People don't realise how much of value you are providing to lots of severely misinformed students in India who jump blind into CFA. You are very very underrated; Hope your channels grows!
The best thing I find in this discussion, is that you never ask to share, subscribe etc it's just by highlighting a bell sound without interrupting the discussion. I really appreciate people who don't beg like others especially when viewers sole are connected with speaker/ topic while discussion. No fast talking, no loud advertising like others. Lean, slow and knowledgeable till last second of discussion. Such channels need 2 likes button for sure.
Thanku Tanishka, this video is very valuable and has answered a lot of ques & myths people have regarding CFA. 🙌🏻 I wish you all the good luck ahead 😄❤️
Hi tanishka i hope you are doing great. You seem quite smart. I was just curious to ask you as to whether you never planned to go abroad for your masters/MBA?
Hi Jenil, I am doing good and wish the same for you. Thank you for the compliment 🙏🏻 It has passingly crossed my mind but never really extensively taught of it. I think the fact that my CFA L2 got very delayed due to 4 covid deferral then the unfortunate situation in my L3 has really made me just want to first finish this, complete a few professional plans that I have and then maybe consider. P.s. if it’s abroad I’ll most likely consider masters and if it’s within India then maybe an MBA…Having said that these are no where my priorities or tbh anywhere in my list as of now at least.
Hey, after my BBA if i cleared the CFA level 1 with average coding skills, Excel, power BI, financial modelling and valuation skills, Is it for real realistic to expect a job even after level 1? Do people get jobs after level 1? And What to expect a salary in Mumbai?
Yes you definitely can get a job after level 1. It’s not gonna be very easy since CFA does not have placements so that struggle to find a job is there but it definitely is available and in fact CFA Level 1 will help you in many ways to stand out. Average salary in Mumbai for a fresher with CFA level 1 can go upto 5 Lakhs (your soft skills can significantly increase or decrease this amount)

what if an Engineer graduate who now has an expereince of more than 1 year being a content writer in a share brokerage firm (did NISMs) cleared cfa level 1? , how will the job market treat that profile
It will actually treat it well because you have shown your interest in finance by doing CFA and being a content writer in that field…Also so many engineers do CFA so it can actually work in your favour if you want it to
@tanishka3338 you know specifically I wanted to work on a particular cadre which is M&A Or into the underwriting process.. But i ain't sure am gonna land right there.. Gotta know what it takes though
True that ! I jumped in blind for this exam and realised there is so much valuable learning in this my exams are in August i hope i pass ! Pray for me !
Hi tanishka, first of all thank you for the info and i just want to know the about opportunities & salary packages i can expect after clearing CA and CFA level 1..

