*round of applause for Adriana* See you in the ToC!
After a long hsrd day at work, I love playing a nice relaxing game of Axe.
She was off her game today.

You can play an "axe" (aka a guitar)
Ace throwing, possibly. And not sure how many people come from “a long hard day at work” and play polo either.

Cris Pannullo - 21 games ($748,286)
Ray Lalonde - 13 games ($386,400)
Adriana Harmeyer - 15 games ($349,600)
Thanks for the list! And, I’m glad she didn’t pass Ryan Long.
Just a reminder of how insane James' run was. Not quite half the games of Ken but almost overtook him on money. Might've only been a game or two from overtaking Ken considering how much he won in some games. Meanwhile, Matt did reach just over half of Ken's game total but was still a ways off in money. And we see how he did in Jeopardy Masters this year compared to James.
Sort them by their winnings would help.
Thank you for sharing your list of super champions. By the way, are they listed in chronological order?
@@pytube777It’s not about how much money, it’s about how long a person will last before s/he gets ware out & after 74 games for Mr. Ken he just got tired & hand over reign to Nancy Zerg. People will often get distracted for whatever reason, it’s all part of gambling.
What a wonderful run by Adriana Harmeyer! We hope she can become a future "Jeopardy!" Master.
Sad to see Adriana go, but I am even HAPPIER that a survivor Alumni is now a Jeopardy champion! Congrats Drew!
Same!! Congratulations to Drew Basile! After a lot of challengers were so close to taking down Adriana Harmeyer but failed to do so, Drew Basile was able to do so thanks to a gutsy $10,000 daily double that paid off. It was a bold choice that deserved respect.
Gonna Miss Adriana😢?
@@manodakshin6020only way Drew could’ve won is with the $10K bet. Can’t slay the Champ without going all in.
@@pytube777mathematically speaking, $8,000 would’ve also worked for the Daily Double bet. But I agree, $10,000 was a better choice
@@manodakshin6020Absolutely. I definitely wish more contestants when playing against super streakers would make bold moves like that. They need to understand that it's the only way to topple them!

Congratulations (🎊) Adriana Harmeyer we'll be seeing you again in the Tournament of Champions (🏆) (👏) (😊)
Great job Adriana....great job!!!!
Great run, Adriana. This Iowan is proud of your great showing.
Hated to see her get beat...she was a great competitor!
It was inevitable though. Everyone on Jeopardy eventually loses regardless of how good they are. She'll be back in the TOC anyway :)
Me too. She was my favorite winner since Javaria and Troy
Not a tough question. But harder than the one about "farthest south two-name state".
I know! After getting routinely killed by these amazing contestants during the Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy I seem to be getting Final Jeopardy answers over the champs! Those two above easy ones and the dog from Coco! lol
Adriana has had a great run! But sadly, she has now been defeated. When I used to be soooo obsessed with Jeopardy growing up, I felt devestated to see a great champ lose.
good run adriana 👏
What an impressive run by Adriana, an impressive win by Drew, and frankly an impressive second-place showing by Tekla!
Drew will conquer every competition TV show
Oh this was pretty easy!
Everyone should get this one.
Can't believe I got this one over Adriana.
I can't believe I actually got that one, but maybe it's because I'm old... 😎
Maybe - but the champs routinely pick off questions about things that happened 100 years ago!
What is “Flop Sweat”? 1:22
Sweating profusely when you’re nervous.
@@pytube777 Thanks. Is that one of those new buzz word/phrases? Like all these new Gen Z words that come out every year? Like “ris”, and I can’t think of the other ones that make me puke.
Or is that phrase been around for a while? and I’m just too old.
@@MikeCee7 here’s a more formal definition. The term originated in the 1920s and is often associated with performers who experience anxiety and stress before or during a performance, leading to excessive sweating
• It's a very human reaction to high-
pressure situations where there's a lot at stake, like giving a big presentation or performing live on stage
@@pytube777 Thanks for that info. So apparently, I’m first learning/hearing of this phrase, a 100 years after it came out.🥲

I guessed Viola. Thought it had to be an instrument.
Is there a brand called Viola?
Why did you think Viola? Why not guitar, drums or kazoo for that matter?
What would it smell like? The inside of an H&R Block office, or perhaps a FedEx van.
Easy, I knew it , better smelling then ax
1:06 You know, I have some Polo shirts and the shorts and the times that my parents and I go there to get my new shirts or one of my parents get his or her clothing.
Why was this so easy for me? I even knew the company that released ir!
Adriana Harmeyer would’ve tied Ryan Long in terms of number of wins in regular play if she didn’t have the misfortune of going against Survivor contestant Drew Basile. Congrats to the new champion Drew nevertheless.
On the bright side, it’s not a goodbye for Adriana, we’ll be seeing the 15-day champion later in the next Tournament of Champions.
Was Ryan Long, the Uber driver from Philadelphia? If so, I liked that guy. But how come I never saw him on the tournament of champions? (I don’t watch every day, so if he was on, I missed it)
@@MikeCee7yes, he was. Ryan got eliminated in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Tournament of Champions.
@@manodakshin6020 Thanks for your reply. But so many times when I turn on Jeopardy, and they have some sort of tournament of past champions. (I don’t know what the official names of these different tournaments of past winners are called) I only see James, Amy, Matt, the girl from Canada, & the older guy. I only see those 5. How come Ryan is never invited in those tournaments?
@@MikeCee7Ryan had the weakest statistics out of all the superchampions. In other words, Ryan was the only champion with 15+ wins to win below $300K in total winnings (excluding consolation prizes).
@@manodakshin6020 So that’s why he was not invited? Because he didn’t go “all in” like James on every game. Ryan was my favorite, he wasn’t cocky nor conceded nor smug, like (I won’t mention who I think were) and he was an Uber driver, barely making ends meet before he got on Jeopardy.
He must’ve said or did something that pissed off the producers.
You know, we *_could_* use a Jeopardy! cologne. I can just hear it now:
[whispered] Calvin Klein's Jeopardy! (Of course, Johnny Gilbert would have to do the commercials.... 🤣🤣)
Farewell, Adriana. It was a good run, and you were incredible. See you in next year's Tournament of Champions!

