The Parable of the 5 Wise and 5 Foolish Virgins: A Call to Readiness

As we study yet another parable unique to Matthew, we discover more examples of Jesus' incredible ability to weave together biblical and contemporary imagery and language to create a powerfully impacting message to His disciples. As He speaks from the breathtaking vantage point of the Mount of Olives about the importance of Kingdom members being ready for His return, His “word-video” (the parable) gives us an even more breathtaking view of life in Israel in His time.