Hi Harshit, Yes CFA would help you get a broad overview knowledge of the finance industry which will help you the market as well. However be ready to start from a fresher position to start with and then grow from there
Quite honestly Cfa is one of the only which would help cuz its doable with job and is shorter and to the point compared to Indian courses Especially if you wanna work in fintech ohh boy
Hello ma'am I saw that you have replied everyone. With a lot of hope I am messaging you. Can I you please guide, if I do CFA and can a job that is completely Work from home? Hi. I'm planning to do cfa with 12 years of work ex in a psu bank as credit officer. Do you think cfa will help me switch to the Big4 in 3-5 years time? What else I can possibly do to make the jump?
Hello, Yes it will add a certain credibility and also show the dedication to have a deeper understanding of the files but honestly your work experience will speak louder for your switch.
Im 27.. graduated in bsc biology at 2019.....now can i do cfa?? Or is it late?? Does cfa l2 offers any job?? Or i need to clear cat or do mba from atleast tier 2 business school????
Hello di, i need a suggestion regarding my career prospects. I had done my BCOM from DU regular college and then after i got my self enrolled in MCOM from BHU currently am in 2nd semester along with this am also preparing for CA intermediate exams, and i am planning to enroll for CFA in upcoming month. My view is to get a decent job in upcoming 1 or 2 years of time frame. Will it be viable decision to pursue CFA along with my master's and a professional courses and will CFA would be enough for getting a decent job ? Please di, i really needs your insights as my core field is finance only.
Hello, So to answer your first question of doing all three together…Is it possible ? Yes. Is it practical ? Not in my opinion….I personally feel it can get very hectic and this you mad end up messing something in between (however you know yourself better, so if you feel you’re great at multitasking then maybe possible). CFA will not be the core reason you get called for a job, the point is if you do it well then the chances of you getting selected after the interview increases purely cuz you have more knowledge. I would also like to suggest to rethink your why once again. Just piling up degrees will not lead to a great career. Yes more the merrier but in some cases it also shows confusion…CA & CFA are very different and I personally feel that just doing it one after the other without any reason will not be incrementally beneficial.
"Hi, right now I'm in my first year of BCom at DU. I'm thinking of applying for the CFA exam in my second year. Until then, what soft skills should I acquire as I currently have some free time?"
Hello Ansh, Before I get to the main question I really have to commend you for this question because rarely do I have someone ask me about this, inspite of it being so so important. So I am glad to see that change happening one person at a time. To answer your question: presentation skills (being interactive, yet firm, having a friendly nature, etc), communication with peers, seniors and juniors and negotiation skills.
"Thank you, @tanishka3338. I've come to realize that if I don't acquire these skills, I'll fall far behind my peers." Then I think participating in some b plan and case studies will help me acquire all the skills
Hello Mam, i just gave my 12th exams and now im deciding to jump in cfa , as i have interest in it , but some people says that iska scope nahi hi india mein and all , so im little confuse , may i get ur opinion on this
Hello, In my opinion if you’re looking at CFA from an angle that the moment you do it people will immediately what to hire you then that’s not the case. But if you do it well…Then the knowledge will definitely able you to crack most of if not all interviews that you sit for and thus people will automatically want you in their firms. Also to add to it, the certificate is of very higher reputation in the finance industry and even otherwise so that’s an added advantage
Hii di can you please explain what backend roles can we get into? Im preparing for CFA level 1 which basic job roles can i get into so that my work experiencecan be counted for cfa experience ?
Hello, Operations and compliance related roles are what I mean by back end roles! Make sure they are in an investment bank or core finance company to count for CFA experience.
@@tanishka3338 ohh okk... And esa bhi mene suna hei ki Kuch reputed institute ya tuition classes, coaching center hote hei waha se interview ke bina direct Job lagva dete hei... Esa real hei ya myth??
Hi , Just one question i am into technical job but have a keen interest in finance , have overall 6 yr of exp , is doing CFA L1 will be any beneficial in landing a job in finance stream or should i do MBA fianace ?
Yes CFA will help but I would say CFA all levels would be more beneficial. Also if you decide to do CFA over MBA just be ready to struggle to find that initial job because there is no placement cell. So if gaining more knowledge is the key and you are okay for that initial struggle then CFA else MBA
Hey ive done MBA finance I’ve done Btech CSE i have a workex of around 1 year in a completely different industry and i am at 8.5 CTC right now … Should I pursue CFA. I’m 24 yrs in age… I really dont want to go for a lower package. You response to this comment would be valuable.
Can u make a video of getting jobs abroad for cfa l2, l3, and charter pending candidates from india with 1-3 years exp and challenges that come along to get that
Thanks for sharing such valuable info! I am currently studying for CFA level 1. I have done my graduation in Btech last year, I am somewhat concerned about job opportunities after level 1 because according to my mentors doing CFA+MBA is good option rather than just doing cfa alone and I am least interested in doing MBA. So is it that tough to bag a job after completing my level 1 as of now ?
Glad you liked the video 🙌🏻 There are honestly 2 sides to this coin…MBA after CFA or with CFA is preferred by some companies because it gives them the surety that you are good at management and ultimately soft skills as well. Having said that doesn’t mean that CFA alone will not take you places…Yes you won’t have placements so that struggle is there but once in it’s all about how you prove yourself. To be honest once you’re in the corporate life it’s your work that speaks not really the degree that you have. After level 1 it is not impossible to bag a job but yes the struggle to find it is definitely there.
The amount will definitely increase, usually CFA Level 1 with no experience can expectations 3-5 lakhs so depending on the company and the exact job description (should be finance oriented) you may be able to ask for a raise.
Mam should I do eco hons from a good college + cfa and mba .. Good for me Or just do eco hons and prepration for gov job Or any computerized course like graphic designing etc
Every one listen Doing Only CFA without practical knowledge you get nothing. I have seen many people they have Work experience in accountant field plus CFA 1 level they are earning 47 thousands per month. and i Have seen many people cleared CFA all Level but earning 20 thousands per month. Because they passed exam just raata maar kr Theory knowledge📚.
Hello ma'am i am about to get into imi delhi for pgdm along with i am planning to complete cfa level 1 before starting mba and l2 along with mba what package should i be expecting for the same and if through off campus i try to apply outside of india after that (being fresher) then also what should i expect my salary to be...? Thank u
Hello Dipesh, Honestly giving a figure for anything is not the right thing cuz every company varies…But on an average around 10lakhs can be expected (maybe more if placements are great and soft skills are on point). Outside india the packages will be more but honestly getting a job without experience outside india is a very rare case scenario.
