Always love seeing the blastoise errors! There’s also the black dot error on the illustration border. The rarest one to my knowledge seems to be the Illus. Missing error
man I miss videos like these! wasn't that long ago when you were banging out a few of these videos a week, and I always had a something to look forward to when I got home from work. the good ol' days
Awesome video! This one took me back to when I first started watching your channel years ago when it was almost all pack openings! The only thing missing was the scissors! Keep up the great work!
It would be cool if mapping could be figured out like it is for MTG but given the much lower amount of holos compared to like A/B rares having several on each sheet makes it much tougher I would imagine.
Super awesome video!! Rusty, what are those sleeves you’re putting the holo’s in. I’ve been trying to figure out the name of them to purchase some for awhile now!
Out of the 40,000 or so boosters I’ve opened, approximately 77.9% Zards are from Venasaur packs. It’s a thing. That’s including my FE Zard I opened at age 11, lol.
@@BadDubIII don’t believe it, but, you never know I guess. That’s over 1000 booster boxes, and is he saying base set? Opening 1000 bas set booster boxes would be next to impossible unless this mfer is filthy rich and loves flushing money.
@@BadDubII Of Base (between FE/Shadowless/Unlimited/1999-2000 (UK) print runs) yep. I’m sure that is bonkers to you and anyone that read it; but there’s a fairly logical reason how that occurred for me. You know how all the Poketubers are doing box breaks and just ripping the hell out of all these packs? You could say that I was kind of a prototype of that. I was part of a group of people (more of a helper since I was only 11 when that venture started) that basically distributed TONS (I have seen airplane hangers filled to the brim with FE Base Set booster boxes, haha) of the games/TCG/Bootleg recordings of the anime to countries/provinces/places that didn’t get as lucky as everyone else and have local sellers. This dude my mom was dating at the time could see the value/promise of what Pokemon was bringing to the world and literally purchased over $5 MILLION dollars from everyone and their mom, including directly from WOTC. All of it would be loaded up onto planes/boats/cars and we would travel to many many places that didn’t have easy access to purchasing them (this is before prime internet/shopping as well). We would set up places like gyms at schools and such so people could come and purchase products. Where I came in specifically was opening packs and being a “trade master”. I would have multiple binders full of just individual holos, even had 2 binders full of Zards (FE too) that I would fill from the packs I would open so people could come to initiate trades through battle wins/even(ish) trade/outright purchase singles. I loved it though obviously but the adults were not going to be bothered doing that kind of menial work, haha. He knew back then that Japan was about to seriously dominate with so many different IP (Hello Kitty is another prime example); so he wanted to take advantage of that for financial gain but also just to bring the products to less fortunate places. I’m always thankful to know that I had some small part to play in bringing Pokemon to the world. Kind of like evangelists I suppose, lol. Funny enough, that’s also what the other mission was, literally joint operations spreading the good book. We were one of the few church’s back then that wasn’t spouting that Pokemon is the devil. Thankfully we had congregation/organization that could reason with their own sanity in how stupid that calling Pokemon evil was. Ooof shivers just thinking about that era, lol. Crazy I know, but I’ve had a fairly crazy life actually; and being a Christian/Pokemon Evangelist is one of the less crazy things I’ve done and/or been a part of, haha. Hope that helped in some way!
@@yahyeet819 I replied to that initial message about 40k packs, if you’re interested how I touched that much volume, lol. It’s fine if it’s crazy to y’all, I just think it’s neat to reminisce on (especially since I got to spend a lot of time with my mom before she passed a few years later).
The way you are inserting the cards into the cardsavers seems a bit risky. You are bending the cards as you push it in. Sometimes this may damage the card. No hate or malice from me here, but given how many high end cards you are handling, I would recommend watching a video on how to insert cards into cardsavers.
Probably doesn’t matter because it was 6 months ago, but rusty is a legend! Only other person I’d consider opening my packs than this guy, would be pokerev
you to old to be having your mom walk in you gotta lock doors n things ..thats crazy haha then again it would be old basement men that still treated like kids ;( you gotta move out brother ! show her your a man ! not a boy that only like cards :*(
Holy smokes Josh! We thank you for letting us live vicariously through your pulls :) here's to you getting multiple Hits!!🎉
I thought his name was Rusty lol
the guy who bought all the packs i believe he's referring too. that's a lot of cash. assuming theyre several hundred each at least? x17@@gregking7215
Only the GOAT can willy nilly open 17 heavy base set packs on a Thursday and show little emotion.

