Dearest child, let me offer some help, meant purely with good intentions and because I am at the core of my tar-black soul a teacher who just has to do something when I see a need--unlike the kind Lana Del Rey encountered.
    (1)Crass: unrefined, unmannerly, crude
(2)While I don't know Lana Del Rey personally or any of her friends/family and so can only share what has been publicized, she does come from an unusual family that was artistic but didn't really give her a lot of stability as a kid, although details of what really went on in the family are elusive and contradictory. By age 13, she was already a raging alcoholic who often ditched school to get into trouble with the wrong crowd, including older kids going nowhere good. So, her uncle intervened with the influence he had and got her a place with financial assistance to help at a boarding school to get her out of that toxic environment. While overall she has said it was a positive move, it also dropped her into a ready-made situation to be groomed and abused, including by townies who knew the girls would push boundaries as teens do and sneak off to party. They oh-so-helpfully joined in and plied them with cigarettes and alcohol, which still doesn't hold a candle to the reported adult but utterly despicable waste of human cells arranged into a creature who also called himself a TEACHER (obviously of a very different variety to me)! He ALSO did a bit of grooming and enjoyed an "affair" with Lana Del Rey.
(3)The story of :Lolita is a very famous work about a stepfather who goes through what seems like moral quandaries and all sorts of deep reflections about his feelings while actually shown getting rid of the mother so that he can have access to the young stepdaughter who of course was dependent on him. The name has come to be used as a sort of shorthand anytime you have young girls who are at that verge of innocence and seductive sexuality, especially when they end up somehow with older men. Yet let's be clear; a predator is a predator is a predator, which isn't something we have to waffle over defining anymore! Ghislaine Maxwell and Geoffrey Epstein's private plane he invited influential leaders to share was dubbed "The Lolita Express" for good reason, and may all such predators find themselves in very unpleasant situations without benefit of anesthesia!
(4)Yes, Lana Del Rey almost "raps," because she is a poet from a family of poets who just turned hers into music by adding instrumentation underneath it. Yet at the construction level, most poems are about fitting words together within the pattern of rhyme and meter, which is also how rap works! It's poetry.
(5)(Now for the extended bit breaking it down but that might give you a whole new series...) While it does NOT use the actual words from Shakespeare's sonnets/play, when I teach Romeo and Juliet, I start with the video of the older rap song "Ooh Wee" with Mark Ronson in his early DJ days, Ghostface Killah, and the unmistakable voice of Nate Dogg, King of the Hooks (cleaned version, of course). I tell them if they can understand that 3:19 of video I'm about to show, they can understand Shakespeare (which always trips them out when the music kicks in). They used all of the elements of the plot of the play--the rising generation of young men with their equal propensity for fighting to prove themselves and chasing the new group of girls being brought out into society leading both to the kind of conquest gamesmanship in the club and rival gang members new to the scene but schooled in old grudges encountering one another around those women and threatening to come to violence. Once they get the basic plot and that Shakespeare's sonnets were performed by actors in their version of just applying rhyme and meter schemes spoken like a rapper who flows even if the music isn't there backing him up, I can get most of them to take that journey with me. Lana Del Rey in song is much like Juliet--often fragile, emotional, often with imperfect partners, not always able to assert herself directly so that others understand, and yet still finding something beautiful and real even if it is coupled with tragedy. Thankfully, though, she didn't die from drinking the poison and even figured out how to claim power in a world where Romeos sometimes turn out to be really evil frackers who DO need a taste of very unpleasant medicine!
I'm sure you're wondering how you got an essay from a stranger this morning, and the first part of the answer is that RUclips's impenetrable algorithm decided to pop you into the autorotate sequence of loading up something it thinks I'll like if I let a vid end and don't make a deliberate selection. I was finishing typing a different paragraph, and there was something about not knowing what "crass" meant and having to look up Lolita but still being able to grasp much of the song's meanings, anyway. Plus you expressed appreciation for Lana Del Rey, who is arguably the most important female music artist of the 21st century so far that made me think I might as well give you some background to carry forward to your next reactions. (Plus if you delve into "Ooh Wee" and Mark Ronson as the DJ/producer, you'll have a whole new series!) Maybe it'll at least help with that RUclips algorithm everyone always discusses. Now, though, I'll return you to your regularly scheduled weekend!

idk if this would be as trendy but I think it would be cool if you reacted to a Def Leppard music video like "Love Bites" that's one of their most famous songs. :) Btw if you're not familiar with Def Leppard they're one of the most world famous 80's rock band. They still make music today I think and still do tours.