Hello mam, I am doing my bcom from a small college in my hometown (i didnt have any option aftwr 12th). Will this be an extremely negative factor in my CV? if i get 90%tile in L1 and learn financial modelling, will it make the process a bit smoother?
Hello Deepak, It’s completely fine…We need to understand that almost a majority in india do their education from small institutes and yet make big careers and I am sure with your determination you will do the same 🙌🏻 Definitely having a backing of CFA and other skills will uplift your chances more…Also recommend to constant work on your soft skills because that can be a game changer for you.
@@tanishka3338"Hi, right now I'm in my first year of BCom at DU. I'm thinking of applying for the CFA exam in my second year. Until then, what soft skills should I acquire as I currently have some free time?"
Hello maam Recently i have completed my 2nd year I want to persue CFA 1st option is that i complete level 1 in college itself and level 2&3 after college . After CFA take a gap year to prepare for CAT and persue MBA in finance 2nd option would be after clearing level 2&3 , gain some work experience of 1 or 2 years then go for MBA (becoz there are points for candidates who have work experience) Basically i want to ask whether i should gain some work experience before appearing for CAT or not
Hello Ansh, For MBA it’s always best to have some prior work experience as it adds value to your enrolment and to your overall degree as well. Having said that it’s important you note that once you start earning and get a level of financial independence in hand it does become difficult to let that go. So train your mind before hand and if you feel it’s not something you can do and if feasible then complete MBA first and then go for a job directly because at least this way you’ll do what you want to do for sure
Hi mam currently im working at public sector bank , having experience of 6 years . Planning to gain more knowledge in finance with an idea to become fund manager in future , like stock market analyst .. can i do cfa ?
Heyy I'm BCA graduate and doing a job in technical field and I aspire to do CFA I want to know will my work ex count after clearing level 1 and level 3 at the end . Please tell me the scenarios in the both the cases after clearing level1 and level3. Thankyou so much already
Hello, It won’t be counted as relevant experience but will definitely be helpful in considering you as someone who has corporate experience. It may affect your salary range a tiny bit but you may still have to start from the start considering it’s a career switch.
Hi Ma'am, I am a second-year student at University of Mumbai. I am planning to give CFA Level 1 in August 25' and have planned basically everything. I aspire to get into Investment Banking after my graduation like anyone else. I have gained practical experience from courses on Financial Modeling, Financial Analysis, etc. Do you think doing internships in Investment Banking and Finance would get a me job in a reputed firms like, Morgan Stanley and J.P Morgan? For instance, Morgan Stanley is proposing a position for Summer Analyst Role in IB and the same goes for Goldman Sachs. Do you think doing such internships can land you a role as an Investment Banking Analyst? Also, the discussion about the salary seems to be very low despite being a CFA candidate. I've heard that it's approximately 8-10 Lakhs for a fresher. Having the experience through internships and doing courses along with CFA Level 1 would land you a job right? I'm not looking for giving CAT right after CFA Level 1 or 2 as I want work experience first. Could you answer my questions? I'd really appreciate that.
Hello Himakshi, Yes definitely doing those internships will give you an upper edge in getting a job faster…However pls keep in mind that CFA institute doesn’t have a placement cell so the struggle to find a job (unless you take it through campus placement or have some connections) will definitely be there, irrespective of how qualified you are. Once you reach the interview table to though, you’ll definitely shine through if you’ve actually learned well through the years. Yes, salary for a fresher would be that as an average but who knows if you’re soft skills are excellent too, you might be able to negotiate a better deal for yourself
@@tanishka3338 I don't really trust the placement cell of my college so the only thing left for me is to get an offer through internships or having connections who can give me a referral in the future. Could you make a video on how to network?
Tanishka ma'am, I have a 5 year career gap due to UPSC preparation journey. I was a deputy manager in Axis bank and have work ex of 2 years. Now that i am sure i not gonna get through this exam, I want to switch to a Full time Job. Also, I don't want to be a Relationship manager again and sell allied products. I have cleared numerous NISM exams and I was a Topper in PG Diploma in Banking and finance. I do feel that if i study , I can Clear Level 1 of CFA .. not sure of other levels. What i wanted to ask is..should i give it a try ..or just do sales job instead.?
Hello, You definitely should give it a try if you’re interested in the field (which it seems that you are) and if you’re sure you want to let go of UPSC (which again you are). I am a strong believer that we all know what’s right for us but are just too scared to take that step. However who knows that it would be that one step that changes your life for the better and one day you’ll thank yourself for taking that step inspite of all the fear. So definitely if you have the option don’t settle for something you don’t want for yourself (a sales job in this case) and give yourself a chance to do what you feel you’re good at and what makes you happy.
@@tanishka3338 Thanks a lot for the reply ma'am. I am amazed that you actually replied.. Thanks a lot.🙂 Wil surely take a step in the right direction..
Try to get any govt job of any rank. After 5 years of gap and studying un-skilled based arts subjects, you will face Himalayan tasks to get any good private jobs. In the private world, you need to start from a very low level. Even after clearing CFA L1, which needs another mindset, time and money (difficulty apart), you will get a starting salary of around 4 LPA. Then you have to get a job after applying to different companies and have to face repeated rejections, forget about skeptical and obnoxious judgment from your co-workers. With this L1 preparation, you have to reskill yourself with advanced Excel, FM, SQL, Python etc etc, which will incur another round of cost and you will face challenges because of 5 years you only studied Lakshmi Spect Rao bullshit Vison (UPSC folks will understand) and only dreamed about good comfortable life with bossy attitude. I am not demotivating you but it is a reality in our overpopulated county, where the coaching industry is fooling us and every govt just overlooks this scenario. The rest depends on you. But remember you are not responsible for your pitty condition, the system is. BE HAPPY and STRONG.
Maam i am currently in bcom 2nd year 1st question is - Does college cgpa matters if i do CFA after graduation? 2nd question is - how many months should we study consistently to clear level 1 with flying colours ? 3rd question is - how do we manage CFA level 2 or 3 preparation with full time job ?
Hello Ansh, 1. No it doesn’t matter…As long as you pass it’s okay. 2. I would say take 6-8 months depending on your commitments and also your own personal pace. 3. It’s only tough but not impossible it’s just about you being more disciplined and undertaking that your pattern will change from the way you usually study