17 base set packs is crazy. GL!
Awesome pulls! Congratulations, Josh! And thank you, Rusty, you are the Gem Mint of Pokemon Trainers!
Good luck with the pack grades. Would be nice if we ever found out what they look for on those lol.
Awesome to watch. Thanks to the buyer for allowing it to be shared.
Dang what a nostalgia trip, that art work will always bring me back
Glad to see the big three got pulled. My favorite of course got pulled last. didn’t think it was gonna happen with seeing the duplicates
8:56 Zapdos! :) 11:13 next!! 16:24 last one :)

What is the heavy weight of these long crimp packs?
last pack magic lives on in this video
You have the best pack channel man. Insane that this doesnt have more views
The hits were insane. Love seeing vintage being opened. Great video keep up the great content
Where do you store your semi rigids? In a case? I'm asking because I dont know where to store them I can't find any suitable storage
Never get tired of base set openings. You deserve way more subs.
Wondering where those went on the website! lol awesome thanks for sharing
So lucky to get to open those. Cheers for buying them Josh
Hey Rusty is the holo pattern from base set the same as legendary collection?
Yes
@@TCA_Gamingthank you i struggled to find an answer online
Didnt watch the whole video but i saw in the comments an error blastoise was pulled I cant wait until that part comes on. One of my favorite pokemon

So many different print runs too
That was the best way to end it, with an error red dot blastoise
I would love one of those Ninetails!!!
Super awesome video!! Rusty, what are those sleeves you’re putting the holo’s in. I’ve been trying to figure out the name of them to purchase some for awhile now!
penny sleeve inside of a semi-rigid
Rusty you the best broski, also can't hear the dogs barking lol
do you know the weight of the big three hitters?
Congrats on all the pulls josh! 🎉
This is special 🔥🔥❤️🔥
Wow can you imagine opening base set. Now imagine opening base set knowing every pack is gonna have a holo. 🤯 🎥 🍿
Incredible to watch 17 heavy base set packs being casually opened in 2024. Great video. Cheers to the buyer.
Thank you for sharing this experience with us! 💪🏼 Rusty, you are a true boss man

Thanks Josh that was awesome!
Dam he probably had to take out a second mortgage
Solid uncommon section in that first pack.
I think you are going to pull a blastoise
Awesome pulls!!
I think that went pretty good
No way , hitting all the big 3 is crazy . How much were the packs ?
$750
Always fun to watch
Nm I can hear it haha. Woo first hit!
Crazy pulls unreal!
Im happy i got some before Josh 😂😂
Josh spent 13k on the 17 heavy base set! 😱
And guess how much money he lost on them too
Thats incredible 😮
Amazing, thanks for sharing!!
Damn what a baller. So glad he got all the big hits, congrats!
Absolute legend🙌
Awesomeness!!
What an epic video holy
This is awesome!
Did I miss something? When did Rusty switch to grading with CGC, what happened to PSA?
Love the content as always and thanks Josh
I still do both, but more CGC with the current rates and customer service
Cgc grades easier. Easy to get a 10. I’ve converted at least 7 psa 8 to cgc 10’s
Reaction for pulling charizard is underwhelming
Why is that?
@@TCA_Gaming idk, if i pulled a base set charizard i would have a big reaction but thats maybe cuz i dont have alot of big cards
Pack 11 is an error ninetails 💰💰💰
Damn 17 packs sheesh!!🎉
Amazing
How much is one of those packs?
$750
Epic 💯
Liked, subscribed, and watched twice.
Awesome
How much were these packs?
$750
Fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥

It wont, kind of like the gloves vs no gloves argument. Semi Rigids are great for protection though
get em tca
Just open one bro is fire
This is fun!
Zard!!!!
How many holos did he pull? I fell asleep listening to you man. Common show some energy!
17 Heavy
Why cgc? As i understand its the worst one
CGC is the bomb dude.
@@tsgthesleepinggiant maybe I'm thinking of something else.
Dont believe the haters.
Crazy how he had so many holos compared to other people that opened theses
These were heavy packs
wooow
Jeeeeeeeeezzzzzz🎉🎉🎉
That was an extremely unenthusiastic way of ripping sick cards lmao
Have you ever graded any 10's? The way you open the packs, and sleeve them is very careless. Me personally wouldn't let you open my packs for me.
