You know I’m not normally a “rap rock” fan, but this song is amazingly produced. I remember the first time I heard it on the radio like 11 years ago and the waves of emotion that it produced were eerie. It still gives me goosebumps. Amazing song. The children chorus makes it even more amazing.

This video was released when I was 17. I'm 31 today. At 17, I watched this video for the for the visuals & the instruments. Now, I understand the lyrics...fuck.
I was 11, I'm 25 almost 26 now. At 11, I thought the video was so cool and I interpreted the lyrics as an angsty emo kid (because that's what I was)
It was in 2019 that the entire meaning of the song and video finally hit me and sank in. It makes me tear up now, hurts my heart. I sang it with my friends at a protest once. It's such an intense song and video, really intense and brutal honestly. It's even more gut wretching in 2023, given we've now entered the 3rd world war... We're truly going to fight or fall... Linkin Park seems to have a habit of being unconventional with their music.
Skillet has a habit of being very upfront with what their lyrics mean.
HU has a habit of being very secretive about the meaning of their lyrics, leaving it to speculation (mostly).

In 2021, still wish Deuce was writing for them. This was the HU I grew up and jammed with.
Deuce would be better off mentally and physically with HU. I like Danny but I know for a fact Deuce was destined to be with HU, He just got into some bad situations which made him feel singled out

I remember when I first heard this song. I had just graduated college a year prior, the economy was in the tank and I couldn’t get a job. About a year earlier I was prescribed OxyContin and got brutally hooked. After school I moved from CA to my original hometown in Colorado. I had tried to get off with Suboxone, but the suboxone withdrawal was worse and lasted so long. After two weeks I went to Denver and scored some heroin and my life spiraled out of control, but honestly I was having a lot of fun! Then I got arrested for the first time, did 4 months in county and was released to rehab. I got a weekend pass and my sister picked me up to go see the “new” Star Trek with Chris Pine (2009). As we were driving in I heard this song and it blew me away! I was so pumped up and emotional. It was so beautifully done. I still consider it a masterpiece and hearing it is an instant blast to the past when I was young and invincible, now those days are gone so I need songs like this to remind me.
This song started me on my “alternative path” back in 7th grade and I couldn’t be happier. What an talented band with an iconic song.
Gotta give it to them, this song was ahead of the times. One of there most under appreciated songs in my opinion. Fell out as a fan, but damn, this one sticks.

I’m so happy more and more people are getting to listen to HU, I have been a fan since 2010, ever since I was a child I love this band. It’s a shame that most new listeners won’t be able to really know deuce whilst he was in the band, but the classics like young, city and others are still golden in my eyes