MBA from a top college will definitely help you get a job faster and of course uske bohot sare benefits hote hai. Having said that even CFA alone is very good…Yes job dhundne main struggle hoga cuz there are no placements but the knowledge is definitely at par
Hi mam, I have one query, iam currently working in financial planning company Australian company, but currently iam doing the basic admin roles..Iam thinking to do cfa ,so this experience will give me some value and one more thing can i prepare the exam with my job or should i left my job for level 1? As weekends are off and on weekdays i get 3 hours easily
Hi Abhinn, Definitely a good decision to do CFA it will update your portfolio in terms of knowledge which will help in moving up the career ladder. Seeing that you have time, I would say start studying (even before registering for the exam) see in 2 months how you’re able to manage work and study, if it’s going nicely and smoothly then it’s better to stay back, if you feel it’s getting very hectic and it’s not suiting you and you have the means to leave then without any guilt leave and focus on the exam 😊
Thanks Tanishka One more thing does this role of admin support counts? As iam working in Australian based financial planning company. After one year i will get a profile of paraplanner
@@abhinnsharma639 if you’re saying help in the Charter experience…It depends on your exact day to day operations. Chances are a little less but you can mail The institute with your JD and ask. Hi, im currently a second year student of Psychology and have realised that I have interest in the field of finance. So should i prepare for cfa and take the leap. Would I be able to get a job in finance or considered as a viable candidate for jobs or should i just drop the idea of it? Your guidance would be highly appreciated.
Hi Navya, If you are interested in finance and have realised that then it’s honestly the best time to take this leap. Won’t lie, finding a job will be a slight struggle because people will only see your Cv which will show psychology but if you don’t take this step you’ll end up in a field that you’re not passionate about and that too will not lead you in a good space. What can help:- Make your finance so strong that the moment you reach the interview they hire you…Which basically means the only struggle you will have is to reach till the interview stage which too can be navigated at least by 50% with a cover letter where you will pitch yourself and explain your story. So my suggestion would definitely be take the leap of faith because if you don’t you’ll live with a constant regret… Just remember if you can fail at what you don’t like then you’d rather fail at what you like 🙌🏻
I have done my bcom in 2023 and i am thinking of doing cfa do uh think doing cfa alone with get me a decent job? As i have heard from somehwere that cfa alone will not get you a job guarantee
Hello Neha, CFA will not help you get interview calls…the struggle to find a job like any other person will definitely still exist. However once called for an interview the things you learned in CFA, including having an analytical mindset will significantly push your chances of cracking the interview.
There honestly is no figure that will be right…It totally depends on the role, the company, the perks and so much more. On a very rough and highly prediction based average we say that a CFA Level 3 fresher can get upto 9lakhs yearly…So you can take this up maybe a tad bit.
Honestly this grade is very subjective…Yes some B schools do look at but main will be your compatible exam score in my opinion and everything else will be supplements
If i will do graduation from SOL.. Then by doing only cfa help me to get a decent job ? Or any other course should be done with cfa? Please answer... It is really needed
CFA or for that matter any course as such will not be the reason for you to be called for a job that may be a small part of it but not the main reason. However if done well if you get called for an interview then the chances of you clearing the interview and getting the job will be higher since you’ll have more knowledge…That’s what you need to know
I've passed 12th this year ND I'm planning to do cfa+frm.....but the eligibility criteria for cfa is 2nd year of graduation... .so can I start frm first? Then Job.. And then cfa... So I don't have to do graduation??
Hello in order to give CFA you will need to be doing your graduation or have at least 4 years of work experience in hand. Having said that…You should also consider why are you wanting to do CFA and FRM…Yes more the merrier but both are different fields and instead of doing 2 certifications it’s better you do your graduation + one certification. Remember graduation is primary all certifications will be supplementary.
CA is more popular in India and thus that’s the conception that goes around. Having said that CA too is really picking up in popularity and eventually jobs as well. Understand one is core accounting and one core finance
Is speaking english fluently matters as a freasher to getting into corporate. My soft skills are not that my good due to the surroundings. Should I apply for English speaking courses along with the CFA prep . Also I am very bad at socialising which badly affected my communication. Any suggestion?
Speaking English (at least basically) cab be a requirement in some jobs (front end roles) but more than that it’s about expressing yourself and having confidence… I think for now you need to focus more on gaining confidence in talking to people (even if it’s not fluent English or maybe using hindi or another language). That would be a skill that will be needed more, you can start with having 5 mins conversations and starting conversations with people you know, if you see a good course, can join that too. I will also try to make some video or maybe a workshop on this soon 😊
Yes you can do CFA…it will not help you find a job because there is no placements but will definitely enhance your CV and if you’ve done it well it will also help in cracking the interview

