Don't forget to find your local rescue group. I run a network of volunteer-based off-road recovery groups on Facebook. Search your state's name with 4X4 RESCUE at the end.
If you don't use Facebook go to offroadportal.org and they can network on your behalf.
Lastly, show some love to another RUclips channel called Alpine Redneck Rescue. He's also a Rhino Ambassador.
Ridiculous recovery Wes. You never cease to amaze. So much could have went wrong but once again you prevailed.
Great job Wes. In this case it was the " more the merrier". Definitely not a single vehicle rescue.
Very good recovery you are the man!
That is a heck of a recovery.
Nicely done.
definitely a sketchy recover there.....but you know what to do and got it done great video as always
Thanks 👍
Nice job!
Good job
Wes, another solid recovery. The after action report shows you’re never above self evaluation and reminders of the fundamentals. Nicely done again.
That’s skyline, and Pinehurst Road you guys were on!
Good thing you had those support vehicles.
Scary stuff! Nice video!
Good stuff!
Thanks!
Wes you definitely know what you're doing when it comes to offroad recoveriesand you always show beautiful scenery in your videos
What a recovery!!😮
Dude that was a tough one but as always you got it done great recovery my friend keep on keeping on my friend see you on the next one.
Thanks 👍
Very cool viedo, all of you made it look easy but we know it wasn't. It was very heavy rig and steep. My hat is off for u'll 👍
The only way I can see it being easier would be to use two hi lift Jacks on the low side.
Great job.
nicely done Wes, that was one for the experienced people for sure
Wes you are one of the best and in my opinion. I would trust you on tricky recoveries because you know how to get it done safety.
You take all recoveries as a learning experience on things you can improve on which is smart business for sure
Definitely a load on the winch there. Some good lookback at the end as well. I never thought of opening the hood, but it would definitely add some more protection for the driver.
I was thinking blankets could be on the rope just above the pivot on the hillside, put on 90* from normal, the ground would keep it in place. Perhaps if you could run the rope at the pivot on the blanket to reduce friction it would save your rope a bit too.
Do a meet and greet and have gift bags for the guests in two weeks or so I can have my blazer ready lol
Well done Wes, Great to see these videos
That's freakin awesome! I just bought a new front bumper and winch for my Gladiator, then I just got a bunch of recovery gear. From Rhino USA and found your channel. I've been binge watching your videos and learning a ton! I appreciate how you take the time to explain how you do things. I'd be curious to see how this would've went if you hadn't run into your buddy with the other jeep!
Hey that’s awesome, Rhino makes some solid gear. I would have ran a double snatch block to one end at a time.
right on man. I appreciate it. There's lots to learn from these videos you make!

Wes, whenever you're bored could you measure your frame to ground clearance under the doors for me please? I've got an older truck that I'd like to stance like yours. Also your tire size??
Great job !! Looking forward to the next one.
Great job! That looked gnarly. Another great video!
That was a good recovery video keep sending them videos I love them 👍
I just did a similar recovery with my xj. Definitely was a nice challenge on how to get the dodge 1500 back onto the road
that dodge is one heavy truck the engine itself is almost like a small car
That front was definitely heavy..lol
Good video 👍
Thanks 👍
Could have spooled out and got farther away..... of course adding more snatches would have been easier for everything
At first we had it rigged a bit higher but the synthetic line would have touched the ground.
I just had a thought about the winch blankets sliding. What if they had a tether line that you would hook to the shackle of the snatch block (in this case). The weight and gravity hold it down and the tether keeps it from sliding down the line.
All royalties go to me ok? Thanks! Nice recovery.
Awesome! Just found the channel. Keep doing these stay away from those homeless camps illegal dumps! 😂 stay safe out there
I never know where I’ll end up..lol
Wait a minute, Oakland CA?
I thought you were out of Florida.
I travel back and forth.
That was so dangerous
Bay Area first gens
Good job Wes. Where's the gear give aways
Rhino put those on pause for a little while. We’ll get them going again soon. Likely will have to do once a month instead of each video.
I just want to know...how do they get in these positions...what happened?
Good question. Sometimes I ask, most of the time I don’t..lol
Nice work! Wish we could order the Rhino Gear in Canada...
We have some items on Amazon
@@4x4rescue74 thanks! will check it out!
If your Winsch got not much Power ,set the Snatch on the Car that rescu not only in the trees ! You pull 1 to 1 and only a Snatsch on the Car you want to rescu make ist better !
Great recovery job, Wes. I noticed you had the tree saver or axle strap wrapped around the vehicle's front axle and then around the side of the tire because of the angle of the line up the hill. When you were pulling, in my mind, there was tremendous pressure on one side of the wheel that the strap was one. Were you not concerned with damage to the wheel and connecting joints?
The wheels can take a decent amount of force. Especially a large solid axle, if it had a front bumper with tow points in probably would have used that, but there was limited options.
They say do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life
I would drive that 1st gen, however I wouldn't park it there.
😂
Talk a major ooops when you got to this jeep wea
My fault dodge truck
Are you sponsored by Warn or is that just what you happen to run ?
Nope, I like the openroad4wd winch more. I have one on the back of the jeep. It’s more affordable, has a synthetic line and comes with two wireless controllers. They sent me one to test out, I have a 4x4rescue discount code set up with them also.
I have the Open Road 9500 on my 3rd Gen 4 Runner .. had to use it twice it saved my bacon 🥓
Where are you out of?
I travel back and forth between Florida and California
wow cool you guys where at canyon i use to wheel up there 40yrs ago wish i had your phone number i dont do facebook keep the vids coming most all my gear is rhino good stuff thumbs up