Jeopardy cologne 😂
Adriana wells see you at tournament of champions,🎉
wonder if a double-digit champion has ever been dethroned by someone who missed FJ. Especially such an easy one.
To be fair I don't necessarily think Drew really tried the question. Given his extremely tiny wager and his joke response, I think he was just trying to end his first day on a humorous note.
She panicked when her opponents started getting all the Daily Doubles and after that she just started guessing wrong answers. I can’t believe she missed Polo. i got it instantly. What other cologne has a logo of a sport being played in it. That’s one of the easiest FJ ever! She would have lost anyway.
You're so smart! You should become a contestant!
In addition, why can't outgoing champions leave with only the money they accumulated while they were on the show without a consolation prize????
I’d be surprised if Drew has more than a 3-4 game streak…he got lucky with that daily double, I think he’ll slip up more frequently though.
Betting big in daily double is the only way to beat Adriana. Other past contestants played it too safe by betting $1K or $2K. You need to go into Final jeopardy with a lead that can’t be caught to beat a 15day champion.
I could see 5 wins being possible for Drew. He won't be a historically great champion or anything like that, but I certainly wouldn't underestimate his TOC potential.
Damn she lost because I missed it, which is why I'm here. I knew it. My bad yall
Congratulations drew on becoming the new jeopardy champion and we will see adriana in the 2025 tournament of champions
She probably be one and done in TOC like Chris Pannullo.