Hello, I don’t have data to give you a correct answer but based on what I have heard Gujarat and specially Ahmedabad will slowly hub some of the best companies so hopefully whatever the scope is will only increase
Back is more back end roles like operations, compliance, data entry etc. Mid is like a bridge between back and front so can be research analysts, valuation analysts, etc. Front means managerial roles and people who deal with clients directly. The work is same or overlapping, a definitions for this change from organisation to organisation but roughly it is what I mentioned above.
If there's a candidate who has cleared level 1 is open to shift to any city in india for better job opportunities in finance, which cities would you recommend for him to move into?
@@shreyasmaurya1152 that’s not a bad option but overall I have seen less core finance jobs there than the places mentioned. P.s. I don’t have data for this it’s just based on what I have heard and seen
Hello maam..currently doing an MBA in finance from a Tier 1/2 B-School and will be graduating in Feb 2024. Planning on pursuing CFA along with my job. Will it help me in the long run in terms of salary and growth?
Hi Prithvi, Yes it definitely will strengthen your portfolio specially if you want to be in the portfolio management/investment banking /financial advisory domain
@@prithvi6005 see for a complete fresher who has done CFA they can expect upto 5.5lakhs…here you have MBA and more importantly experience so I feel you can expect upto 10 lakhs as well (after doing CFA with some experience as well). P.s. factors like soft skills & company, role etc will make this number go up or down accordingly.
If you can start it now (you have to be honest with this in the sense that not even your MBA life is being compromised at all) then it’s great because it will add to your CV before placements. If you feel you’re not good at multitasking then definitely do it after because giving your 1000% in both courses is important if you want it to be fruitful for you
mam in CFA is mutual fund distributor considered as a work ex. and being a mutual fund distributor, will i have any chance to get a job in any companies

