Thanks. Another video told us to put flour on it. A bunch of the people in the comments followed the advice and it made the fires bigger!

I fail to see the danger of a fire burning up by itself in a fireplace..
Well, perhaps if you have to leave unexpectedly and you have a big roaring fire going,
But with one of those screens in front of it or witb a tilesd floor and nothing combustible near by, there's basically nothing that could go wrong, is there?

I figure it’s just about minimizing risk. You could go your whole life without something bad happening but if something bad does happen, it could be a catastrophe.

Also KEEP the ashes and when cold can be used to put nutrients back into the earth for growing vegetables in vegetable gardens etc