The new winner will be a one and done (maybe two)
Glad to see Adriana lose. She never acknowledged her opponents
Thats a pretty lame reason to dislike someone. Don't judge a book by its cover.
I can’t exactly say what it was about her that made me root against her from the beginning.
*A couple things...* what a horrible and easy final Jeopardy question. What a champ, Adrianna was outstanding and finally, Jennings is getting on my nerves with his sense of humor or lack thereof.
You should take the test to become a contestant so we can see your smarts and sense of humor!
We should be grateful Axe doesn't date back to 1978
Nicely done Adriana! The archivist goes Old-School, but racks a perfect performance next to the biggest names of Jeopardy! See you in the ToC!
I thought that the clue referred to an instrument being played, not a sport. The only logo I could think of with anything being played was RCA's, with the Victrola, and I was positive that wasn't what was being referred to.
Polo was the only answer that fit. Never heard of an instrument for a men’s cologne.
I was stuck on instruments, too.
@@pytube777I haven't really heard of any men's cologne anyways, so for me polo was just as likely as say harp for Guinness.
Me, too. From that perspective, Axe wasn't a bad guess at all!
I eventually worked my way to "sport", but then immediately stopped and didn't think to specify one.
I thought all of them would have gotten that one right. I got this one before Ken finished reading the clue, but I have owned several different versions of the cologne back in the 1990's, so this brand is the first one I would think of when I hear "men's cologne".
Never owned any since I was never a big user of cologne, but also came to me so quickly I thought, “It can’t be that easy.”
@@Ernwaldo It may be an age thing. Millennials probably aren't as familiar with the brand as those of us who lived through the 1980's and 1990's.
@@houseofbarnyardshenanigans …and 60s & 70s.
You’re absolutely spot on, though. Personal experience comes into play quite a bit on some things I immediately know that will occasionally stump all three contestants.
@@Ernwaldo They had one final Jeopardy clue a few years ago that essentially asked what state Magnum P.I. took place in. It seemed to be such an easy clue that everyone would get correct, yet all of them got it wrong. All of the contestants were in their 20's or 30's, so they may not have been familiar with the Selleck's show, but there was the rebooted show that was on the air for a good couple of years at the taping of that episode.
I think in Drew's case he didn't really try the clue and just felt like making a joke response. He knew he was not gonna be caught no matter what, so I think he was just trying to have some fun.
I can't believe she didn't get that. Maybe cause she's a woman and not familiar with mens cologne. But, to me, that was a really easy answer.
1:23 And what is a Cologne anyway?
Fun fact: Adriana Harmeyer is the 17th superchampion in the show's history, after the 5 game limit was lifted in 2003.
-Adriana was the first superchampion since Ray Lalonde and the superchampion of 2024 after technically not having one in 2023.
-Adriana is the first superchampion to have played on the Alex Trebek Stage since James Holzhauer, in the Jeopardy Masters Finals.
-While James Holzhauer inspired superchampions and strong players that came after, such as Matt Amodio, Andrew He, Amy Schneider, and Jackie Kelly, Adriana's strategy didn't follow. Instead, she was a more old-school player by selecting the questions from top to bottom and not actively searching for the Daily Doubles.
-Adriana now ties Ray Lalonde for the most correct Final Jeopardy questions in a row since James Holzhauer. In Adriana's instance, she answered 11 correct in regular season play, whereas Ray answered correctly in the games he lost to Lloyd Sy in his 14th game and Ike Barinholtz in the Tournament of Champions, respectively. However, since Ray hasn't been invited back for a future tournament yet, he still has the potential to continue the FJ streak in the record books.
-In the middle of her run, Adriana looked like she'd be defeated, only to make the game a runaway before Final Jeopardy.
-Since Mattea Roach, there were two or more games in a row when the superchampion was seriously threatened, only to prevail at the end of the game. Adriana's instance was similar to Ray Lalonde, in that both survived three major scares before facing their eventual defeat.
-Adriana's in 11th place for the most games won all time, right below Ryan Long, who's in 10th place at 16 wins.
-Adriana's in 13th place for most money won all time.
Adriana's statistics:
-Adriana got 17 out of the 48 Daily Doubles and answered 12 correctly.
-Adriana answered 13 out of the 16 Final Jeopardy questions correctly, 11 of which were consecutive!
-Adriana's average coryat score was $15,400.
How many games that Uber driver winner from Philadelphia? He was one of my favorites. He’s was one of the few I wanted to see keep on winning.
@@MikeCee7 Ryan Long won 16 games and $299,400. He was one of my favourites, too.
And she started really poorly in the first half of her first game. Think she only answered 2 or 3 questions correctly.
@@mr.timetraveler8784 Ryan was one of the only super champions, that I was continuously rooting for. Besides the old older white guy. But do you know why/how come Ryan wasn’t on those tournaments which is those 5 players?
& and I’ve seen those five players competing for multiple tournaments the past couple of years.
@@MikeCee7 The older guy? Ray Lalonde?
Those 5 players? The 2023 Masters Tournament? The Masters Tournament was speculated to have favoured the more recent players (the TOC Finalists and the top 3 of season 38), which is why 5 players from the 2022 Tournament of Champions and James Holzhauer. When the Masters Tournament was first revealed, fans had mixed opinions on it and hoped to have seen players such as Brad Rutter and Larissa Kelly compete.
I actually had a dream that Ryan Long played in the Masters Tournament and bet $8,000 on a Daily Double against Matt and James. 😂 As for why he wasn't picked for the Masters Tournament, my only guess is because he lost in the quarterfinals. However, that doesn't explain why Matt Amodio and Mattea Roach were picked when they both came in third place in the semifinals when Ryan came in second.

How could a long time champion miss on such an easy Final Jeopardy question? It's almost like they wanted her finished - like when Ken whiffed on the H&R Block question. Drew Basille finally defeated the champ and become the newest Jeopardy! champion
She’s not gonna go far in TOC. She got lucky so many times with weaker opponents.
I would tend to agree that despite her long streak she isn't necessarily the favorite right out of the gate, however it is still worth noting that Adriana did have an amazing FJ record during her run and that could still prove dividends for her if she keeps that up. As Ben Ingram and Jennifer Quail can attest, being good at FJ can be absolutely critical in the harder tournaments with tougher clues.
@@NickTheEnlightened then again, Jennifer Quail fell in the ToC to the same thing that Adriana fell to here - not hunting for Daily Doubles or betting big enough on them. Adriana is very good, but relying on the 61st clue to bail you out if the first 60 didn’t go well is an extremely dangerous strategy.
@@masterdoge987That is very true, but she was still the runner up in that TOC and one could even argue was the best overall player in that tournament in spite of her loss.
Like I said, I agree that Adriana probably isn't the obvious favorite going into the TOC; I wouldn't even be surprised if she lost in just her QF match. I was just saying that her FJ record is still notable and is impressive enough to where she would still very much be in the game during the TOC.
Did Adriana aim to lose Final Jeopardy? I believe she would have gotten that clue easily.
Nah, it's possible she just isn't really familiar with men's cologne products and thus she went with the only brand that came to her mind. She had no chance of winning anyway, so it's all a wash regardless.

Everything has to end. I don’t feel too sorry for her. She won enough money for winning more than 10 games.
Other people deserve a chance too.
She was not too happy and was not willing to accept the defeat and congratulate the new winner.😮😮
I'm sure she did off camera. I would be cautious of reading too much into a contestants' perceived "rudeness", it could just be that they're trying to maintain composure while being filmed for TV.
Please ask that woman to stop singing
Easy peasy question
Glad she’s gone. She never claps when her opponents get the daily doubles right. Looks like she wanted to cry at the end. Other players would be happy of what they accomplished but she looked like she wanted more money.