Hello Vaibhav, It’s so good to see this courage you have to pursue something you like 🙌🏻 I am not a personal fan of MBA online so if those are your options then I’d go for a job (unless the MBA is from a top tier firm and they are giving you placements as well)
Very good option if you want to get into core financing as it will give more depth to your knowledge…Also even if you finish one level while studying MBA it adds extra weightage to your CV

I've received an offer of 14 lpa after BTech, without any CFA, at a prop trading firm. I am currently in my final year and I wish to join a IB firm as an analyst since trading is not what I want to do for the long run or even short run for that matter. Would you say that with CFA L1 completed in May'24, I will have a chance to join a boutique IB firm as an analyst after graduation?
Yes you definitely will have a chance, the package might not be this high initially, but who knows if you impress them you might just equalise it also.
@@tanishka3338Thanks, I have registered for CFA L1 and will hopefully clear it in May 24. Can you also name few boutique IB firms which have good fresher intake?
Currently, I'm 19 years old, pursuing a BCom program from Delhi University, and will soon finish my second year. I'm confident about my L1 exam in August '24 and plan to take the L2 exam in August '25, which will be my final year (BCom is a 3-year program). After that, I'm a bit uncertain about what to do next. One option is to prepare for the CAT exam and pursue an MBA from a reputable school. Another is opting for jobs after L2 However, I've heard mixed reviews about the prospects of landing a high-paying and stable job with just a CFA L2 qualification, especially at a young age with no prior work experience. My parents are supportive and emphasize the importance of acquiring knowledge in the long run rather than rushing into a job. They believe that once you're entrenched in a job, it's harder to devote time to further studies or exams. So, I'm considering various paths: 1. Pursuing an MBA in Finance after L2 , via preping for CAT for a almost a year by sitting at home as a full time student 2. Exploring other certifications like CAIA, FRM, NSIM, etc to boost my CV 3. Looking for jobs after completing my CFA L2 exams. And highly unlikely, Should I go for the MBA directly after L1 i.e. preping for CAT in final year and postponing the L2. I'm open to suggestions and would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has any advice to offer. Your insights would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Raghav, Before I move on to my suggestions I really have to commend the clarity of thought you have at this age. While there is confusion of where to go the fact that you have multiple paths (great ones if I may add) chalked out, while also being aware of the pros and cons of most of it is brilliant 🙌🏻 Coming to next part, I highly agree to the fact that it does get difficult to manage studies and work so if logistically feasible it just makes more send or rather adds convenience if you can finish off one thing and then go the other. Also it becomes very difficult to let go of an income stream for studies if the time calls for it. Having said that I personally like your first plan with just one modification and that is to also finish level 3. Try to complete one thing in one go before going to the other as it really eases your burden plus has a complete back up in hand at all times. Path 2 is something I would personally completely scrap off. Purely because getting so many certifications may at times seem like more the merrier, but many times it also shows confusion. Additionally pilling on degrees/certificates just for the CV and with no actual agenda to go on that field isn’t very incrementally beneficial.
Thanks you for your valuable suggestions di ! I highly agree with your option of scrapping off the 2nd option. But there is one doubt I have ! So, if I decide to tackle the CAT before diving into L3, wouldn't that be a smarter move? Also, people seem split that L2 covers enough ground for the CFA making you ready for a job, suggesting I could wait until my MBA for L3 prep. Or maybe prep for L3 in my 2 year MBA ? (I'd be more mature by that time so wishing I can multitask and manage both of them 😂) What's your take on this?
@@raghavmaheshwari3160 yes you definitely can do MBA first that’s not going to be wrong in anyway and will have its set of benefits. Why I did suggest that though is sometimes continuity works brilliantly and many people tend to just leave l3 with the exact thought that you mentioned…While that might be true there is immense power in finishing what you start so before or after doesn’t matter but I definitely would recommend completing what you start (unless of course you completely have a different reason of wanting to let go). Personal tip: don’t compromise on the on ground events, activities, projects in your MBA school for CFA…The value those things hold is beyond what you can imagine at this point.

You need to finish 4K hours which is roughly 3 years of working in the investment industry (along with passing 3 levels of the exam) to be able to get to use the title “CFA”
Yes you can do this after BTech! 3 years of experience is needed to earn the charter tittle, for that you’ll need to find a job that is directly or indirectly related to the investment industry
mam, I have a question regarding CFA. Recently I completed my bachelor degree and now i want to pesue in CFA. I just wanted to know about the 4000 hrs of work experience. Right now i Do not have any type of experience. SO can you clear me that with just having a bachelor degree, can I able to do CFA?
To get the final title and use it infront of your name you will need to finish 4000 hours of work which is roughly 3 years…Along with with clearing all 3 levels of the exam
Hy Ma'am I recently get offer for hedge fund audit role in a firm which is based in Bangalore. But Ma'am my interest is toward hard-core equity research as I clear CFA L2 recently. Ma'am I am totally confused whether I should join the hedge fund accounting role or wait to any opportunity in equity research. Pls help me........
Hi Shubham, Few ways to look at it:- 1. You’re a fresher (if ever) and need to start somewhere to be able to get what you want…If the company you are being offered this job in, also has the role that you want then maybe join now and then internally keep your eyes open to switch (this is also highly recommended if you are in need for a job right now)… 2. You can take the job for now and keep applying on the side, if you are in a rush for a job 3. You’re in no rush, you are willing to wait and the company that has offered you this role does not have anything else that you relate to, then drop it and keep looking out for something else

