    This isn't what I was looking for. I was looking for how to include a blog or article on a drop-down option. For example, if I have a political blog/article and I hit the drop down for "Politics," I want to be taken to a new page that shows all of the "Politics" blogs and/or articles.

    • @wpcupidblog
      @wpcupidblog  3 месяца назад +1

      Greetings! In this example, you can have Politics go to the category page for Politics where it will show all the articles written about Politics. To do this, you can click Categories where you can edit the menu. Select Politics and you can move it to where you'd like. This will now link out Politics to all your Politics articles. To access the Category page of Politics via URL and to create a Custom URL here's how to do this. Go to the WordPress dashboard. Hover over Posts and Click Categories. Choose the Category you like. For this example, go to Politics and hover over it. You'll see View. Click this. Copy the URL for the category page of Politics. Go to where you can edit the menu. Select Custom URL and paste in the URL. Drag it to where you'd like it.
