I picked mine up at In the Toyzone a few days ago. Good convention, great figure. The back/backpack is a bit finnicky to transform back, yes, but imo this is the best Metalhawk figure we've gotten so far. I mean, I like my Titans Return version well enough, gold paint and all... But this is closer to the show.
I have that Cyclonus, and you're right; he IS the GOAT. I liked your review of Metalhawk and I ordered him off Amazon just now. Thanks for being my enabler. LOL!
That's tuff choosing just one. I already have the original mold, but I also want metal hawk too. Although I will agree that removing the landing gear was a bummer. It would make it better.😮
Waiting for mine to arrive next week in the mail. I really like the look of Metal Hawk. I just wish we could've gotten Legacy Blood in Voyager class as well. I really hope they do Gilmmer in Voyager though
It doesn't seems as good quality as Legacy Galvatron or Legacy Lio Convoy whose textures, colors and thickness of the plastics used are a few step above Titans return or even Siege figures. Beside i'm not happy with lacking fitures for budget reasons and high price at the same time.
this figure looks like it was dropped into three separate paint cans. it really hurts to look at with too many colors competing for attention and a disturbing lack of balance to tie it together.
i absolutely adore mine but i unfortunately broke mine when tabbing in the chest, since the chin got caught in it and i thought it was the shoulders tabbing in, so i forces it and half of his face just snapped clean off. i ordered another one but now i gotta be really careful transforming him since i’m scared of it happening again :(

I can see they didn't want to make it one color but I agree that the Grey is too out of place. A different shade of blue would have worked better

The yellow is the same color as it is in the anime. A different shade or gold may have looked better but it would have been inaccurate.
Goat means greatest of all time so yeah I think you used it right

That is a huge retooling. Almost completely different figures, but they also share some similarities.

Did they retool it enough so that it’s different from cyclonus?
I mean, the only identical segments are the shoulder and thighs from what I’ve seen.

The panel with the arms rotating 180° reminds me of siege/earthrise Megatron.

You don't know how molds work. You can't mix and match molding parts that are on the same sprew in the factory.