When you say you're a freelancer, what do you exactly do? is it possible to do it along with a job? (i'm currently looking for a job and thinking of what else can i do in the meantime)
I basically take up short term clients and help them rearrange their operations and strategies to maximise value. I don’t think it can be done with a job (at least for me) because I take up one client and work with them neatly full time for say a period of 2 months. I started this during my CFA journey so as to feel more productive when time was abundant and I started enjoying it, because it gives me a lot of flexibility to focus on my studies and things I like as well
Good evening, Madam, Can i able to use the keyword 'CFA' in resumes after my completion of CFA Level 1 ? or is it forbidden just because i dont have 4k work hours in Investment industry.
Hi Navneeth, You cannot use “CFA” in front of your name as a tittle. The only way you can add it is by calling it an additional qualification/certification: CFA level 1 passed or completed CFA level 1
Only through CFA the chances of getting a job would be low for a change in country purpose…Prior work experience would be more valuable in this case and salary will also be based on that
Hi mam, I'll be graduating this july with cse background with no experience. I am confused between these 2 things: 1) Give level 1 in November 24 and go for masters abroad as I've no finance background and want to get into this field. 2) Go for masters in UK or europe and simultaneously give level 1 but the problem is it'll be very hectic with part time and studies. Also I have doubt whether I should choose masters in business analytics or masters in finance? Please give me your thoughts. It would be very helpful
Hello Rudra, In my opinion if you finish your level 1 first it will be more beneficial because you have rightly pointed out that it might get too hectic otherwise. Also I recently did a podcast a with Murrad Beigh and we extensively discussed how having done your CFA can help your mater’s applications (you can find this video in my podcast playlist). For the next question: both fields are brilliant…Analysis is growing multi folds currently but finance too is being updated so wherever your interest is you can go. I literally would vouch for both equally.
Honestly my dear there is absolutely no guarantee….thats the most honest reality! But on a personal note: I really believe just keep applying you will get something or the other for sure
@@learnskills4270 can’t give you an exact figure because there is a lot that matters, more than clearing the levels…The way you will be able to interpret that knowledge and also it will depend if you get into a front end investment banking job or not. It has passingly crossed my mind but never really extensively taught of it.

Yes CFA would help you get a broad overview knowledge of the finance industry which will help you the market as well.
However be ready to start from a fresher position to start with and then grow from there
Quite honestly
Cfa is one of the only which would help cuz its doable with job and is shorter and to the point compared to Indian courses
Especially if you wanna work in fintech ohh boy

I had done my BCOM from DU regular college and then after i got my self enrolled in MCOM from BHU currently am in 2nd semester along with this am also preparing for CA intermediate exams, and i am planning to enroll for CFA in upcoming month. My view is to get a decent job in upcoming 1 or 2 years of time frame.
Will it be viable decision to pursue CFA along with my master's and a professional courses and will CFA would be enough for getting a decent job ?
Please di, i really needs your insights as my core field is finance only.
Hello,
So to answer your first question of doing all three together…Is it possible ?
Hello Ansh,
Before I get to the main question I really have to commend you for this question because rarely do I have someone ask me about this, inspite of it being so so important.

Hello,
In my opinion if you’re looking at CFA from an angle that the moment you do it people will immediately what to hire you then that’s not the case.
But if you do it well…Then the knowledge will definitely able you to crack most of if not all interviews that you sit for and thus people will automatically want you in their firms.
Also to add to it, the certificate is of very higher reputation in the finance industry and even otherwise so that’s an added advantage

There are honestly 2 sides to this coin…MBA after CFA or with CFA is preferred by some companies because it gives them the surety that you are good at management and ultimately soft skills as well.

1st option is that i complete level 1 in college itself and level 2&3 after college . After CFA take a gap year to prepare for CAT and persue MBA in finance
2nd option would be
after clearing level 2&3 , gain some work experience of 1 or 2 years then go for MBA (becoz there are points for candidates who have work experience)
Basically i want to ask whether i should gain some work experience before appearing for CAT or not
Hello Ansh,
For MBA it’s always best to have some prior work experience as it adds value to your enrolment and to your overall degree as well.

Hello,
It won’t be counted as relevant experience but will definitely be helpful in considering you as someone who has corporate experience.
It may affect your salary range a tiny bit but you may still have to start from the start considering it’s a career switch.
Hi Ma'am,
I am a second-year student at University of Mumbai.
Hello Himakshi,
Yes definitely doing those internships will give you an upper edge in getting a job faster…However pls keep in mind that CFA institute doesn’t have a placement cell so the struggle to find a job (unless you take it through campus placement or have some connections) will definitely be there, irrespective of how qualified you are.

You definitely should give it a try if you’re interested in the field (which it seems that you are) and if you’re sure you want to let go of UPSC (which again you are).

Hi mam,
I have one query, iam currently working in financial planning company Australian company, but currently iam doing the basic admin roles..Iam thinking to do cfa ,so this experience will give me some value and one more thing can i prepare the exam with my job or should i left my job for level 1? As weekends are off and on weekdays i get 3 hours easily
Hi Abhinn,
Definitely a good decision to do CFA it will update your portfolio in terms of knowledge which will help in moving up the career ladder.
Thanks Tanishka
One more thing does this role of admin support counts? As iam working in Australian based financial planning company. After one year i will get a profile of paraplanner
@@abhinnsharma639 if you’re saying help in the Charter experience…It depends on your exact day to day operations. Chances are a little less but you can mail
The institute with your JD and ask.
Will it help in the exam, again depends on how much of the work are you being exploded to…I feel a basic understanding might be stronger for sure
Mam MBA in finance tier 3 college and CFA which is better for me and my 12th score 58 percent please help me which is better for me

Hi Navya,
If you are interested in finance and have realised that then it’s honestly the best time to take this leap.
Won’t lie, finding a job will be a slight struggle because people will only see your Cv which will show psychology but if you don’t take this step you’ll end up in a field that you’re not passionate about and that too will not lead you in a good space.
What can help:-
Make your finance so strong that the moment you reach the interview they hire you…Which basically means the only struggle you will have is to reach till the interview stage which too can be navigated at least by 50% with a cover letter where you will pitch yourself and explain your story.
So my suggestion would definitely be take the leap of faith because if you don’t you’ll live with a constant regret…
Just remember if you can fail at what you don’t like then you’d rather fail at what you like 🙌🏻
I have done my bcom in 2023 and i am thinking of doing cfa do uh think doing cfa alone with get me a decent job? As i have heard from somehwere that cfa alone will not get you a job guarantee
Hello Neha,
CFA will not help you get interview calls…the struggle to find a job like any other person will definitely still exist. However once called for an interview the things you learned in CFA, including having an analytical mindset will significantly push your chances of cracking the interview.
PLS REPLY...How much can a cpa with cfa and a graduate of christ University earn in a city like bangalore
There honestly is no figure that will be right…It totally depends on the role, the company, the perks and so much more.
On a very rough and highly prediction based average we say that a CFA Level 3 fresher can get upto 9lakhs yearly…So you can take this up maybe a tad bit.
PLS REPLY... I got 83%in both 10th and 12th will i be able to get selected in top b school like ISB... Or would it be a negative point

Can you tell me with an Indian job market perspective?
CA is more popular in India and thus that’s the conception that goes around. Having said that CA too is really picking up in popularity and eventually jobs as well.
Understand one is core accounting and one core finance
Mam, if i complete all level of CFA and then go as fresher then how much salary i expected??
Can be from 7-9 lakhs INR p.a.
The feed can vary depending on soft skills, company, location, etc
Is speaking english fluently matters as a freasher to getting into corporate. My soft skills are not that my good due to the surroundings. Should I apply for English speaking courses along with the CFA prep . Also I am very bad at socialising which badly affected my communication. Any suggestion?
Speaking English (at least basically) cab be a requirement in some jobs (front end roles) but more than that it’s about expressing yourself and having confidence…
I think for now you need to focus more on gaining confidence in talking to people (even if it’s not fluent English or maybe using hindi or another language).
That would be a skill that will be needed more, you can start with having 5 mins conversations and starting conversations with people you know, if you see a good course, can join that too.
I will also try to make some video or maybe a workshop on this soon 😊

How much opportunities in Ahmedabad is available for CFA L1 cleared fresher ?
Hello,
I don’t have data to give you a correct answer but based on what I have heard Gujarat and specially Ahmedabad will slowly hub some of the best companies so hopefully whatever the scope is will only increase
What do uou mean by back, mid and front office roles?
Back is more back end roles like operations, compliance, data entry etc.
Mid is like a bridge between back and front so can be research analysts, valuation analysts, etc.
Front means managerial roles and people who deal with clients directly.
The work is same or overlapping, a definitions for this change from organisation to organisation but roughly it is what I mentioned above.

@@AsifAkhtar20Hi Brother Plz Give Me Your Suggestion What We Do What Is The Best Plz Help bro
Another is opting for jobs after L2
However, I've heard mixed reviews about the prospects of landing a high-paying and stable job with just a CFA L2 qualification, especially at a young age with no prior work experience.
My parents are supportive and emphasize the importance of acquiring knowledge in the long run rather than rushing into a job. They believe that once you're entrenched in a job, it's harder to devote time to further studies or exams.
So, I'm considering various paths:
1. Pursuing an MBA in Finance after L2 , via preping for CAT for a almost a year by sitting at home as a full time student
2. Exploring other certifications like CAIA, FRM, NSIM, etc to boost my CV
Hi Raghav,
Before I move on to my suggestions I really have to commend the clarity of thought you have at this age. While there is confusion of where to go the fact that you have multiple paths (great ones if I may add) chalked out, while also being aware of the pros and cons of most of it is brilliant 🙌🏻
Coming to next part, I highly agree to the fact that it does get difficult to manage studies and work so if logistically feasible it just makes more send or rather adds convenience if you can finish off one thing and then go the other.
(I'd be more mature by that time so wishing I can multitask and manage both of them 😂)
What's your take on this?

Hey you did it offline or online? & is there good demand of it in India ?
Hi Shubham,
Few ways to look at it:-
1. You’re a fresher (if ever) and need to start somewhere to be able to get what you want…If the company you are being offered this job in, also has the role that you want then maybe join now and then internally keep your eyes open to switch (this is also highly recommended if you are in need for a job right now)…
2. You can take the job for now and keep applying on the side, if you are in a rush for a job
